Animal Doctors vs Doctors
Many people strive to become doctors, nurses, surgeons, and even a dentist. Other people who are in the field of being an animal doctor can say that being a veterinarian is just as like being a doctor. Just like there are doctors for sick human beings there are doctors for sick animals. Becoming a veterinarian is just as fun and beneficial as being a doctor. Both careers require a lot of hard work in their undergraduate years and a lot of hands of experience. Even though doctors may make a slightly a lot more money than veterinarians do giving health to animals is just as beneficial to the world then giving good health humans.

Over the years many species of animals become extinct due to human cause or environmental causes. Human being also have a big part in the world by inventing different technology to make life easier, discovering different ways to keep the world healthy, and even helping animals. Even though humans aren’t on the verge of extinction as animals are without doctors we wouldn’t be able to find ways to reduce the death rate. Many diseases are discovered every day and it’s up to doctors to find cures and treatment for these diseases for humans and animals. According to James Roth he says(Roth.34) “Veterinary vaccines have had, and continue to have, a major role in protecting animal health and public health, reducing animal suffering, enabling efficient production of food animals to feed the burgeoning human population, and greatly reducing the need for antibiotics to treat food and companion animals”. Veterinarians insure the best treatment for animals just like doctors do for humans so they can play their part for the world keep things …show more content…
Being a veterinarian and becoming a doctor is just as beneficial and an equal experience. Giving good health to a sick animal or a sick person is a good career path either way. The journey to this career path is just as fun, but requires equal amount of hard work and commitment to become a doctor or a vet. A veterinarian salary is not as high as a salary of a doctors. Even though veterinarians do not make as much as doctors do but working with sick animals is just as beneficial as what doctors
Veterinary technicians are like the techies of the theatre; the organization would be able to function without them, but it would be much harder. Things run a lot more smoothly with vet techs. There are multiple benefits that come with being a veterinary technician. These benefits include, but are not limited to, a high job outlook, great room for advancement, and only two years of schooling (depending on the route you take). Above all, the animals, who aren’t always able to help themselves, are being taken care of.
First I would like to state that any career in a medical field takes a lot of dedication and many hours studying and it is not for everyone. I would also like to say once an individual has made a career out of it the job has long hours and can be very stressful, so I suggest readers to not consider a career in medicine unless you are genuinely interested in the work, and are not in it just for the money.
The duties and responsibilities a Veterinary Technician has to be able to work any day at any time just like a paramedic. Also a Vet Technician has to keep animals happy while in treatment at the clinic. “On any given day that I am in surgery I wil...
For as long as I can remember, my childhood dream has always been wanting to become a veterinarian. While other kids were outside having fun at the playground, I was at the library reading books and learning about the different animals. However, as I matured, I realized that being a veterinarian isn’t just about caring for and assisting injured animals. Being a veterinarian means having the ability to make quick decisions in stressful situations, showing complete dedication and passion to this profession, and being able to effectively communicate to pet owners.
In order to be a large animal veterinarian you must have to complete at least four years of college. You do not need a masters degree, only a bachelor’s degree.Your undergraduate education should mostly focus on the following: biology, zoology, physiology, anatomy, and microbiology. Colleges and universities, such as Colorado State University and the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Science are well known for their veterinary medicine programs. These school are just a few among many schools that have good programs in veterinary medicine.
For anyone to become a veterinarian, one must have all the necessary requirements for both education and on the job training. During high school, science courses are highly recommended. After high school, one must obtain their doctor of veterinary medicine degree. To achieve this goal, Ferguson’s Career Guidance Center says one must “attend 4 years at college of veterinary medicine, complete 45-90 hours of undergraduate study, and must pass at least one examination in the state at in which they intend to practice” (3-4 2014). During a person’s schooling, Veterinarians are expected to make decent grades and to show an interest for learning the sciences as well as technology. Besides having the education, a person must also indulge in some training both on the job and in shadowing experiences. Most if not all training will be completed in veterinarian school and will allow the veterinarian to start working right away. “According to the 2006-07 edition of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Outlook Handbook, in 2004 annual sala...
Through my experiences, I have learned the reality of veterinary medicine. It is not about playing with puppies and kittens. My clients might not appreciate me, my patients might be difficult, I may get frustrated, and I might not make much money. Yet veterinary medicine is about more than that. It is a career with purpose, a lifelong source of challenge, personal growth, fulfilled academic curiosity, and opportunities to impact lives, both human and animal. In return, I offer a strong scientific aptitude, along with a diverse background and natural empathy. It will not be easy, but a degree in veterinary medicine is, without a doubt, my next pivotal step in
Working with animals is my passion; I want to protect, save, and help animals. Deciding on whether to go to college to become a veterinarian or a veterinary technician can be a difficult decision; however I chose veterinary technician. The cost of school, years of schooling, and the duties that are required for the day can affect that decision.
When I was growing up and always playing with animals, I realized what I might want to do with my life. Since animals are, for the most part, vulnerable and helpless, they need someone to take care of them. For animals in need to survive and carry on, there must be a caring person willing to take time out of their day to care for these animals. This person is responsible for providing care such as feeding, cleaning, giving water and administering medication to animals in veterinary offices, zoos, laboratories or animal hospitals. This person is called a veterinary assistant (Writer).
Being a veterinarian is a great career choice because of the great interactions with varied types of animals, the amount of aid you can supply them, and the great feeling after helping the injured or sickly animals to their health. Some of the top vet schools are Cornell University (#1 in Ithaca, NY), UC Davis (#2 Davis, CA), and Colorado State University (#3 in Fort Collins, CO).
Veterinarians can be employed by government agencies and the food indudtry to cater to meat and milk producers to ensure that the herd is healthy and that the product is suitable for human consumption. These veterinarians deal with many animals like ovine (sheep), poultry, porcine (swine) and bovine
For thousands of years scientist have been performing vivisections on animals to find information on new chemicals, drugs, and vaccines. Vivisection is when scientist perform dissections among living animals mostly for the purpose of educating and retrieving information. Experimenting on animals has become the tool that has helped us comprehend the body functions of an animal and how a disease transforms the bodily functions, but over the years it’s caused animal rights activists to question the usefulness and the sincerity of using animals for this purpose. Although animal research has been helpful in the past, it is morally wrong in the sense that experimenting on animals is not the only way to collect information. There are other alternatives
Veterinary Science or Veterinary Medicine is a specialty on treatment or diagnosis on the health of domesticated and wild animals. Veterinarians also ensure to prevent transmission of animal’s diseases to people. Vaccines are used to protect people entirely from disease, but “.vaccines exist for just a fraction of the 300 known infectious viruses” (Vaida). Only protecting against a few diseases is not enough to protect the world from a pandemic. There should be a surplus of vaccines to prepare for any major outbreak of diseases. The “. scarcity of vaccines for fast-spreading diseases.” is a threat, due to the fact that the world does not have a safety net to fall back on (Vaida). Without a strong supply of vaccines that can treat a wide variety of diseases, the world will not be prepared to defend against a pandemic.
There are hundreds of known infectious diseases in the world. These infectious diseases range from rather mild and unthreatening to severe, life-threatening diseases that can leave the victim with long-term disabilities. Good news for the seven billion people on Earth, scientists developed vaccines to prevent and protect against these fatal diseases. The creation of modern day vaccines began in the 1700’s with the first vaccines saving countless lives from smallpox. Vaccines save lives; lives of those vaccinated and lives of those not able to be vaccinated.
