Going to school is very time consuming and so is having kids. Most people that have kids don’t finish college, if they started. It is a struggle to find people continuously to watch your child, especially if they are working as well. I have seen people bring their child to class if the teacher allows it. Parents have a hard time getting a babysitter. Being that Baton Rouge Community College is a community college most people cannot afford the daycare. A lot of classes you may need do not have an online course. Having a free daycare, open all day, on campus would be great. So many people would be at ease. I don’t personally have kids myself, but being that the school has more women there, a daycare would be convenient (Baton Rouge Community …show more content…
Honestly most girls that get pregnant that early have conflict with finishing high school or going to college. People make it impossible to raise a kid and go to school. Imagine being able to drop your kid off at a safe, secure daycare before your class, I would love that. I would love that for the women and some men too. Think about all the time that will save. You would not have to go far to see your children. College is not a reality for some people, especially those with kids. I know a girl who has had 4 kids since she was 17. She wants to go to school but she cannot go. She cannot find a babysitter for work and school. She cannot take online classes because she does not have a computer. She cannot succeed. Without education there is poverty and with poverty there is crime. It’s a cycle and something as simple as not having a daycare at school can make a difference. It is sad to watch knowing that the only thing I can do to help is babysit. My time is limited I cannot babysit when she needs me. If only BRCC had a daycare, the difference it would make. They already accept just about anybody. Even if they had the money to pay for daycare, so many daycares are getting closed down because of the
Some parents in the world do not discipline their children and do not care what the children. All they care about are them selves. At that point the social workers take the child and put them in foster homes with complete and total strangers. Some companies just put kids with people who do not care about the children just what they get paid. They just let the children go off and do what they want and do not supervise the children’s activities. The social workers should do more thoroughly background checks. There should also be more supervision in foster homes instead of little supervision, and the workers should visit the home and the children more often than they actually do.
There’s a high rate of homelessness among the children who was been in the foster care but age out. Many children are going to the foster care because of many tragedies they already had before they even understand what is life all about. Fortunately, for them, there are some people who try to help them out and give them a second shot at life. And having a child of my own gives me a full understanding how much a parent 's guidance and love mean to their lives and I am trying to introduce adoptuskids.org to help raise awareness of homelessness and adoption to all the people and hoping that the children in the foster care system will get a lot of help, support, and love.
Many individuals are taking the process of process of parental licensing into their own hands, despite their contributions being made up in mind only, however, it is thought that counts. One respective person believes that a restriction on having children should begin at the earliest stage of one’s life: birth. As soon as a child is born, doctors should “go in and turn off their spickets” (McRedmond). In the later stages of life, this would prevent several cases of teen pregnancies, seeing as though it would be an impossibility for women to get pregnant. Then, when a women eventually becomes ready enough to think about having children, they should go through a testing process, perhaps similar to Sherman’s ideas of interviews, writing, and demonstrations of capability. If they pass, they “get their spickets turned
which prove that a foster home is not the solution to help children in need. Although the
Single moms are the most affected and providing childcare on campus is very beneficial to them. More than 4 million women attend two-year public institutions or community colleges, and more than 1 million of them are mothers. Many student mothers struggle to stay enrolled all the way through graduation. Most of them are more likely to drop out of school, and the reason is because most often there is no affordable or available childcare and the students have limited financial resources. The average daycare center cost for an infant is higher than a year’s tuition and fees at a public college. It makes affordable on-campus child care a necessary provision for students. Childcare on campus helps to contribute to the learning
Everyone knows about foster care but do not realize the impact it has on humans ' lives. “More than 400,000 children are placed in foster care annually, with more than 200,000 moving in and out of foster homes in giving year” (Brozak, 1). Foster care changes and benefits people live, from the child to the parent. By foster care you save more lives than just the foster child. Although, foster parenting come with barrage of challenges. It provides many advantages for the people in need. Having foster children in your home is a blessing to the child, foster parents, and birth parents.
Walking onto a college campus as a young freshman, I joined the throngs of young women who planned to stay in college until they married. Marriage would lead to being a blissful homemaker for the next several decades. This planned journey has included speed bumps and rough gravel, and in hindsight I see why my plan should have included finishing college. Once a woman has achieved the status of a stay-at-home mom, there are many arguments for not pursuing a college degree. The loudest argument I have heard is, “It is a waste of time and money if you aren’t going to do anything with it.” The goal of being a stay-at-home mom is ideal, but it does not eliminate the benefits, need, or value of a college
The United States is one of three industrialized countries that do not have policies put in place that mandate companies to provide paid parental leave. In 1993, U.S President, Bill Clinton, enacted the family and medical leave act (FMLA) which allows for employees to take unpaid, job-protected leave for up to twelve weeks for medical reasons if their employer has more than fifty employees employed at the company. Later on in January of 2015, President Barack Obama signed an executive order that entitles federal employees for up to six weeks of paid sick days to take care of a newborn child or an adopted child. Currently there are only three states in the United States with paid parental leave policies which are California, New Jersey and Rhode Island. As of right now, only those employers who
Foster Children who are emancipated out of foster care are in danger of becoming homeless because Foster Homes are allowing many unfit parents to adopt, they are emancipated before they can find a job that can support them, and they are not being taught the skills to avoid homelessness.
There are many aspects to early childhood education including what all it contains and is being taught. People willing to teach in an early childhood center are vitally important for learning and have overwhelming benefits for the children (Teufel). Children are expected to know much more information at an early age, so it benefits children to have the opportunity to take part in a program before kindergarten.
There is no doubt that education is one of the most important factors that influence development of individuals, personally and socially. By obtaining an education people become capable of developing the necessary skills to be successful and live productive lives. It has been established that education gives people the knowledge and tools they will need to be eligible for well-paying jobs. Unfortunately, in the United States many high school students fail to graduate every year and mostly drop out of school when they are close to graduating. For many years the US led the world in high school graduations, however, the US now ranks “21st globally among developed nations” around the globe (OECD countries). Currently, three European countries lead
Karrie Cooper Miss. Nelson English 1301 21 September 2016 Mothers Raising Children Should mothers stay at home to raise their own children or should mothers go out and tackle the corporate world? There are so many views on this topic for mothers; it’s definitely a choice that must fit right for her and her family, making the wrong choice could definitely lead to unnecessary risks that one shouldn’t have to take.
Early teens and teenagers that babysit are more likely to become successful adults, according to a recent study from Drexel University. In our society today, an issue that has been argued over is if 11-13-year-olds are old enough to babysit. Numerous people stopped hiring teen babysitters and say teens aren’t responsible enough, which isn’t true. Teenagers should babysit because they know to react quickly, they can do simple tasks, and it teaches them money management skills. Teenagers that are babysitting can keep children away from harm.
Speaking from experience, having a child and attending school is a big obstacle in life. I have a great support system from my school and outside family. Not everyone have that, having a free childcare for students would be helpful. Many teen parents would stay in school, it will help produce a greater amount of teen parents graduating. They would take advantage in good ways, getting more involved in school activities.
To begin to explain my ideal daycare for my children I would want to meet with all the staff. The staff would have to present themselves with a warm and welcoming presence. If the staff presents themselves this way I feel like my kids would feel free and able to express themselves in whatever activities that the daycare providers have planned for that day. The children may even learn from the staff how they want to be treated and how they want to treat others. If my kids are allowed to do that then I feel as if they will gain a sense of self of who they really are.
