Recommended: Importance and functions of law in society

I believe that law gives our society structure. The law is the foundation of society and without the law, we would live like barbarians; there will be anarchy with no rules to guide us. As society develops the law develops with it, which is proven in the psychological definition of crime which changes as societies views change. Studying Law will help me grasp an understanding of the laws which govern us. By making use of the powers of analysis, criticism, persuasion, oral and written communication, I can assist people in overcoming injustice. Becoming a Lawyer and furthering my education by going to Barrister School will lead me on a path to higher achievement, ideally become a Judge and earning my place in a Crown Court.

During the time I spent there I shadowed one of their best immigration Lawyers and observed skills she used to interview and advice asylum seekers which required sensitivity. I witnessed how a Lawyer can play a great part in changing someone’s life for the better which contributed on my decision to be further educated in Law. I spent two days at the Immigration Tribunal Court, where I witnessed firsthand both Lawyers and Barristers deliver their plea to the Judge, they used both passion and control to do this and observed the change of language to fit their semantic field. This intensified my desire to become a Lawyer, it was mind-blowing to watch the interaction between these very skilled professionals. Working so closely with top immigration Lawyers gave me an insight into the long hours and hard work that is needed in order to study and practice Law. I was enormously inspired by these professionals to reach my goal.

I obtained the ability of patience and communication from my time working as an assistant instructor at a Kumon Learning Centre. I assisted young students between the ages of 5-18 years with problems they came across in their learning. To do this I had to gain their trust and be an empathetic listener while acting as an advocate for these young learners. Completing the Kumon program myself helped me to better my self-teaching/learning skills this
