It is a well known fact that road accidents are increasing at an alarming pace in today’s world. The society knows the risks about driving without paying attention but they still practice bad driving habits. In order to reduce the statistic of road accidents, attempt such as heavy penalties should be implemented on careless drivers. The reason why people should be penalized is because they behave as if they own the road. . They obviously don’t care what they do to themselves or other people. The drivers displays intentional or wanton disregard for safety and property of others. Implementing some strict regulations will certainly reduces rate of accidents. I have several reasons to support my statement.

We as Malaysians were taught to be with mannerism all the time in our daily routine. However, in this era, many have become hot-tempered and selfish. They don’t give importance to other people’s feelings. Many road users curse and use foul words when something goes wrong on the road. They complain non-stop about the other driver who made a mistake and never bother to consider that they might be a part to cause them to react that way. Showing unethical sign is a major problem in our country. This is especially a trend to nowdays teenagers. Any unexpected movement by the other driver that causes a little hustle the teenagers will start to show their dissatisfactions by showing all kind of signs. They have very little considerations towards the other road users. All they want is to reach their destination fast. Through penalties and by practicing ethical codes, we can change the attitude of drivers. The moral code that should come from their inner which will actually makes them to treat other road users with the same courtesy they would like to be shown to themselves. They will have a new enlightened driving style that help them to stay calm and focused on road. Thus, the roadways would be less stressful and a lot safer than they are today ( JENNIFER ZIMBROFF, …show more content…
Bad road surfaces, weather conditions, vehicles conditions should be taken into consideration too. Drivers main factor that contribute to accidents beside reckless driving is road conditions One can observe the negative side of bad conditioned roads especially when the weather is bad. A poorly designed roadway, intersection, or means of controlling traffic can at times cause or contribute to an accident. Poorly placed and poorly designed road signs or barriers can cause unnecessary injury when vehicles collide with them. At times, such defects will result in liability by the governmental agency responsible for the design and maintenance of the roadway, although governmental immunity may apply. If the weather is rainy or snowy, the vehicles could easily slip on the road.. There is a less chance for the driver to spot the hazard that is because of bad road conditions until his or her car starts to slide out of control If the weather is rainy or snowy, the vehicles could easily slip on the road. This is why it is highly recommended for the driver to check on their vehicle before starting a long journey. Service the vehicle from time to time in order to keep the car system in its best conditions. By servicing the car,we could detect any failures in system and replace it. Thus, eventhough the road condition is bad having a well serviced vehicle
With the introduction of the automobile in the early 1900s, laws have been instituted to protect drivers on the road. With these laws come lawbreakers who put their agenda in front of the well being of others. Tens of thousands of lives have been lost. billions of dollars have been spent, and pollution has grown exponentially because of this. drivers travelling at high speeds on roads (Hartman).
In the 21st century, our nation is facing a major issue, causing teenagers to lose their lives at the hand of the wheel due to inexperienced driving. “Teen drivers between the ages of 16 and 19 are four times more likely than older drivers to be involved in an automobile crash,” and statistics show. Automobile accidents are the number one cause of teen deaths. Driving regulations are in high need to be changed in order for teenagers to gain more experience with driving before taking the driving test, which could help save countless adolescence’s lives.
When I was about seven years old, someone pulled right out in front of my parents. We missed hitting them. When I was nine, we almost backed into another car coming down the road. The lady was on her cell phone, not paying any attention to the road. When I was 13, we finally did hit someone. It was my brother’s fault. My brother should have been more focused. These are all things that happen to everyone at one point in their lives. It’s inevitable. I think if people were to pay more attention to the road, crashes would happen less often. Driving can be dangerous, and people can be even more dangerous if not focusing on the task at hand.
On top of that, these type of people use their cellphone, eat, don't wear seat belts, or drunk while they are driving. But these people don't realize that doing those minor thing can cause them severe pains or even deaths. There are millions of peoples are getting killed and injured every year because of car accident. I think if everyone use the traffic rules, all
Whether it is a text massage from love one or a bite of a sandwich, it is not so important than a human life. Distracted driving is an epidemic, so more tough laws should be implemented. The law for distracted driving should be tough just like a driving under influence. Distracting driving is a killer on the road, it should be banned because, it is the number one killer of the U.S. teenager in the road, not only the teenager in the road, but also cause a collision which is often fatal, and some incident were driver or one who involve on an accident became disable. Distraction is an involvement of driver where his or hers eye or mind are engage and performing on other things rather than driving, such as while talking on
Drivers in their 20s make up 27 percent of the distracted drivers in fatal crashes (NHTSA). In a class of 30 High School sophomores students between the ages of 15 and 16, will be in their twenties within 4-5 years. Within this short amount of time, that means that 8 of them will be responsible for a fatal car crash. If they survive the crash, they will face charges of irresponsible driving, if not something worse such as vehicular manslaughter which can result in up to 20 years in prison. This will affect them for the rest of their lives. But the answer lies not in stricter driving laws. The solution lies in educating motorists about the dangers and punishments of distracted driving. For example, a study was conducted using a driving simulator.
