Houston is the city that I used to live in on the outskirts of Houston; however, after I have blogged about Houston since day one I have learned a great deal in Houston and where it came from. Houston is a diverse city which is main up of all kinds of race, ethnic background, and religious. It is a great city to settle down and have a family in the suburban. It also a great city to start a career in the medical field, due to all the hospitals around the area. Houston is the “fourth most populous city in the nation” and “the largest in the southern U.S. and Texas.” Houston also has many places that you can go and explore and different attractions you can go to spend time with friends and family. Did you know Houston has “More than 90 languages
Houston is a popular city with a lot to do and see; Houston is a great place for everyone. It also has many cultural attractions. Houston is a beautiful place to visit especially when the climate is mild.
There are many gratifying factors that attract people to the state of Texas which allows it to be one of the most diverse demographic systems in the United States. The most imperative influences in Texas’ are the prosperous business settings in its major cities, the vast amount of land and rich natural resources, and the convenient central location in the United States. All of these factors are attractive to citizens throughout the states and immigrants looking to migrate into the country. These features can cause a state to have major fluctuations in its demographics in regards to race, income, and age.
Galveston, first visited by French and Spanish explorers in the 16th and 17th centuries, is located on Galveston Island, a 29-mile strip of land about two miles off the Texas coast and about 50 miles southeast of Houston. The city was named in the late 18th century for the Spanish governor of Louisiana, Bernardo de Galvez. Galveston is a commercial shipping port and, with its warm weather and miles of beaches, has also long been a popular resort. Galveston’s nickname at the time was Oleander City, which was filled with tourist at the time of the disaster.
Texas is considered a colossal state with a great potential. Students from grades K-12 even through college, under all conditions, suffer greatly on school necessities like supplies, college loans, or possibly even transportation ways. Students up in northern states have it easy on how their parents can support their needs because the fact that the economy is so much better than down in the south.
From all the three distinct characterized political subcultures the moralistic political subculture, individual political subculture and traditionalistic political subculture I believe that Houston is both individualistic and traditionalisticpolitical subculture. There many reasons that pushed me to that conclusion, some of these reasons are crystal clear if you are walking in Houston down town you would see all of things that do not add up together meaning seeing a Latino or Hispanic restaurants next to a complex apartment building by itself or a club next to a complex building, or even a dentist next to a bar therefore Houston in known for its lake of zoning. Also in old neighborhoods many of the residents set up a town meeting to decide
Texas is the size of Ohio, Indiana, and all the New England and Middle Atlantic states combined, and its vast area encompasses forests, mountains, deserts and dry plains, and a long, humid, subtropical coastal lowland. Texas's wealth of mineral resources is almost unequaled among the other states. Its rapid economic development stimulated by these resources and its vast size have made Texas an American legend. Oil wells, chemicals, ranches, and cattle have played a major part in that legend.
My first experience with Texas was around 1983 when I visited the state. I was traveling quite extensively at that time and most of Texas was included in those travels. I had previously been in several other states in our nation but none seemed to compare to the great State of Texas. Things were just different in Texas. The people were different, the culture was different and the image of Texas, portrayed by the people, past and present is equal to no others.
Empowered figures in this great land speak of equality. Of fairness under the laws, or of liberty and justice for all, or that all men, as far as governmental jurisdiction is concerned, are created equal. But I say to you – This is far from the truth, though perhaps it is an untruth many would presume necessary for the good of society. Good people sharing my race are condemned to nigh infinite torment that departs only in death. Why must my children live in a society that dictates one’s fate on the basis of appearance over heart? Why, after having become forty years of age, is this a piece of the very fabric we have constructed our society upon? This must not be, for it goes against the very ideas of equality that
I grew up hearing about the city of Montgomery and how it is known as one of the most historical cities in United States. The best things to visit here are the Montgomery Zoo, Alabama State Capitol, First White House of Confederacy, Civil Rights Memorial, and the RSA Tower. It is also home to the Jubilee Cityfest, an annual music festival that features a wide range of notorious performers, like Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum, John Mayer, and Bruno Mars. The RSA Tower is the most prominent feature of Montgomery's skyline, standing at 375 ft.
There are over forty thousand restaurants in Florida alone. That being said, out of all of the restaurants to dine at, Texas Roadhouse is by far my personal favorite. The staff that works there are always very friendly with their customers and are always willing to make any improvements that are needed. The entire atmosphere of the restaurant appeals to the southern part of the states and it always has classic country music playing. By far the best reason for dining at Texas Roadhouse is, of course, the food, they have a wide variety of steaks on the menu and multiple sides that are always delicious.
We are all familiar with sugar. It is sweet, delicious, and addictive; yet only a few of us know that it is deadly. When it comes to sugar, it seems like most people are in the mind frame knowing that it could be bad for our health, but only a few are really taking the moderate amounts. In fact, as a whole population, each and everyone of us are still eating about 500 extra calories per day from sugar. Yes, that seems like an exaggerated number judging from the tiny sweet crystals we sprinkle on our coffee, but it is not. Sugar is not only present in the form of sweets and flavourings, it is hidden in all the processed foods we eat. We have heard about the dangers of eating too much fat or salt, but we know very little about the harmful effects of consuming too much sugar. There still isn’t any warnings about sugar on our food labels, nor has there been any broadcasts on the serious damages it could do to our health. It has come to my concern during my research that few
I should receive a passing grade in this class because I can write now. Not just an exaggeration, but after another semester of English I finally feel confident that can write. Three of the reasons behind my confidence is I learned, I experienced and best of all I repeated. These three values helped prepare me for what is in store in English 1302 and here is why.
