Being a bright child, especially in academics, I had always been my family’s pride. As a kid, I was primarily driven by the motive of pleasing my parents. However, as I grew older, I realized where my true passion lies. I had quickly realized that Science was my forte. I always had this inherent curiosity to know why things are the way they are. It is perhaps this very curiosity that made me take up engineering as my career choice. Even though my parents wanted me to take up medicine, I was never in doubt about the choice I had made. Mathematics had always amazed me and it has been my favourite subject ever since. The strong foundation of Mathematics and Science was laid in me from my schooling days itself. I took up my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering at a prestigious college. In the light of my excellent scores in twelfth, I received a Scholarship under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, for the four years of my under-graduate studies. During my under-graduate studies, I acquired a strong foothold in the fundamentals of Thermodynamics, Material Science, Mechatronics, Robotics, Vibrations, CAD/CAM etc. Since I had a keen interest in …show more content…

As I progressed through my course, I got introduced to various subjects like Work Systems Design and Engineering, Quality Engineering Management and so on. During my course, I found there is a lot more to learn and to know in these topics. The books I used always had a long list of foreign authors in the reference section which can be used to make complete detailed study of some topics. The world of Industrial Engineering has infinite scope and numerous opportunities for growth and advancement.
Completing high school education from an illustrious junior college, my academic accomplishments at school earned me admission in Sri Sairam Engineering College, Chennai. Ranked 3rd in the southern region of India by Outlook and The Week, and is affiliated to prestigious Anna University. I am pursuing my bachelors in Production Engineering. I have a commodious curriculum which enunciates on latest manufacturing techniques, production management until my junior year. In my senior year, I have electives like Operation's research, Ergonomics. This opened the gates to the field of Industrial engineering and that moment, I realized that manufacturing alone is not the crux of an Industry but there are many other segments, which have to be given equal importance for the amelioration of the Industry, which made me decide to augment my knowledge to these areas rather than merely focusing on manufacturing.
Real knowledge, like everything else of the highest value, is not to be obtained easily. It must be worked for, studied for, thought for, and, more than all, it must be prayed for”
Ever since I was a child, I have had a great interest for the automotive industry. From car trivia to novel innovations, my innate passion for the automotive industry has always made me research the minutest detail of every vehicle that interested me. Since elementary school I would draw sketches of cars which incorporated technology which were unheard of at that time; novel devices such as electrochromic windshields, HUD displays, and wind turbines which would constantly re-generate electricity for the car. While growing up, my hobbies largely consisted of constructing countless Lego and Meccano sets, and repairing my mom’s 19 year-old car. In middle school, math and science were my favorite subjects: applying science and mathematics to solve real-world problems has fascinated me and I have also taken further steps to reach my goals. By the age of thirteen I devised a scaled model of a heliostat power plant, which successfully powered a light bulb. The mathematics beyond the focus points of parabolic dishes and thermodynamics was very advanced for my age, but I took up the challenge...
After three years of working as a technician for Roxbury Community College, I want to return to academics and further my knowledge of information technology by studying at UMass Lowell. I graduated from Framingham State University in 2010 with a degree in Computer Science, which promptly enabled me to enter the workforce that same year. I chose to begin working in the field to gain some practical experience and solidify my goals of advancing in a technical career. I have loved my work from the beginning: especially learning cutting edge methods and discussing solutions to difficult problems with the senior technicians. Although I enjoy both the technical and client services aspects of my work, I find that I am not going to be satisfied carrying
I am applying for a Masters in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Solid Mechanics to expand on my study of and experience with materials. I have thoroughly enjoyed studying Materials Science and Engineering as an undergraduate at UCLA. I now look forward to moving into graduate study in a field of engineering with a related, but different perspective. Materials Science and Engineering has allowed me to explore both materials and other fields within engineering, contributing to my strong interest in combining my study of Materials Science and Engineering with Mechanical Engineering. I have completed basic coursework in most areas of engineering, learning statics, thermodynamics, basic programming, and circuit design. This has provided a strong foundation to continue graduate study in other engineering disciplines. I
Now that fashion design was out, I needed to figure out in what direction I was heading. I had always found science intriguing, but I thought it to be exclusively for child prodigies and geniuses who had never failed at anything. Because I found science fascinating, I took the time to discuss the field with a mentor who knows me well. She was adamant that I was sorely mistaken and nothing should hold me back from pursuing a career in the sciences. She told me if I put my mind to it and gave it my all there is no reason why I should not
I am curious, compassionate, and eager to learn and search for answers. From a young age, I always needed to know how things worked and would ask questions about everything. These traits fostered a strong aptitude and interest in math and science. In grade school, I was particularly interested in biology and physics because they explain how the natural world works. These strengths and interests lead me to study biomedical engineering to apply my curiosity and compassion towards learning how to find innovative ways to improve our understanding of the human body and disease and develop novel methods to cure it.
