Animals Should be Loved and not Neglected
You work with abused, neglected animals everyday, so when you get home you'd love to be away from that all, but your next door neighbor feels a different way. At night when you're trying to relax, you hear him screaming at his dog, and then there it is; the dog yelping out for help. You so badly want to help that poor animal but you don't know what to do. You think to yourself how sick that person must be to abuse his animal that way, but if all you do is sit there and allow it to happen, doesn't that make you just as sick? Many people would argue against that, but they're just as wrong as the people that abuse animals. Domestic animal abuse laws need to be enforced, because abuse is a large problem. Abuse happens for several reasons whether it is abuse of a household pet, for profit, or abuse of livestock. There are laws that have been put into effect to prevent animal abuse, but there are still several advances to be made.
Cruelty to animals, also called animal abuse or animal neglect, is the intentional infliction of agony or harm upon animals for intents other than self-defense or survival. It can be harm for particular gain, for example, killing animals for food or for their fur, although opinions differ with respect to the method of slaughter. It usually encompasses inflicting harm for personal amusement. Laws concerning animal cruelty are designed to prevent unnecessary abuse to animals, rather than killing for other aims such as food, or they are about types of animals not eaten, such as pets. The animal welfare position holds that there is nothing wrong with using animals for purposes, such as food, clothing, entertain...

...ls' experience is suffering because they are not primates or humans (Vining). Animal cruelty such as scoring, which is legally restricted, sometimes occurs on farms and ranches, as dows lawful but cruel treatment such as livestock branding ("Cruelty to Animals"). The criminal of cruelty to farm animals would itself have sufficient effect to warrant reintroduction. Criminalizing cruelty to farm animals would change what good faith decision making on behalf of a corporation would be, most especially in the design and internal administration of process and practices. Criminalizing cruelty to farm animals should be the first step in confronting this crisis of suffering we as a society have allowed to happen (Vining). This however, simply be a reflection of the weak protections afforded to livestock under state animal cruelty laws ("Animal Cruelty Facts and Statistics").
Animals are used today for many sources of protection, food, clothing, transportation, sports, entertainment, and labor, but millions of these animals die each year from abuse. “Most of the reasons that people give for denying animals rights are: animals do not have souls, god gave humans dominion over the animals, humans are intellectually superior to animals, humans are intellectually superior to animals, animals do not reason, think, or feel pain like humans do, animals are a natural resource to used as humans see fit, and animals kill each other” (Evans). It all started in the nineteenth century, when people began abusing animals by beating them, feeding them poorly, providing them with no shelter or poor shelter, left to die if they were sick or old, or by cruel sports. Most of the organized efforts to improve human treatment of animals all started in England. Around the 1800s, there was signs of rising concern for animal welfare in the United States.
“There can be many reason for animal cruelty, like any other form of violence, is often committed by a person who feels powerless, unnoticed, or under control of others. Some who are cruel to animals copy acts what they have seen or that have been done to them, others see harming an animal as a safe way to get revenge against--or threaten-- someone who cares about that animal”. (“Animal… Statistics”) Concerns towards abusing animals have gone up in the past. Although there are not many cases on animal abuse, many have occurred. Abusers are charged with Criminal Animal Abuse and then sentenced to life in prison. Some animals that are physically abused are sometimes rescued by Animal Control, and are taken it to an animal shelter. However, many shelters have not had the space to keep the animals so the workers would have to put them down (Carol Roach). Researchers have shown that the main animals getting abused are dogs, chickens, horses, and livestock (“Animal...

The abuse that animals endure at human hands is heartbreaking, sickening, and infuriating. Animals are just as delicate as humans, so why not abuse us too? Animal lives should be just important as ours. No animals should be killed or abused for testing, entertaining, clothing, or hoarding. Every year, millions of animals are being killed and torture for testing.
...are loyal companions and deserve the same amount of loyalty and love back. It’s hard to fathom how one can be so cruel to an innocent animal with no reason. Everyone is quick to blame the dog when a child is bitten, or when the dog is loud and becomes a nuisance to the neighborhood when in reality, the owner is the real problem. There’s no real solution to the issue of dogs being neglected, but it should be brought to people’s attention that if you are not capable of being responsible then you should not be allowed to have the privilege of owning a dog. All dogs really want is attention and love and it’s absolutely heartbreaking that people can even think about harming a dog in any way other than smothering them with affection. We should think about putting the owners on a leash instead of the dogs because I think that their irresponsibility is the real danger here.
Animals in Captivity Seeing tigers jump over each other, elephants balance on a wooden ball, or orcas waving their tails; it can be easy to forget what they are going through. Some think Zoos, Aquariums, Circuses and other places that collects wild animals are like homes. I disagree, I think zoos are more like prisons. According to dictionary.com a prison is: any place of confinement or involuntary restraint.
Animal cruelty is defined as the crime of inflicting pain, suffering, or death on an animal. Humans have been using animals as test subjects in their labs and research for hundreds of years. The oldest evidence of humans testing animals dates back to 500 BC Experimentation on animals wasn’t really questioned or challenged until the around the 1900s, people owned more domesticated animals themselves and an “anti-vivisection” (opposed to testing on live animals) campaign swept the nation ("Why Do Companies Test Cosmetics or Other Products on Animals?"). People became more interested in the subject of animal testing and whether it was ethical or not. One subject that numerous people felt unhappy about was the countless number of animals that
st imagine if you were an animal not being loved or being forced to do something that you wouldn’t want to do. This is how millions of people are treating animals today. It is dissatisfactory for people to do this to other living things. Most humans use animal in many ways to survive. Humans health and animal research to medical science are undeniable…..
In the Bahamas, a study was done by the College of Bahamas, and it states that, “.dogs were equally likely to be considered members of the household in homes without domestic violence,” (Fielding 197). Animal abuse is a very controversial topic in recent times. Numerous crimes against animals have stirred up the activists who are trying to punish people for animal abuse. Save the Animals How boring would the world be without wildlife? Why should we have to kill endangered animals to help save them? One must be aware of how some magnificent big and small animals are coming close to extinction. The cause of this tragedy is due to trophy hunting, meaning that hunters only kill for the head or certain body parts of the animal. There are many reasons why it may be acceptable to have trophy hunting, but also how it can damage the wildlife, making them face extinction at an alarming rate.
All creatures deserve life free from fear and pain. Animal abuse can be intentional harm or failure to take care of an animal. Either way, the animal can suffer tremendously. The facts back that with a stricter law on animal cruelty we can stop this ramped increase in crime and help but those people away who need help mentally. There are two different types of animal cruelty: neglect and intentional cruelty. “Neglect is the failure to provide adequate water, food, shelter, or necessary care” (What is Animal Cruelty?). Some examples of neglect would be: starvation; dehydration; inadequate shelter; parasite infestations; or even failure to seek veterinary care when an animal is in need of medical attention.
There are a variety of different opinions and moral positions that divide people all around the world when it comes to the controversial subject of how the human race chooses to exploit animals. Animals deserve the same rights as humans, yet the treatment of animals in today’s society should result in farms, companies, and even whole industries being sued for the reprehensible treatment that is practiced daily. My question is, why do we protect and hold various animals in high esteem, but continuously deprive other animals of their basic gift of life? Why is it a common belief that some animals hold more right to live a free and happy life than others? Why has the human race come to the conclusion that we can play god and dictate mass slaughter,
