Teachers have the tendency of creating new and efficient techniques for their students to learn. It has been discovered that flexible seating has improved the ways in how students learn. Teachers who have begun the flexible seating have seen a major advancement in their student’s assignments. Students should be given the option to decide what is best for them to enhance their grades. Small changes like changing the way of seating could create a huge difference in how the students perform in class. Students are required to sit in desks that are stiff that do not allow them to sit in a better position. This can cause major back pains plus it makes it difficult to stay still whenever they are sitting down. It is tough on students to complete …show more content…
Now, that if it was agreed by the board of the school, the next subject that would be discussed would be the cost of the chairs. As I read the article I thought about how much does our district spend on these desks. In my high school, there are about fourteen classrooms that have the individual metal desk for the student’s seats. If there were to be 10-20 desks in each class that would be a rough estimate of 290 desks. If each of those desks were to cost $130.00 the total estimate would be $37,700 for all those desks. On the other hand, it would cost less if the district would invest in bean bag chairs since they only cost half or less that the metal chairs we already have. Not only would the district save money, but they could use that money for the students who are in need of meals, clothes, or school supplies. This flexible chair investment would aid the students and schools because it would improve the student’s grades, and it would also increase the school’s academic excellence. If there is something that can help everyone, why not take the opportunity to achieve greater
Parking on Campus is a Pain New students entering Concordia College are not permitted to have a car on campus. With each new freshman class entering every year, parking represents an issue. Concordia is as of now constrained in its parking on campus and since first year students are not permitted to have cars, the students are confronted with the problem of having no place to park or parking very a long way from their goal. There are parking issues everywhere throughout the campus, making backups in residence hall and other lots, bringing about students parking illegally to avoid from walking far distances, which can be very aggravating in the bitter cold. Parking nearer appears like the reasonable thing to do, however it is a hazard, which
While many people face certain issues with campus dining, one of the few issues that really bother me is the dining hall hours. Ball State has the times listed on their website which most of the time they do not stay true to. Here I will list the times for you; breakfast is 6:45-10:29, lunch is 10:30-4:29, and dinner is 4:30-midnight. While I have gone in during those times to eat they dining halls are usually all packed up and starting to get ready for the next mealtime. I especially feel that they do not stay true to the dinnertime. All too often I will go into a dining hall around 8:30 and they main cuisines will already be packing up. This leaves people who are either working on homework or at work themselves hungry when they get the chance to finally eat. 82.35% of the people who took my survey said that they spent their time studying or working on homework. I asked if anyone has ever skipped dinner because they did not like the food options after everything has closed. 70.59% said yes to having skipped dinner. While this may be a problem I feel that one of three solutions could be the answer to fix it all. I believe that the dining hall could either leave one specific dining hall with all options open until twelve, have all of the dining halls open until twelve as said by Ball State, or better yet, change the dining times.
Have you ever wondered how some athletes have gotten so good at a certain sport? Have you ever thought about what they did in order for them to get this good? For some the answer is simple; workout and train. But for others the answer is different; the use of performance enhancing drugs such as steroids. There are some people that argue that steroids should be legalized and allowed in professional sports. Other people argue that steroids should not be allowed. Today I am going to state my opinion and justify my reason. Steroids should not be allowed in professional sports because it can be very dangerous to the athlete’s health, it is a way to gain and un-fair advantage and it can be dangerous in both social and physical aspects.
Over the years, the cost of college tuition has been one of the central issues limiting students, like me, from obtaining the best education that one could receive. Usually, this results in students settling for a school nearby rather than being able to have the choice to go to the best one in which they were accepted into, due to such skyrocket prices. Much of this problem or concern has to do with out-of-state tuition being much higher than in-state tuition, sometimes almost doubling the price of in-state tuition! Therefore, students are more pressured to remain in state rather than go to out-of-state schools that may offer a better education.
A group of mix-matched chairs is forced into a singular, tight space in the lobby. Anyone who enters and waits must wait in such close contact with those around them. Awkward silence is seemingly inevitable. People constantly remark about the little amount of sitting, making comments such as “if only we had a couch,” but they fix this problem by using the open area of the floor. While this goes against the design of the building, it works well and allows a larger group of students to interact.
