Parents,
Welcome to Club Catalyst! I’m really excited about the opportunity to coach your daughter this season. I am looking forward to teaching her the game of volleyball as well as how to work together as a team.
I have been coaching and teaching for 10 years, and I am currently the head coach at Katy Taylor HS. I am a coach who likes to win, and I like to create a competitive environment for my players to get the best out of them. My main focus is developing your daughter into a well-rounded athlete and volleyball player for the next level.
As we begin the season, please make sure your daughter is present in practice as much as possible. It is important that we start building team chemistry, and use the time together to prepare
for our tournaments. As we progress through the season, I will be assigning positions based on what your daughter wants to play and what I think is best for the team. I believe in earning starting and playing time, and work ethic in practices and productivity in games will determine that. I am really big on communication, and I encourage my players to communicate any concerns they may have. Please encourage your daughter to speak with me first before requesting to meet with me about any issues she may have. The following parents will be in charge with some team logistics, but I am always open to suggestions and help from all my parents. Team Representative Mrs. Davis will be in charge of our travel arrangements when we leave out of Houston. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact her. Fweekly@hotmail.com Mrs. Scott and Mrs. Duhart will be in charge of our tournament food, player’s accessories and gears. If you have any questions, please contact them. I am seeking membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated to be a part of a sisterhood that leads and serves. I would love to join a sisterhood that serves the community, promotes academic achievement and builds self-esteem in students of all walks of life from primary to adulthood. In addition, I wish to expand my public service through educational development. As an educator, serving children and families through toy drives and youth mentorships would afford me countless opportunities to give back beyond the walls of my classroom, dance stage, and church. With my dedication, compassion, and creativity, I know I will work diligently to produce a strong impact on the sorority’s current programs and aid to create new
Every coach is different with their methods, but they do have similar things they love about coaching. According to Brainy Quote, Vince Lombardi once said, “It’s not whether you get knocked down; it’s whether you get up.” That quote shows what Mather loves to see when coaching volleyball. His favorite part of coaching is watching people fight hard to reach their goals. Athletes who love their sport should be committed, and work hard at it. Having good sportsmanship for the
Volleyball represents my most meaningful commitment not just because I have invested so much into it, but also because it it’s a passion of mine and has been a part of my life since elementary school. The impact my coaches and teammates have had on my life has helped make me the confident and determined individual I am today. Volleyball also takes up a lot of time and there are many sacrifices that come with the sport and playing on a team. To keep up my skills, I have had to give up a lot of my free time and parts of my summer. Balancing school with practices was also a challenge, but participating in one of my passions made it worthwhile. I have persevered through difficult times and learned new lessons along the way, so there is nothing that could make this sport less meaningful to me. (148)
When you think of a coach, you may think of someone who schedules practice, assigns positions for your team, or makes you run laps for showing up late. Not as often do you think of your coach as your hero, but my softball coach, Ron Hill, goes above and beyond. He not only teaches my team about the sport of softball, but he stresses the importance of becoming a better person through teamwork, responsibility, commitment, and leadership. He is not only a softball coach, but a Michigan native, working father, and my Michigan hero.
I believe that’s she is able to take on that position and still be a wonderful teammate and still be able to interact with the crowd also she is still able to be a part of the fundraisers events and support the high school. Another way I view the situation is to create happiness for all and everyone should have the opportunity to have

Hi Amber, first of all I just want to say congratulations on being awarded Officer of the Month, Officer of the Year and earning a position with the Federal Bureau of Investigation task force. Sounds like your drive to remain proactive eventually paid off. Like you, I tend to be most proactive professionally and more reactive in my personal endeavors. I have been with my current employer for almost seven years and even though I am extremely proactive, unfortunately the opportunity for advancement is very limited. However, I continue to tread on with the hope that someday it will pay off. I too, have set my goal to be more proactive in my personal life especially, where my health and exercise is concerned. For the past seven years I have been
Every person wants to be tough, independent, and a Christian women. Gabrielle Reece is a perfect example. Despite her challenges growing up, she became a professional volleyball player in addition to having a successful modeling and golf career. Her Christian beliefs helped her write books and to be an example of what dedication and determination can achieve. Gabrielle Reece is an inspiration and a role model for young volleyball players and athletes to do their best and to have the endurance to succeed in doing what they love.
