Apparently, T is a humble and sociable person. She makes everyone like her by her way of talking that is courtesy and humor. For instance, when I talk to T, she always tells funny stories to make me smile. T is a social person so I can feel close when talking to each other. She always helps everyone around him who faced difficulties. In contrast, A is a quiet and strict person. To explain, she is not a friendly person, so A does not have many friends, as T. Everyone feels unfamiliar and careful when talking to A. A, who hears too many, speaks to few. She is a type of person that likes to listen more than talk. No one dares joke with her because of her strictness. However, A who always has profound thoughts looks like old persons. Clearly, with two different personalities so T and A also have different dreams and goals in life. A likes having a simple life. For example, she thinks that studying university is not necessary, so he did not go to university. She took the language courses instead. Thus now she speaks fluency three languages. A enjoys traveling and explore the world to learn other people cultures. That’s why she became a tour guide and also an interpreter as her part-time job. People always say never judged a person by their cover, yet some of us still do it without even trying sometimes. I have done this on multiple occasions without really trying to judge a person. I once had an experience where I was trying out for a new club team and I saw this girl who looked really mean and scary because of the expression on her face. I always thought if I ever talk to her she would be mean, but one practice we started to talk and she wasn’t at all the person I thought she ways. It turns out that she is a nice person who just takes soccer very seriously. This just shows that we can have a certain opinion on someone by their looks, but they may be completely opposite from the way they appear.There’s this book call “Freak the Mighty” which has a good way of showing the theme of not judging a person
I suppose many of us would stumble on the question. In fact, it is really very difficult to define Personality in the real sense. Day and night, we see people all around us. We meet them; we talk to them; we discuss with them and share our feelings with many of them. But in spite of all these we sometimes fail to judge the personality of the person right in front of us.
Everybody's personality is different. Some may be extraversion's or narcissists, low self-monitoring or high self-monitoring and the list goes on. During this semester, taking Personality Theories has thought me more about myself than I have learned in my whole life. I believe that my personality stems from my family environment, my friends and society and then I get to choose what I think to be morally correct and what fits with my personality the best.
For many years, there has been a debate in which whether or not personality plays a role in the workplace, in areas like “teamwork, job-fit, leadership, service, sales, and overall performance and satisfaction” (Furnham, 2008). Personality is an important topic for human resources and training professionals to consider during the hiring process and employee development. Employees’ personalities might have a significant impact on an organization’s performance. Therefore, I believe using personality tests in a workplace is necessary.
One of the biggest factors in the cultivation of an individual’s personality is their past. The past is the road that delivered the individual to where they are today and will affect where they are going in the future. Mine shaped the characteristics that define me and made me the person that I am today.
I chose to take a self-objective personality assessment on Outofservice.com to analyze my own personality traits. A series of 60 questions were asked for to me to rate my behavior a scale of 1 through 5 to determine my personality. Questions ranged from, how I am at parties to how much I care for others. The website uses the Five-Factor Model to understand the way people’s personalities differ from one another’s, the same model used in general psychology. I was given a percent and a brief description on my behavior in the traits of Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism. Type A Personality or Type A Behavior Pattern (TABP) include typical responses of competitiveness, time urgency, and hostility. Type A’s normally strive towards a goal without feeling a sense of joy in their efforts or accomplishments. They also seem to be in a constant struggle against the clock and become impatient with any delays and unproductive time. Type A’s also tend to see the worse in others and display anger, envy and lack of compassion (McLeod, 2017).
My personality ENTJ that's it, but what is that exactly? According to the Humanmetrics Jung Typology Test online I am a slight extravert, intuitive, thinking and judging person. Some might even say I am arrogant and straightforward which and I tend to be “on-duty” all the time which are also traits that were affirmed. I feel sure they did not score my answers correctly as I consider myself more an introvert. Before I began taking the online test I thought I was an open-minded and optimistic person with tendencies to be more creative versus organized with a high preference for introversion, but, after careful reading I was an introvert but have now pushed myself to become a slight extrovert with the test results leaving me feeling empowered that the traits I actually strive for are becoming my beliefs.
I am always getting to class on time and quite in the class. I do not use phone in class neither talk with friends while the teacher is teaching. I always take a long time to do activities and get hard time to make a decision.
In this essay I will describe the four major theories of personality and identify the advantages and disadvantages of each. The first major theory of personality is psychodynamic which was created by Sigmund Freud. The second major theory of personality is trait or five-factor model which is the most scientifically supported model. The third major theory of personality is humanistic, and Carl Rogers was the best known humanistic theorist. Finally, the fourth major theory of personality is social cognitive which was developed by social learning theorists.
The Prentice Hall’s Self-Assessment Online Library contained different assessments that revelead different scores for personality traits and their relation to the workplace. The assessment contained 3 areas of focus, individual evaluation of self, working with others, and life in organizations. After completing the assessments a score was calculated and results were provided. First, I will briefly discuss my results from the various assessments.
