I am writing this letter to have some idea of what I desire out of college, what I hope, want, and must work for to get where I want to go, what things I think I still need to make it academically, what I have learned so far about college, what I worry about, and lastly, who or what can help me during my college experience. To begin, after my years here at UT, I truly desire to receive my Bachelor of Arts degree in criminology with a minor in psychology. I also desire to have a job opportunity because of participation in internships during my junior and/or senior years. Throughout the rest of my time here at UT, I hope, want, and must work towards maintaining my 4.0 GPA by continuing to get A’s in all my classes. Also, I hope, want, and must work towards not procrastinating so much because procrastination is one of my bad habits. …show more content…
Another thing I think I still need is more self-motivation to make it academically because, at times, I feel very unmotivated and feel as though I want to give up and just go back home. However, I learned that college requires perseverance and determination to truly succeed. Thus, in knowing about this requirement, I hope I stop procrastinating and remember to motivate myself. I also learned that college is nothing like high school since there is no one around to constantly remind me to do this task and that assignment; I realize that I have little to no supervision, which then requires me to develop my sense of personal responsibility and awareness as a young adult, and requires me to engage in self-reliance and self-motivation as

My primary short term goal is to get accepted to a well-respected university. Even though admission decisions are virtually out of my hands, I truly believe that I will utilize the resources to their full potential. Additionally, I plan to finish my high school semesters with all A’s (no “senioritis”) and use it to transition into the college course load.
I have always been a straight A student, so my number one academic goal is to maintain that streak all though college. Another goal of mine is to finish my core classes early so I can have a bump free senior year. By taking Dual credit and classes throughout the summer I can reduce my workload later on in the future. A third major goal of mine is to be accepted into the Andy Dekaney National Honors Society. As an active member of the NHS I can become more outgoing and have a chance to give back to the
When any adolescent enters High School they are still young and on the search to find themselves. High Schooler’s often make bad decisions, but quickly see that these mistakes there to be learning experiences rather than to dwell on them. Often, for many students, High School does not present an extreme amount of stress, rather it is a a place to learn more about yourself. Once college hits, stress is the only thing on the mind. College students are always worrying about if they did their homework, if they have a big test coming up, if they studied enough, and if they even have enough money to pay their bills. So the key to college is to know that the fundamentals of college are different than high school, be responsible and reliable to yourself, do all your homework, and most importantly be respectful to your peers and teachers
Many students are struggling in college. According to the New York Times Web site, only 33 percent of the college students are graduating in six years. Obviously students still need much help to succeed in order to get where they want to go. Although college can be challenging, I am going to succeed by using advice from experts, by developing strategies and ideas, and by taking advantage of the benefits offered by my college.

As I am preparing for a new chapter in my life, I have put a lot thought in about what I want out of life and what to look forward to as I get older. In order for one to achieve anything, they need to set goals to reach for. I have a handful of goals for my future, short term and long term, that I will actively work towards in my college years and beyond. In my time at UW Eau Claire, I plan to be involved and engaged in student activities on campus. Being active will help me meet new people, build a better resume, and have fun at college. At UWEC, I would like to get involved in anything musical, along with various clubs and Greek life. Similarly, another goal of mine is to have a job on campus. Having a job will not only help me make some
I will be attending Augusta University studying in the major of Computer Science. The technological world has always been a passion of mine, to the point that I want to in the future work in the field that I am so passionate about. The steps that I have already taken to achieve my future educational goals are applying to several colleges (which I have been accepted to all three), submitting several scholarships, and have met with several people that can help direct me in which path I need to take. Each of the people I have met with have given me valuable information that I need to apply to my educational experience, as well as my future. I will ensure that all of the goals I have set for myself are completed by making sure that all work is due on time and up to day at all times. I will hold myself at a higher level, and keep things neat and more organized, to help me when I study or need to review. Also, I will keep my options open in case there is some adjusting that needs to happen for me to achieve my goals. Finally, the most important thing that will help me achieve my goals is keeping my networking channels open where I can get guidance and opinions about the direction in which I should take my

I have always wanted to make good grades but I never really set any goals but, then I realized that setting academic goals are way more important than people realize . I then started to set goals like my sophomore year of high school after I did that it really helped me focus on my future and what I wanted for myself. My goals I think pushed me so much more academically they opened my eyes a little bit more. One Goal I set was to graduate High school with a Core 40 diploma, which I did, so that is one goal down and a bunch more to go. My senior year I started applying to college but my main goal was to make into Saint Mary-of-the Woods and when I received my acceptance letter I was ecstatic. So far, I am still trying to figure out my academic goals for college but, I do know for sure that I want to succeed in every single way that I can so I can make a better future for myself. A goal that I made this year is to make the dean’s list every single time, for this I will study so hard for every test, do all of my homework, and ask questions when I have them and maybe even getting a tutor. This challenge will probably be really tough but I believe that I can do it if I put my mind to it, and I tend to be a very determined