They have made the Junior Olympic Volleyball force in the community of the sport. They are the head of making sure that that they establish their mark in the sport of Volleyball. Making sure that it’s important in the collegiate world, and it continues to always be competitive in international affairs. Without junior volleyball the sport wouldn’t be where it is today, it took years and years to get to the point of dominance it is at today but the efforts weren’t futile.
I have been a part of the Indiana Shock for the past five years and I am continuing to be a part of it for my sixth year now. My coaches have raised me like their own children, they have shown me what it is like to be competitive and a leader while playing softball, yet still giving all of our glory in our life to our Lord. My teammates have shown me what it means to be a true sister. They have never
Soccer has always been my passion. I started to play when I was in second grade. I have played continuously and am now a captain of the Suttons Bay Lady Norsemen. We are a high school cooperative team consisting of players from Suttons Bay, Leland and Northport. This is our fourth year of existence and we worked hard to establish our team and its killer reputation. The part that I am most proud of is that I was among a group of girls that helped convince the Suttons Bay School Board that our high school should establish a girls' high school team. We asked to be put on the board's agenda and prepared a persuasive presentation outlining the reasons that girls at Suttons Bay High School deserved their own team. We knew that money was not available to fund the team, so we promised to find it ourselves. The Board approved our team in the spring of 1997. Our team members and parents spent long hours in fundraising to pay for our uniforms, equipment, transportation, referees and coaches.
Over the past few years I have volunteered as an usher at my church, as a food vender at the PGA Honda Classic, helping my best friends mom in her classroom, working a food stand at a local softball tournament, as an assistant coach to a 10U travel softball team, and as a camp counselor at a softball camp. Personally, I think that being an assistant coach for a 10U travel softball team helped shape me a lot. Helping coach the younger travel team felt great to give back to the community, and it made me think of where my own softball journey began. I absolutely loved coaching the younger girls because I am now much more experienced in the game and can help them a lot more and get them stronger so that they can excel more in the game. I want them to love the sport just as much as I did when I was younger so that their love for the game will grow even more just as mine did. Coaching these girls was one of the best things I could’ve ever done. Talking to the girls about when I started softball, what my favorite part of the game is, going to college to play the game I love, how much they love the game now, and how they’ll all be in my shoes in a matter of years had me grinning from ear to ear. I loved every minute of it, I loved hitting to the girls, working on their fielding, pushing them to be their best, making sure they put 110% effort into everything they did, and
I plan to on watching more baseball games and getting to know more about the sport. I want to further my education on the minor’s and AAA league. I would really like to coach little league baseball in the near future. I have always wanted to coach but I have not had the opportunity to do so. In the meantime I plan on learning more about the sport and finding my philosophy as a coach. This class has given me knowledge on the game and motivated me to learn in a sport when losses happen more than wins. I hope I can be a good coach and I hope I can learn to teach kids without making them or myself burnout from the sport. This journey will be a challenge that I look forward to. I plan to give my team all the knowledge I learn about the sport to
Everything that I have learned from this course I plan to put towards my coaching career. Volleyball is not as easy of a sport ass most people believe it to be. It requires coordination, speed, accuracy, learning, strength, and other abilities along with the knowledge of the game and rules. Each person has a variety of motor abilities or an ability that is specifically related to the performance of a motor skill. With each motor skill a specific motor ability is required to successfully perform it. If two of my athletes have the same about of practice, level of instruction and motivation to do the skill then motor abilities will influence the level of performance success each person can achieve. Each person learns differently, some are visual, physical or mental for myself personally I am mainly a visual learner. Learning is defined as a change in the capability to perform a skill that must be inferred from a relatively permanent improvement in performance as a result of practice or experience. If I want to be successful as a coach I have to learn how to teach every type of athlete or learner. Some players may need to see me act out a motion or play, others need it written down, or need you to tell it to them while others need all of the above in order to understand and learn it completely. I believe this class can definitely help me to be a better coach because I can fully understand what the players are experiencing, and
Couple of things; parents I really need to know in advance if you know your player cannot make a game. As I have told the girls, I understand people get sick and other commitments come up, but if they attend school day of a game or know in advance that they cannot make it, I really expect to hear from them the day of or the practice before. On my end it's really hard organizing drivers, and trying to organize B games when I don't always have a reliable number every game. But for the girls, it is incredibly hard to improve when players don't show up to practices or games. I also just want them to be aware they have made a commitment to this and their team, and with that comes responsibility. In the future if a player does not have an excused absence, they unfortunately will be benched at the next league game and I fully expect them to attend and making sure the equipment for our game is taken care of. I also need to