In this year so far, there has been 40 people that have died in collisions where they were not buckled up, as well as 347 people over the last five years in Provincial Ontario alone (@citynews.). So this is becoming a growing problem. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, more well known as the NHTSA has used many different ways of getting their message out about the dangers of not wearing a seat belt. The NHTSA has used all forms of social media, but the one of the most influential forms of getting their message out though has been their Public Service Announcements or PSA for short, on the television the NHTSA have a PSA called “Second Chance”. The Click it or Ticket PSA “Second Chance” was created to appeal to the driver’s
4. If the teacher changed her classroom by trading in tables for desks and faced them all towards the front of the room, how might that change the class for students?
Interior design is becoming increasingly popular all over the world. There is simply nothing more enjoyable than to relax in your own well-decorated and organized home.
THERE are two types of people on the planet, those able to sleep on planes and the folks that spend hours staring at the seat in front as they hop across countries.
Public transportation is an essential part of a city. A good public transit can encourage a city’s economic activities and can provide its citizen a convenient life. Does our Phoenix public transit work well? Does it provide sufficient service to the citizen? From my experience, the answer is no. This November I tried to attend the popular State Fair in Phoenix. However, I found that there were not any buses or metros could take me to the fair directly. It means I need 2 hours or more spend on the public transits. As the sixth most populous city nationwide (“Phoenix Quick Fact” 1), compared with Los Angeles and other big cities in America, Phoenix’s public transportation is indeed subpar. Due to Los Angeles has 154 bus lines and 30 metros (“Schedule”), New York has 316 bus lines and 28 subways(“Maps & Timetables”), while Phoenix only has 98 bus lines, and the number of metro line is only one! (“Route Schedules & Maps”) The problem is
The classroom embodied the stereotypical music classroom with its various instruments scattered around the room. Every inch of the wall and door was covered with music notes while chairs encircled the room. Besides the teacher’s desk, there were no other desks in sight. The students had to sit on the ground in the center of the room away from the instruments. Even when playing instruments, the students sat on the ground. Although the setup was very different from a general classroom, it was appropriate for the kinds of lessons that the teacher taught the students. The teacher did not hand out any worksheets or assigned homework so the students did not need any desks for writing. Since the classroom was already small and cramped, having desks in the class would have impeded on the activities that the students performed.
I believe it is equally important to have a classroom that is student-centered. I do not imagine my classroom arranged with rows of seated desks all facing the front of the classroom. Instead, I think that students should have the opportunity to work amongst their peers in small groups, studying a wide array of topics. Students will not be required to focus their attention on on...
Student should have lockers because they need to put their binder in their lockers and don`t have to carry their binder around the school. You can have something to personalise and make completely unique.they Can keep your things from getting stoles. After they go to launch they have to put their binder in their lockers and they don`t have to carry their binder . Every morning they came to school they need to put the backpack in their lockers everyday. I use my lockers after all my periods to drop off and exchange book. There is no way I could lug around all my books for the whole day in my backpack. I also
For teachers to be effective their classrooms should be open, encouraging and safe environments, where a strong student-teacher relationship can be achieved (Marsh, 2008). Students should be treated with respect in order to meet their need for belonging (Eggen&Kauchak, 2010). The layout of the room and resources need to be well considered allowing different areas for different activities (Bennett &Smilanich, P. 1994) keeping in mind space for easy movement and creative work. Seating arrangements, noise level and room temperature all need to be taken into account when planning the classroom to maximise productive lea...
During the first day of school, a variety of different students enter the classroom. These students are excited and nervous, they have their parents by their sides who are observing the classroom walls and arrangement. From the minute the students enter the classroom, students are observing the classroom environment and notice the everything. Everything in the classroom needs to have a purpose, but provide a pleasant environment. When preparing and organizing the classrooms, teachers need to consider the different variables that impact the classroom. Classrooms can be disorganized if the walls are cluttered and have no meaning The organizations of the desks, the wall decorations, and the seating arrangements significantly impact the physical environments. Students are like sponges, they soak up everything that surrounds them. In the article A comparison of actual and preferred classroom environments as perceived by middle school students in the Journal of School Health stated “studies have shown that classroom environments are closely related to a number of aspects of student
