Personal Statement: Why I Should Receive A DCU Scholarship

I should receive a DCU because I believe that it will allow me to be able to further my education and pursue my dreams that I have. This scholarship will help me pay for my college tuition and classes. The college I plan on attending will be in North Carolina so I will be paying in state tuition and I’m trying my best to lower the cost of that. I want to major in art or architecture and I plan on working for a major architecture business of even running my own business. If not that then I plan to become a famous artist, I am confident in my ability to do both of those because I have been studying art in high school from the beginning courses all the way to the independent study courses where I choose my own projects. The DCU scholarship is

only one of many that I plan to apply for.
I should receive the DCU scholarship because I am very devoted and committed to doing what I want to do. While playing football all four years of high school it was tough. There were many times where I wanted to give up because it was hard and I didn’t think I could go any longer. But I didn’t quit, I finished my four years glad that I didn't have to look back asking, “I wish I finished?” I love to work. Work for things that I believe in, like community service. I love participating with the community to help out a cause. I do not like to give up on dreams that I desire the most. In order for me to get closer to my dreams I have to apply for many different scholarships so I can cut down on the cost of tuition, so in return I can afford to stay there to get my degree and then go out into the open world and express what I have learned.