This perfectly holds true for me in the world of Computer Engineering where novel ideas are not a novelty. It is this novelty that entices me to this field and gives me a deep sense of professional pride. In this context, I would like to pursue my graduation in Computer Engineering, which not only supplements the knowledge that I possess but also provides a strong platform for my future career goals.
Ever since I was little I have always been interested in how things work, and I have always thought about how I could build them work better. As an example, I lived in Japan for two years while I was in first and second grade. I went to a small public school and loved to ski with my friends, we probably went skiing at least once a week during the winter. When I was skiing I would always be fascinated by the ski lifts and spend a good deal of time staring at them to try and figure out how they worked. And eventually I did. That is just one example of my everyday life. I want to have a career in what I already love doing -- learning how machines work and making my own. The first time I went to Maker Faire in Kansas City was the day I decided for sure that I wanted to be a maker, and I haven’t missed a Maker Faire since. Maker Faire is an annual event that lasts a weekend and is held in various different cities around the world. It is a place for makers to show off their inventions and projects to thousands of spectators.
Learning something new can be a scary experience. One of the hardest situation I 've ever do was learn how to not do what was expected of me. I was always afraid to go against the tide, but I decided that was an valuable skill that I should learn. I also thought It would be favorable and benefit me to become a stronger person. What I didn 't realize was that learning not to do what was expected of me would also cause me a extra confident person.
My fascination with machines, automobiles, science and mathematics laid the foundation for me to enter the field of engineering. My undergraduate study in mechanical engineering has been an all-round experience wherein I have achieved excellent grades, undertaken interesting projects, participated in various extra-curricular activities and served as an intern in a manufacturing firm. I undertook a two-months Vocational Training at Thapar University, India learning about various manufacturing processes like machining, welding, casting and shaping. I have served as an intern at Gates India Pvt Ltd, India for 6 months undertaking two projects on Setup Change Time Reduction using the concepts of Lean Manufacturing, Waste Reduction and Time Study.
Being well acknowledged about the above saying has pushed me a mile further for every aspect of my life. The four year engineering course in Information Technology has always been a beautiful experience and has inspired me to put the knowledge into my Masters degree. This would allow me to enhance my knowledge about technology and its pros and cons and the guidance I would need. Gone are those days when man had to slog for simple works, he has advanced into boundaries which are unimaginable and has made his life easy, being an essential part of such an advancement has always been my motive. To attain my goal, my first priority would be in the field of research which will consist experiencing the applications in the real world steered by comprehensive know-how about technology. Technology has prevailed and casted its spell to parts unknown and now has been imbibed into man.
The development of every nation hinges on the effectiveness of their transportation systems. Movement of goods, services and people to and from locations is made possible by transportation systems. The importance of effective transportation systems cannot be over-emphasized. Many countries face transportation problems and my country Ghana is no exception. A trip of about 30 minutes usually takes about an hour or more due to traffic jams. This is seriously impacting productivity and has become a topical issue in the country. The situation is the same in Uganda where I currently work. To this end, Transportation Engineers are needed to design roads/ highways that will stand the test of time, plan effective traffic management systems to reduce
From my perspective, excellent electronic engineers are a group of gifted and imaginative talents who bravely explore and innovate, change the world with passion and innovation. I have always dreamed of becoming one of them. For realizing this dream, I started from China 's Jilin University and then joined The University of Manchester for BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering to take more advanced professional courses.
