Have you ever gotten injured while playing a competitive sport? According to Stanford Children’s Health, there are more than 3.5 million sport injuries a year. Playing competitive sports has been debated about a lot lately. Some argue that competitive sports increase drug use, increases injuries, and causes stress. Others argue that competitive sports aren't dangerous and keep kids active. Overall, competitive sports are dangerous and unsafe because you can get an injury while playing and it can be life threatening.

Playing competitive sports affect young people in a good way. They are good because you have that commitment and now its hard to back down. Student athletes can agree with all of this because it teaches discipline and a lot of other things. Parents can disagree with my reason, because they don't want their child to go through with intense training. They think it's way too much for the child.

Studies have shown that athletes with high anxiety usually suffer the most after a game. Whether the team wins by 20 or loses by 10, they will never be 100% fulfilled with the way they played. They will constantly run things through their head of what they could've done better, or what they should’ve done different.
