There has long been disagreement about competitive sports.Competitive sports is complicated because, people say that their kid will get hurt but this argument is misguided because there will be a lot more things you will gain rather than lose. The actual question that should be debated is, how do competitive sports influence an athlete’s mental and physical well being. I have played football for five years and I saw what sports can do to you. I saw it change my teammates, I saw it changing myself. Some people think that their kid will get hurt, but I believe sports injuries are much easier to handle than life injuries, with sports you can overcome both.

I decided to play soccer when I was very young because I thought it would be fun. So here I am on the field, the coach notice that I was the best at offence. So she stuck me were she wanted me. I was filled with a lot of energy but not enough to play the whole game. She also though I liked offence, when I would rather like to be goalie or defence. So I quit, then I decide to play football which is a sport I loved. When I started the coach did not put me in a random spot. The first practice he just put us in spots to see what we are good at. They I saw I was good at tight-end but later found out I was best at center. I liked be the center, if I missed a practice the next one they would say “Mattie Moose, we missed you!”.That started cheering me up. I finally began to realize that they absolutely loved me. Then in the second year not even that in the first year, our coach was just not talking about football but our lives, problems, failures and how we learn. He taught everyone who step in his practice what football really is. Then I started understanding it and I became a leader, my grades went drastically up, my brain was like transformed into another brain. I started thinking a lot better I became a better worker and listener I started developing life skills at an early age which has affected me throughout my life. I had a new life and brain. The next day at practice coach said now that you made the team we are going to have a tryout for who is going to start and make lines according on skill and your ability to work. I loved everything about the sport, knew everything about the sport, and simply wanted to be physically involved with the sport. I signed up for my local football organization and greatly anticipated the start of the season. My first season our team finished undefeated, winning each game with ease. I played offensive line and enjoyed every play, finally being a part of the sport I loved. My coach at the time admired my hard work and dedication, repeatedly telling my fellow teammates that we should all aspire to have a work ethic such as my own. At the end of the season, my coach suggested I practice to become a quarterback. A quarterback is usually one of the skinniest players on the team, a trait I certainly didn't have. If I were to be a quarterback, I would have to lose at least thirty pounds and practice almost every day until the next season. As crazy as the suggestion seemed to me at the time, I gladly accepted the challenge and almost instantly began to work to become the best quarterback I could
My 8th grade year around the month of February people were starting to recognize spring football was right around the corner. I was a middle school stud says most coaches I played bandit and sometimes safety full time. Tine seemed to fly faster and faster day by day the team was coming ! Playing competitive sports affect young people in a good way. They are good because you have that commitment and now its hard to back down. In the "no" section of 'Have Youth Sports Become Too Intense?", it states "Intense training promotes self-confidence, self-discipline, and commitment." Student athletes can agree with all of this because it teaches discipline and a lot of other things. Parents can disagree with my reason, because they don't want their child to go through with intense training. They think it's way too much for the child.
Sadly, my family was going through financial struggles, forcing me out of the school zone I was destined to attend. When I discussed the situation wih the high school coaches they told me they would pick me up from my new house and take me to school every day; with the condition that I’d play football for them all throughout high school. Even though this was illegal I continued to go ahead and accept the offer. My first year of high school was so exciting that it went by in the blink of an eye. Sophomore year came and the clock ticked closer and closer to when everything would change. I started in varsity as a corner back but soon would have big shoes to fill as the team’s quarterback. Not only did this require skill and hard work but the ability and qualities of a leader as well. Ultimately, playing this position helped me acquire traits that would soon be necessary for success. In contact sports there will be bumps and bruises, but injuries can happen even without sports. If parents will just allow kids to play there sport at their own will then they will never be put in emotional distress, because they are just having fun. Every sport is basically a team sport so there is plenty of kids that will talk to them or interact with one another so kids will be able to make friends without a problem. On team sports there is one common goal they are working for so they all have something in common. Sports will help enhance kids so much with almost everything they will ever need in life, so it is such a great experience for them to go

Competitive sports are a very hot topic right now, and people have different views on children participating in them. Some may think that competitive sports help children to be healthier, because they are very active during practices and games. Although this is a good reason, sports can lead to concussions and other dangerous injuries. The truth of the matter is that sports can be very dangerous, and they can lead to many other problems. Children shouldn’t be playing competitive sports because they can get concussions or other dangerous injuries, they can develop excessive amounts of stress, and they can develop poor attitude.
For some people sports is just a game, to athletes it is their life. According to the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) an athlete can only participate in their own school’s sports or club sports (OHSAA). This means at New Knoxville Local School, my school, my brother or any other athlete won’t be able to play football while attending school at New Knoxville. My intention is to make it possible to go to school at one place, but play sports at another school.
