There has long been disagreement about competitive sports.Competitive sports is complicated because, people say that their kid will get hurt but this argument is misguided because there will be a lot more things you will gain rather than lose. The actual question that should be debated is, how do competitive sports influence an athlete’s mental and physical well being. I have played football for five years and I saw what sports can do to you. I saw it change my teammates, I saw it changing myself. Some people think that their kid will get hurt, but I believe sports injuries are much easier to handle than life injuries, with sports you can overcome both.

I decided to play soccer when I was very young because I thought it would be fun. So here I am on the field, the coach notice that I was the best at offence. So she stuck me were she wanted me. I was filled with a lot of energy but not enough to play the whole game. She also though I liked offence, when I would rather like to be goalie or defence. So I quit, then I decide to play football which is a sport I loved. When I started the coach did not put me in a random spot. The first practice he just put us in spots to see what we are good at. They I saw I was good at tight-end but later found out I was best at center. I liked be the center, if I missed a practice the next one they would say “Mattie Moose, we missed you!”.That started cheering me up. I finally began to realize that they absolutely loved me. Then in the second year not even that in the first year, our coach was just not talking about football but our lives, problems, failures and how we learn. He taught everyone who step in his practice what football really is. Then I started understanding it and I became a leader, my grades went drastically up, my brain was like transformed into another brain. I started thinking a lot better I became a better worker and listener I started developing life skills at an early age which has affected me throughout my life. I had a new life and brain.
