Evaluate your personality and identity development by incorporating three theorist’s views on personality traits whether it's for or against your identity and personality development. My overall personality can be concluded as “unpredictable”. This is so because my personality has been continually changing throughout my life. Firstly, during my early and middle childhood i was a humble and accepting person. My culture and environment greatly influence my personality at this age because the elderly both in my family and community had a big role in nurturing me. I did what they told me no matter what it was, because i was raised to believe that the elders know what's best for me. During my adolescence I became an aggressive and difficult …show more content…
Carl Jung said there's two main types of personality, the introvert and the extrovert. I became an introvert, a person who likes to spend majority of their time by themselves. I become more comfortable with the inner world of my thoughts and feelings rather than the external world. I didn't have play dates, neither was I invited to any, I ate lunch by myself nor was invited to birthday parties, at the time it didn't seemed to bother me. Only thing that mattered was fulfilling the goals set for me by my family since they provided everything I needed and wanted. Most might conclude that being an introvert I mostly will have social and emotional issues. But according to Jung, “Introvert does not necessarily imply that person's social recluse, but rather, they prefer less company over more”. Instead I used the time alone to better myself academically, I had very good grades, won science fairs and spelling bees. My introvert personality traits only became an issue during my adolescent years when I had no choice but to come out of my own internal world to face the outside/external world head on. (Jung
Psychologist and other social experts have come to conclusion that people are divided into two groups; introverts and extroverts are what they call them. It has also been discovered that a person can have both introverted and extroverted traits. The difference between the two groups is how they perceive the external world. An introvert is a person who likes to keep things to themselves and maybe a small group of people that they trust dearly, while extroverts tend to be more outgoing and would prefer a much more social atmosphere (Cooper, B. 2013, para. 4-6).
“ …my first concern must be with the two general types I have termed introverted and extraverted. But, in addition, I shall also try to give a certain characterization of those special types whose particularity is due to the fact that his most differentiated function plays the principal role in an individual's adaptation or orientation to life.” (Jung)
Different people describe the word ‘personality’ differently. Martin et al. (2010,p.610) describes personality as a “particular pattern of behavior and thinking that prevails across time and situations, and differentiates one person from another”. According to Mullins and Christy (2013,p.136), they explain that Personality may be perceived as “consisting of stable characteristics that explains why an individual behaves a certain way. Independence, conscientiousness, agreeableness and self-control are all examples of personality characteristics”. Mullins and Christy (2013, p.136) further explain that we can only identify and understand a person’s personality from listening, watching and observing them. For instance, an independent person may show independence characteristic by demonstrating a strong sense of self-sufficiency. It would be expected that this individual would not be dependable on other people around him and if this is established, it can support the characteristic being a consistent part of the person’s behavior. Individuals are therefore generally consistent in the way they respond to situations. At...

In this society, both introverts and extroverts may feel different as that lack the valued characteristics of the other group. Introverts may be criticized for their lack of social participation as they tend to be over stimulated and overwhelmed when attempting to follow the pace of extroverted peers. Extroverts on the other hand would feel impatient and lonely when energizing situations are not available to them. In conclusion, being an introvert doesn’t make one more inferior than extroverts, both traits are needed in order for a well-balanced society. Regardless of what personality trait you may have, it is important to nurture your own type of personality and adjusting to life as one’s life path should be measured according to your own purpose and values, not external achievements.

Personality tests tell a person a lot about why a person is who they have become. I believe that these test if taken truthfully can identify deficiencies that individuals can work on to benefit not only themselves but others in the organizations that they work in. Some models state that it is in human nature and chemicals that decided how a person acts but I believe it is based on life experiences and a personality can change as long as a person knows the deficiencies and works to change them.
In the day to day life, experiences and connections are made. Many things that occur in one’s life can all stem from their individual personality, but interpreting how one’s personality guides their life presents a difficult challenge. Many actions, quirks, and patterns that a person has are easily noted due to the ability to see it, but the puppeteer behind these habits is an individual’s personality. A certain personality type can affect the perception of certain events and the reactions/feelings to certain outcomes. While one person might see a situation as dreadful, another may see it entirely different. We tend to find ourselves side by side with people we see similarities between due to a parallel in certain traits, but no two individuals are exactly the same based on differences in personality. Success is hinged on many things and one of those things is the development of self-awareness. To know oneself is key to tackling on intimidating tasks and situations, but to also grow in terms of knowledge and synergy. In my attempt to

Personality takes many shapes and forms and is affected by many factors. My understanding of personality is simply a genetic and environmentally determined set of psychological traits that influence our reactions in the world around us. Genetic because our parents possess a certain set of psychological personality traits that we tend to have in common with them so therefore in my opinion there are heritable personality traits. Personality is environmental because we each have our own separate experiences in the world and these experiences help form our unique personality. Neo-Freudians such as Jung have given us a wide array of ideas of how they believe personality is developed and formatted. Jung in particular has a very interesting
Nurture has a more stronger influence on your personality than nature does. They both have a huge role in contributing to your personality development, it is a proven fact. Identical twins have a lot of differences, but also many similarities. Your personality can keep changing while you're growing up. The definition of personality is the development of the organized pattern of behaviors and attitudes that makes a person distinctive.