...ture a risk-taking species. In ancient times we took risks just to eat. Later we took huge risks by setting out in little wooden ships to explore the earth's surface. We continued as we sought to fly, travel faster than the speed of sound and to head off into space. We rely on increasingly more complex equipment and constantly strive to design and manufacture faster and even more elaborate devices. It goes without saying that every effort is made to ensure our "safety"; to keep us from harm or danger. Every time you slide behind the wheel of your vehicle you are taking a risk. Driving is the riskiest activity in our lives. It is an inherently "unsafe" environment. The most perfect vehicles on the best designed highways on beautiful sunny days driven by fallible human beings crash into each other. The only way to drive "safely" (as we are all admonished to do!) is to learn more about the process. Learn more about your vehicle and how to maintain it; learn how to use your eyes to look far down the road; learn to spot problems before they happen; and also learn to deal with emergency situations. In most cases it's the human element that fails. After all, safe is only as safe does.
In this year so far, there has been 40 people that have died in collisions where they were not buckled up, as well as 347 people over the last five years in Provincial Ontario alone (@citynews.). So this is becoming a growing problem. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, more well known as the NHTSA has used many different ways of getting their message out about the dangers of not wearing a seat belt. The NHTSA has used all forms of social media, but the one of the most influential forms of getting their message out though has been their Public Service Announcements or PSA for short, on the television the NHTSA have a PSA called “Second Chance”. The Click it or Ticket PSA “Second Chance” was created to appeal to the driver’s
Technology is evolving faster than ever these days, however there is one technology that could revolutionize the transportation industry. This technology is called autonomous cars, also known as self-driving cars. Autonomous cars can be defined as a vehicle that is capable of sensing its environment, and navigating without human input. Using different techniques such as GPS and radar, autonomous cars can detect surroundings, thus removing the human element in driving. This would have a positive effect in more ways than we could ever imagine. Research suggests that self-driving cars will become more abundant in the future because they will be more cost-effective, enhance safety, and decrease traffic congestion.
We can attack and reduce the dangers of aggressive driving. Each of us should take a look at our own driving habits and those of our friends and loved ones. The government can help with road improvements and law enforcement, but solving this problem will require people to change their behavior. Working together, we can make our roads safer and prevent deaths and injuries.
“The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status, or ethnic background, is that, deep down inside, we all believe that we are above-average drivers” -Dave Barry, comedian. The number of accidents over the last ten years have drastically increased, drivers are paying less attention to the road itself. Many individuals behind the wheel of a car believe that their driving does not affect the road conditions, however it always will. The driving habits of today are catastrophic due to the reasoning that the driving will affect other lives through reckless or distracted driving, and disobeying traffic laws.
You might have never thought about the number of people who have been in car accidents, the number of people who were injured in car accidents and the number of people who have died in car accidents. Many of those accidents were caused by teens and adults paying more attention to a phone screen than the road.
Preview: To overcome aggressive driving we must first understand it. I would like to share with you the problem, the dangers and the solutions for this growing trend.
... control this man-made epidemic by implementing strategic programs that will effectively address such a major growing issue of road traffic accidents and injuries. Although some initiatives have been taken by the government and various non-government agencies, many of which are not fully effective for the causes of enormous constraints at different levels particularly for the lack of target oriented research based program. Indeed, an effective and integrated research program is fundamentally important and is seen as the basis of development and subsequent evaluation of a comprehensive road safety strategy.
It is important to follow all traffic laws to keep everyone safe on road. The amount of traffic accidents and losses drops significantly when people are obeying the rules on the road. Sometimes we forget what a big responsibility it is to drive carefully. Traffic laws are designed to protect you and other drivers on the streets. If we don’t follow them we are not only putting ourselves in risk but also other innocent people. By knowing the rules of the road, practicing good driving skills, you help play a vital role in preventing a crash. You will also be making the safety policies more effective. Many components play a major role in road safety including speed limits that are posted and making sure safety equipment is properly installed and used.
