Kids walking the halls! Sophomores lost, Freshman too! Looking for their class. Students complaining about how “summer was too short.” When seeking a career as a teacher, a person should look at aspects such as one’s responsibilities, necessary skills, work conditions, salary, and its prospect, but even more importantly is to prepare oneself properly by attending The University of Texas at Brownsville (UTB) that will offer the best training possible. Teaching has a lot of tasks and responsibilities. As a teacher you must get students to want to learn and get them engages with the assignment or the lesson. Job specific skills depend on what subject it is you will teach. A math teacher only teaches math, not reading and writing as well. The working conditions will be waking up early, 5:30am or 6am. Where you work might not even be the city where you are from. The salary/ benefits are between 33-56 thousand. Being a teacher doesn’t make you rich. The benefits are you get summers off, as well as holidays. You don’t work weekends, even better! Unless you want to be a part of extracurricular activities and all. The occupational outlook looks great! The world will always need teachers! Education is a forever thing! Everyone will need it, it is required now.

The education system here in the U.S. is failing for many reasons. Students don 't feel motivated one bit. There are several reasons for this and this is probably the biggest reason for students not doing so well in school.. Schools are overcrowded and teachers don 't get the chance to give help to students who need it more. The K-12 program that we use here is not so bad and has good and bads but if one things for sure, it 's that students don 't get prepared well enough after they exit and move on to college. There is many many more issues, problems and flaws in our system and in order to create better more successful students we need to change our educational system. This isn 't something that can be changed immediately but if we implement
The youth of the nation are both the backbone and living representation of what the future will hold. A teacher once told me, that the reason why she teaches is because the knowledge she gives us will greatly affect the world and she hopes it is for a positive effect. Education is essential for a nation to survive and thrive. What that education consists of is determined by what society views as important for the future. Therefore, why is it that the government is more concerned about funding and the other nation 's views than on the young 's people is education. Terrell Bell said the reason for A Nation at Risk, was to convince the Regan administration that the Department of Education is necessary. A Nation at Risk was a masterpiece of propaganda
To start things off, teaching can be demanding and rewarding, according to the job description at least. Some general duties of a teacher are going to involve planning lessons, communicating with parents regarding student performance, challenging students and working with them, and preparing students for life after graduation. Being a teacher is almost a 24/7 job. You work the regular school hours but you also use your weekends and holidays to plan lessons and grade papers. The general school schedule is a ten month school year with a two month summer break, a five week winter break. Your working environment will depend on the type of school in which you decide to teach. There are many types of schools from which to choose. You could teach at a magnet school, public school, private school, or even a charter school. There are always advantages and disadvantages of every career path you look at; some can be deal breakers. Some advantages of being a teacher are seeing your students gain and apply new knowledge and skills, job security after tenure, an...
When I reached into my mailbox and pulled out the November 3rd issue of Time Magazine my usual delight quickly vanished. ROTTEN APPLES. IT’S NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIRE A BAD TEACHER. SOME TECH MILLIONAIRES MAY HAVE FOUND A WAY TO CHANGE THAT. Aside from taking this sensationalized, narrow-in-scope, attack on teachers personally, I was dumbfounded by the subtitle. Tech millionaires will solve our nation’s problem of bad teachers…wealthy one-percenters will control societal perspectives of the nation’s education system by putting a spotlight on teachers so major issues like poverty and racism will go unnoticed.
...y are helping pass down their knowledge that they had learned in that particular subject. They also receive full medical and dental care and a retirement plan. Some of the drawbacks of teaching however are that it can be tiring and difficult at times. Teachers are also under a tremendous amount of stress from parents, administrations and themselves. However, every teacher has his or her good and bad days.
In my life, my favorite teachers were always the ones who taught lessons inside and outside the classroom. They taught us about our past, our language and the world around us for tests and quizzes while also teaching us how to navigate through life with their lessons that weren’t needed for our grades. For me, I wanted to be that kind of person. I knew I wanted to help others when they needed help, and I knew I wanted to do that as a teacher.
