Has the weather-man ever been correct? Most people often look to the weather-man for accurate predictions of the day 's weather. However, most of their predictions seem to be inaccurate by a slight margin, such as being off a few degrees or an unforeseen chance of rain. This is common in today 's era and an explanation for their lack of precision is due to Climate Change. Climate Change, or more commonly known as Global Warming, has become a dying issue most climate skeptics have ignored or set aside for future, except, this current era is the future they were waiting for. In the recent years, the Earth has been experiencing serious climatic alterations mostly caused as the result of human behavior on their environment which inevitably affects …show more content…
One country notorious for generating the most carbon dioxide pollution from fossil fuel power plants is the United States. The U.S. produces 25% of the world 's carbon dioxide pollution; more than China, India, and Japan combined. The Natural Resources Defense Council stated that in the United States, an average amount of carbon dioxide pollution is 2.5 billion tons per year (National Resources Defense Council, 2005). The data presented in Fig.2 conveys the electrical energy produced by fossil fuel combustion and the United States is by far, the largest. According to a statistical analysis by the EPA, 40% of U.S. carbon dioxide emissions come from electricity production, and burning coal accounts for 93% of emissions from the electric utility industry (US Environmental Protection Agency). Almost every piece of technology used in the 21st century requires electricity and to produce the electricity necessary for the technologies the Earth is paying the price. In addition, carbon dioxide emission from automobiles follows fossil fuel burning power plants in being a large contribution to high carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere. Automobiles emit an average of 1.5 billion tons per year in the United States. As population continues to grow exponentially, the demand for automobiles and electricity in households will indubitably increase the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to alarming rates that are beyond the point of no return. Once the Earth experiences this change in the atmosphere, it brings about disastrous
Human activities have led to an exponential increase in the use of fossil fuel. The benefits of using fossil fuels are short lived in comparison to its long-term negative effects. In the last couple of decades, the major consumption of fossil fuel played a significant role in the rise of concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere. Roughly two trillion metric tons of CO2 have been emitted in the atmosphere and over a quarter of these got mixed with the ocean water resulting in ocean acidification (Buffie and Carr, 2010).
The world in which we live in at the moment has become poisonous. It has been poisoned by the human species’ daily survival activities. Humans around the world have taken for granted the daily impact that we have on the natural world. It all boil down to each and every breath that we take. Each and every breath that we exhale releases poisonous chemicals into the atmosphere. Until when our existence becomes absent, the world will remain poisoned.
Surprisingly enough, 97% of scientists agree that climate change is real and caused by detrimental human activities (Vaidyanathan, 2014). Climate change is a real problem that the world is facing right now politically and ethically. The reality of climate change boils down to the average temperature rising over the past 140 years, arctic sea-ice melting at inconceivable proportions and skeptics without proper certification authenticating or challenging claims made by scientists on either side of the argument.
The world is extremely hanging on fossil fuels such as liquid fuels, coal and natural gas. Figure.1 shows that the world will continue to be dependent on fossil fuels in the future. The inordinate consumption of fossil fuels is draining the reserves. Accordingly, the fossil fuels are becoming more pricey. Even so, the most important concern about the enormous use of fossil fuels is not their prices; it is their negative environmental outcomes. With the combustion of fossil fuels, huge amounts of 〖CO〗_2 are released into the atmosphere. These emissions are considered as the main reason for global warming. The global warming consequences have already become visible to be seen as such the melting of glaciers in the poles and sea level uprise.
Climate change is a long-term change in regional or global climate patterns. From the mid twentieth century to now, it has mostly been about a significant increase in average global temperatures. Climate change is a major issue in the world today, and a lot of people feel very differently about the cause of it. The common argument about it is whether climate change is a natural occurrence or if the recent increase in temperatures is because of humans. Climate change is a natural cycle in the Earth’s weather. Before humans started burning fossil fuels, there were still weather cycles on Earth that were as hot or hotter than what it is now. In fact, Earth’s weather now, is on pace with the previous weather patterns in history. Human emitted
In recent years, climate change has been a controversial topic. Many people, including country leaders argue that the change is real and irreversible, while others claim it is a tactic to envoke fear among people. Climate change is defined as, “a change in the typical or average weather of a region or city” (nasa). Their is remarkable evidence for both sides of the debate which raises the arguable question, is climate change real? In this essay, I will explain both arguments of the topic about the controversy that surrounds climate change. For argumentative paper you must also develop your own position and defend your point of view on this topic. In your intro please provide a clear thesis statement.
