People all over are adopting working from home. Mothers especially are appealed by the idea of taking care of their home and bring in income. From the outside, it may look as a laissez faire kind of adventure but in retrospect, it is serious work. Working from home requires self-discipline, without it the “freedom “that it offers could turn into a draining venture that does not compensate. Take yourself seriously. The idea of working from home paints the freedom that you the corporate jobs do not offer. However to be productive there is need to take it a notch higher. Avoid waking up, staggering, getting your computer, and start working. Establish a morning routine, wake up meditate prepare breakfast shower and put on decent clothes and start working. Having a laptop on your bed while still in the blankets is not working. Set aside a working space to activate the brain such that when you are headed to the table the brain instantly registers that it is time to work. If anything it can isolate you from the people around you. Take time to be there for your friends, call them regularly to catch up and be there when they need you. Working form home constantly needs people around you to encourage and applaud you. Ensure that you are not over critical or judgmental on your friends who are employed or work in offices. Be open minded enough to embrace that each person ha their journey. It is also wise to network widely with people who are working from home, this gives you a good leverage to talk and share idea with others. You can work, but so much until it starts to affect things at home. I also believe if you want your child to have a good life then you need at least one parent at home not a babysitter or nanny. Also both parents need to equally contribute to the needs of each other and the child if both parents want to work full time

Telecommuting has positives and negatives psychologically. Some positives include staying home with children; more free time, and making your own schedule, etc. Some say that looks very inviting. Many people, employees and managers, don't look at the negatives (no set times, difficulty communicating, being looked upon as a slacker, no face to face contact and so on) before they volunteer for their chance at freedom.
We all know public school has its issues. There can be rude people or horrible teachers. Each person is forced to learn the exact same and act like one person. No one is an individual and is forced to act as a machine. Sadly these “machines” are humans, and do not work like a perfect robot. It is common knowledge that many students struggle in public school due to the fact they are not taught in a way to fit their needs. They end up declining in their studies and it is as if they are destined to fail. Paper work and long term considerations for companies may actually be planned better at home as opposed to a busy work office or cubicle. Professionals such as accountants, consultants, marketing professionals and other information-age workers can benefit from telecommuting (people who work at home). Screen free week? May, sound terrible for most teens to stay even a day without technology , well I understand them but technology is harming you, your family, pretty much all of us. The reasons are that, “technology is rewiring our brains,” and making us lack in concentration and focusing. As I walk into school, I expect most people to say, “Good morning” or “Hi, how are you,” but instead what I usually get is silence. Clusters of kids stand together, but many times they aren’t talking; they just huddle up and look at their phones. It’s weird to me that most kids when asked would say they’re social, but are they? What I see is an addiction. While some may say they’re not addicted to technology, but just find it to be a convenience, it’s obvious it has become a worldwide addiction.
Often overlooked is the impact telecommuting has on the environment. One great advantage for the environment is the conservation of energy. With a great deal of energy is required to produce a vast amount of transportation vehicles such as automobiles, buses and subways. The fuel required to operate these vehicles would be reduced. An employee also is also a great consumer of energy, once at an office, the office building has heating, cooling, and lighting needs. When magnified, the energy use can be great. Whereas working from home requires only a minimal amount of energy use for heating, cooling, and lighting needs. For every advantage, most of the time there are disadvantages associated with it.
The workplace today goes beyond just the walls and ceilings that surround an office environment or office building. According to the International Telework Association and Council, 44.4 million Americans worked from home at least part of the time in 2004, up 7.5% from just on year earlier (Earthweb, 2005). Though it may be very convenient to work from home, the choice can bring its own set of problems. There are financial reasons, efficiencies, and even managing time are just a few to name that bring about many challenges and issues that any remote employee would face in that type of work environment.
What is telecommuting, and why would anyone want to either be employed by or employ others to work from their home? The telecommuting employees are “Salaried employees of an organization replace or modify the commute by working at home or a location closer to home than the regular workplace, generally using ICT to support productivity and communication with the supervisor, co-workers, clients, and other colleagues.” (Hoang, Nickerson, Beckman, & Eng, 2008) and according to studies 47 percent of telecommuting workers report that they are more productive while working from home due to a lessening of stress and increased satisfaction in their career - while their employers glean the benefit of saving 63 percent of the cost of absenteeism and save thousands of dollars annually over traditionally employed workers. (Potter, 2003) While some may say that in order to function properly in a workplace you have to be in the workplace, with minor adjustments in technology on both the employer’s and employee’s part telecommuting has become a proven, viable way for businesses to function profitably while their workforce remains able to reduce the stress of commuting on their personal and family lives.

Technology is making us less intelligent, oblivious to our surroundings, and antisocial.
There has always been a dilemma for women: to work and give financial support for the family or to stay at home, bring up children and keep the household’s prosperity being a housewife. Traditionally, a female role in the family is to be a homemaker, the watcher of the hearth and home. For centuries women asserted their rights for equality and proved themselves to be not only good housewives, but bread winners as well. For some females work is a devotion to their career, for others it is the only way to survive. But the fact is, that more and more women prefer to be workers rather than homemakers for different reasons: from gaining financial independence and self-esteem by means of the career development to necessity to work due to the money shortage.