First of all, a teacher works for 10 months in a year, and has off when the kids have off. During the off time teachers have time to further their education or upgrade their new teaching license (Elementary School Teachers). The days off are not just the only benefit that a teacher has. The starting salary is about $53,950. Through extracurricular activities teachers can earn earn a bigger salary. According to Ferguson 's Career Guidance Center in an article titled Elementary School Teachers,“Teachers often supplement their earnings through teaching summer classes, coaching sports, sponsoring a club” (Elementary School Teachers). Having a high salary is a major benefit when going into a career field. If a person starts off with a high salary it is a positive thing because they start off with a good income and over the years raises will be even
Education is the most important topic when its comes to sucessful careers and job opportunities. There are many people who has an education but do not know anything compared to those who know alot, it all falls down under the learning and teaching styles and techniques of different schools and teachers. Compared to other countries the United States lags in mathematics, reading, and science. Education is seen as unsuccessful. There are several ways of improving student outcomes in education. One way is to take advantage of the opportunity provided by No Child Left Behind Act(NCLB), another way is to provide educators with incentives that adopt to practice of instructional regimes, and the last way is to increase investments in early childhood education for children.
“I wanted to become a teacher to be able to make a positive difference on the future of children. For me, it is fulfilling challenge, stimulating the next generation to become lifelong learners. I have always been grateful to my mom (who is a retired teacher) for implanting values in me. I feel I should contribute what I have learned and experienced over the years. This way I will be paying back and at the same time can fulfill my desire of enhancing the education system.”
Becoming a teacher has been the ultimate aspiration for myself since the first day I walked into kindergarten. As a very timid student, it was a difficult task transitioning from being with my mother everyday, to being part of a classroom environment full of strangers. However, my kindergarten teacher helped me through this transition smoothly, and adequately. I very quickly learned to love school. Soon after, I knew I would aspire to become a teacher. I would spend countless hours at home with a blackboard, acting as a teacher to my imaginary students throughout my elementary school years.
In my five years of teaching at Falling Creek Middle School I have seen and meet many substitute teachers. Some substitutes are in the building for a day while, another has served as a long term teacher. Furthermore, this service is provided for teachers, instructional assistants, bus drivers and cafeteria workers who have to miss a day from work for a number of reasons. But, at what cost to the school district? With this in mind, I have always wondered how many days teachers are absent on the average from school, what day are missed the most, what is the cost to the district for substitute teachers, what is the pay rate for substitute, the impact on student when teachers are absent and do substitute receive any benefits.
From birth, education is what allows for our development. Newborns are already learning after exiting the womb as they start familiarizing themselves with their new environment. Theoretically, education is supposed to be the tool that allows for self-improvement. The modern education system reassures us that one’s background does not define their future. In America, education is one as the factor that gives all its citizens equal opportunity. The idea of anyone being able to create their own path to success regardless of their origin is what has attracted people from overseas and can be why America is commonly known as “the land of immigrants”. Whether it is education in a classroom or from personal experiences, it is what allows us to become knowledgeable of the world we live and people we interact with. Education is supposed to give people the opportunity to better ones self and obtain the skills and the knowledge deemed worthy in obtaining upward mobility. Education reformist Horace Mann once stated: “education, then, beyond all other devices of human origin, is the great equalizer of the conditions, -- the balance-wheel of the social machinery.” -------(distinguish education and schooling- somehow) However, has education system only been set in place to meet the needs of industrialism? In this day in age, people students are attending schools in order to someday be employed in order to live a comfortable life. Public schools are teaching students in a manner where creativity and critical thinking are being denounced. Instead, the main goal is producing high standardized test scores. Students are being taught to equate the notion of becoming successful as a product of schooling (Gatto, 150).
Teaching is a daunting task that I do not intend to take lightly. Becoming a teacher has been a dream of mine for several years. I always knew that teaching would be the career for me, especially when I began working in the school system as a substitute secretary. I loved working in the school environment; coming in contact with children everyday made me realize how much I would enjoy teaching a classroom full of students.
Education has played an important role in people’s lives and receiving the best education is a right to all humans, but now in days we can see that our education system is in deep distress. This is made evident by the low rate of graduates; that’s why our education system needs to be improved. Many people think that our government is responsible for our bad education system, However, teachers are the real issue even though many teachers are saying they 're doing their best, they’re not. How do we improve our education system? For a start, we need to provide better teaching programs for teachers to improve their skills and make them earn their tenure instead of just giving it to them.