Every aspects of human being in this century is mainly based on fossil fuel. People commute every day using many different kind of transpiration which manly depend its energy source from fossil fuels, electric suppliers, military, different big industries in the world also based their energy on the fossil fuels. As population increase the demand and supply for fossil fuels are also increases. Fossil increase fuels plays more than a person imagine on the carbon dioxide emission in the environment. sadly, developed countries are manly the major energy users in the world. For instance, there are about 400 million people live in the USA and there are 1 billion people live in the continent of Africa. When it comes to the energy usage from the fossil fuel sources, the USA uses three times more than the entire Africa. Even though there are many factors which contribute to that data, the information shows how USA depends its daily life on the use of energy
Should Climate Change Laws be Reformed? Climate change is a hot topic all around the world. Hundreds of thousands of articles, graphs, charts, and videos have been created about climate change, and thousands of people have voiced their opinions on it through speeches and social media. It has been such a prominent issue for a few decades now, and many different laws have been placed into effect to help prevent it’s disastrous effects.
My parents grew up in small town in Mexico. There was a little river that went through part of the town when they were growing up. Every weekend or so they would go out and would go swimming with their families, it almost became a tradition to go swimming there until they noticed that the river 's water level was becoming smaller and smaller. Today there is no river anymore, instead it 's a road that travels through the town. Every time I visit my family in Mexico it would alway be nice and warm up until this year when I went in December. I remember waking up and getting ready to go to my aunt 's house in clothes for warm weather. As I open the door, the cold air punch me and I saw snowflakes falling down. It 's not supposed to snow in that
Climate change is one of the most discussed topics of the twenty-first century. Although this subject is very often on the daily basis of lots of people, most of them do not know much about it. So let us define climate change. People think that climate change is the same thing as global warming. However, global warming only represents one aspect of climate that is temperature. Climate change is any significant change in temperature, precipitation, or a wind pattern that occur over several decades or longer.
If every person in the United States continues to live the way they do, it would take five planet Earths to provide for everyone. Over one million species are faced with the possibility of extinction as a result of disappearing habitats, changing ecosystems, and acidifying oceans. By 2040 the Arctic is expected to have its first ice free summer ever. The United States government needs to implement a carbon tax on burning fossil fuels in order to protect and prevent the destruction of our planet through funding from those who threaten it. Such a tax would be market based and imposed on large companies in order to reduce our carbon emissions into the atmosphere.
Furthermore, half of world’s population live in urban areas, where the air quality is the worst. Consequently, electric cars should be introduced as a potential solution for the issues associated with climate change, air quality, and oil dependence. United States accounting for one-fifth of global emission and being one of the biggest and leading countries with high dependence on fossil fuels should consider the fact that in a near future humanity will run out of oil. The fact that in a far future, renewable sources would be the only sources of energy proves the need of serious care in issues facing the society. Many developing countries take the U.S. as an example in many different sides.
Climate change presents a disputable and contradictory concern, dividing the human race into two groups: those who believe in it, and those who do not. The dispute seems to be one between fact and fiction. Climate change and other events have been devastating lives of millions of people worldwide for years. Not all Americans believe that Climate Change exists and affects our Earth every day. Only two-thirds of the population believe that climate change exists due to the the evidence scientists and researchers have found.
Picture this you wake up one day and there are more than 1,000 people living on your land. It’s a pretty large piece of land with enough supplies to support your lifestyle. However, with 1,000 more people living in that same area, it has become crowded and compact. The next day, 1,000 more people come to live on your land. This continues to happen every day for many years, soon supplies start to become scarce and space starts to be a rarity. Sadly, this is our reality. There are 7.4 billion human beings on the face of the Earth and just in the United States alone there are 323 million. According to some estimates, there are somewhere between three and seven times more people than this planet can possibly maintain over a long period of time.
Our planet is suffering from severe pollution, which ranges from contaminated air, water and soil as well. Humans are doing nothing to reduce the amount of pollution that is harming our earth. To understand how pollution works first you must understand that there are different types of pollution. The most common types of pollution and the ones that I will be focusing on which are the ones doing the most harm to our planet are air pollution, water pollution, soil contamination and littering. In order to help out and reduce pollution in our planet people need to be more aware of what these problems are and about the severe damages that they are causing our planet. Before industrialization really jumped into place and had an effect on large cities, nature had its own way of cleaning up its own air and itself. Wind scattered gases, rain washed many substances and the rest dissolved into the ground; while plants absorbed carbon dioxide and made it into oxygen. With big cities growing more every time and with more towns that were becoming more industrialized a lot of more waste began to be released into the environment and the atmosphere and soon this was more than enough for nature to handle. In order to stop and reduce pollution people need to understand the damage that it is causing our environment and our planet as well. People need to be more aware of how they can help out and do their part in reducing these problems that are causing our planet to die slowly with people not even noticing it.
