It can promote many healthy things for children. Having even one sibling is something that the kids want, and it helps them out a lot in the long run. Siblings are important because they can teach their younger siblings, it provides a friend, and it is an easy way for kids to escape their parents at certain times. To begin, siblings can help teach other. Everyone makes mistakes. If this mistake is done by the older sibling, the younger one is able to learn from that mistake. Another example of teaching one another is in school. Typically, siblings go to the same school, and so the older one can help the younger one with problems they may face doing homework. Finally, siblings can teach other lessons such as sharing. Having a sibling can be hard, but value social lessons are learned. Overall, siblings help each other learn. Siblings are also a “built-in friend.” When there is a sibling involved, someone is always there. An example of this is at home. When friends are not available, the sibling is. Having a sibling is a bond that can never be replaced. Knowing that that sibling is there can bring happiness to someone. Finally, happiness is increased with a sibling because of the connections that are made. It seems that every sibling doesn’t always have a great relationship with their older or younger siblings. In the movie “Real Women Have Curves”, we have two sisters, Anna and Estella,who seem not to get along in the beginning because of their differences, but at the end they become the best of friends because they have similar dreams and learn to support each other. The advantage of Anna and Estella’s relationship is that they benefit from each other. The whole story is that you don’t always realize how much you have in common with your siblings until you realize that you have similar dreams and can be there for each other.
