Most people are either unaware, or refuse to look at the facts concerning animal abuse. Animal abuse is the immoral and necglectful treatment that threatens the life on an animal. This unethical behavior is often expressed through corporate methods of producing products made from animals. The food and beauty industry are notorious offenders of the welfare of living beings. Evidence has shown that there are well known, multi-billion dollar industries that have been torturing innocent and voiceless animals in secrecy all around the globe. Humans often benefit from these creatures through commercial means, but think little of the agony these animals must endure from the bloodshed. If society is not willing to give up it's exploitative tendencies towards the lives of animals, big and small, then stricter laws need to be enforced defending the animals, and consumers have to be made aware of the atrocities that have been taking place.

Big name companies that are in charge of the mass production of animal products used for human consumption are often guilty of commiting animal abuse. Sadly, the people in charge of regulating these companies practices, like the USDA, make the regulations very flexible and choose to keep quiet about what goes on behind the closed doors of these factory farms. About 56 billion animals are rasied and slaughtered for food each year; Cows, pigs, and chickens make up the vast majority of animals that are killed for the meat industry world wide. The factory farms that produce the majority of the meat we consume makes life a living hell for the animals raised there. Just because we need to exploit animals, doesn't mean we have to abuse them though. Large companies who make up the majority of the food and fashion industry have the means to take better care of these animals but unfortunatly, money speaks loudly in the minds of buisiness officials. That is why the pubic needs to be more aware of whats going on, and lend their voices to the voicelss animals trapped in the palms of the industry leaders. With strict government intervention, farm factories and skin farmers could be forced to stop cutting corners when it comes to the welfare of these animals and eventually animals will be able to live more comfortable, healthy, and natural lives before giving themselves up to fulfil our consumer needs.

Animals trapped in factory farms are severely abused and tortured from birth to death. Chickens sometimes will be starved for up to 2 weeks and given no water to shock their bodies into moulting, chickens and hens will have their beaks removed to prevent fighting between other animals. Pigs will get their tails cut off to stop other pigs biting them off. These cruel procedures are done to minimise as few of animals dying as possible so more product can be created by the farmer. Within factory farms, animals are abused with overuse of antibiotics to prevent disease and maximise their body growth to create a higher yield of product.
