Climate change is something very real in today’s society. People need to be more aware of what is happening to the world around them. CO2 levels are rising, the ice caps are melting and sea levels are rising. The awareness about global warming should rise...not our CO2 levels. According to the graph shown on NASA’s climate change website, our CO2 levels on earth have rose ever since the Industrial Revolution. Multiple greenhouse gases block heat from leaving Earth’s atmosphere. Over the years, the amount of fossil fuels that are burned, have increased greatly. Burning fossil fuels creates these greenhouse gases. The more fossil fuels we burn, the more greenhouse gases that are stuck in our atmosphere. In Greenland and Antarctica, the ice caps are melting at alarming rates. Since 2002, Antarctica has lost a lot of land mass...exactly 134 billion metric tons of ice. To make it even worse that number is not from 2002 to 2016...that number is for every year! Greenland has lost close to 287 billion metric tons per year. That is a lot of ice that has melted. As the earth heats up, these ice caps will melt. When the ice melts, our water levels rise. The higher the water levels rise the more dangers flood could pose to those who live on the coasts. Plus, if the ice disappears and the earth becomes extremely warm, what will the polar bears do? They would have nowhere to live, and soon enough would go

Global warming is becoming a very important issue because it can potentially wipe out all species on Earth with the rise in temperature. Global Warming, or Climate Change, is caused by greenhouses gases that are trapping the sun’s heat from escaping the atmosphere, therefore, heating Earth up. the atmospheric Carbon dioxide level is always below 300 PPM, starting from 1950, it rose drastically, causing it to be at 400 PPM right now. The problem is, there is a lot of evidence that shows how WE are the cause of global warming, but some people are still choosing to ignore it, choosing to fight against the truth.

My parents grew up in small town in Mexico. There was a little river that went through part of the town when they were growing up. Every weekend or so they would go out and would go swimming with their families, it almost became a tradition to go swimming there until they noticed that the river 's water level was becoming smaller and smaller. Even if the reason of climate change may be the natural cycles, we humans are the major determinant to it. The huge amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere is causing the climate change and this amount is rising day by day, as a result of our actions. Greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide, generally absorb and emit the heat in the atmosphere to keep the Earth’s climate habitable. Everyone in the world today is experiencing the effects of global warming. These effects might be small now, but if we don’t protect our planet now then the consequences will greatly be increased.
Scientists, economists, and policy makers all agree the world is facing a threat from climate warming. Climate warming is caused by excess greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, which are heat trapping gases. Human use of fossil fuels is a significant source of these gases. When we drive our cars, heat our homes with oil or natural gas, or use electricity from coal-fired power plants, we contribute to global warming. Including any loss of trees or forests also contributes, considering trees convert carbon dioxide to oxygen.
