In this century, plenty of advancements had been made. One of the main advancements is the ability to produce genetically modified food.Genetically modified food is livestocks and crops that are have altered genes from its natural form.The alteration made are done to allow maximisation off the quantity and quality of food produced.Different climates and environments have different genetically modified food. I believe that genetically modified food will be the only solution for food insufficiency in the developing countries.

countries.To allow a country to have more food, a country has to sacrifice the production of another commodity.Based on the law of comparative advantage, it is most efficient for a country to specialise and trade.The country would specialise in a good with lower opportunity cost so that more food in total can be produced. If more food is produced, less people are hungry. However, this may not work for developing countries because there are limiting factors that comes with it. One of the circumstances is that a country cannot trade if their product is not desired by other country.In the case of food as the product, the food is not in demand because it lacks factor that makes it appealing.Such factor maybe taste or the quality of the food.Those factors can be achieved with genetically modified food.Genetically modified food can change the look, taste and nutrition of the product made.If the food produced is still not desired for trade, then there are other ways in which genetically modified can be consumed. Genetically modified food can also increase the quantity of food produced.This allows the country to be self-sufficient .Thus more food is present, less hungry stomachs.Solving the problem of food scarcity can be done by either opening pathways to trade or being self sufficient no longer needing trade. Another reason why food scarcity occurs is the negative food insecurity cycle.The negative food insecurity cycle starts from crop failure, which can be from natural disasters or other factors such as lack of care.The failure of troops lead to the hunger of people which then leads to less labour force.
The cycle continues as no revenue is produce from less labour force that leads to not being able to create more food and buy more food. To eliminate this cycle, we have to eliminate the start which is the failure of crops and livestocks. This can be done by genetic engineering crops and livestocks to be able to survive and grow in different conditions. Thus eliminating the negative food insecurity cycle. With the successful crops and livestocks production less people are facing food shortage and malnutrition , which is eliminating food scarcity.
To sum it all up, eliminating food scarcity of a developing country can be done by trade, self sufficiency and eliminating the negative food insecurity cycle. These three methods require one main component to succeed which is genetically modified food. The key lies on genetically modified food therefore i believe that genetically modified food is the only solution for food insecurity in developing
countries.
