Being a detective was a fantasy that charmed me deeply in my childhood. Every night before sleep, my father always told me the stories from the Sherlock Holmes. Beside those fantastic stories, what I truly enjoyed and admired was the sophisticated problem-solving skills that Sherlock had. It was he, who can resolve the complex evidence network by infinitesimal links and then reveal the entire plot precisely in the end. I really wish I could achieve what Sherlock is capable of, however, thanks to the prosperous world we are living in and the great development in the economy, my dream could now be fulfilled by becoming a detective in financial fields – the consultant. Despite successfully achieved a first degrees in Cass Business School recently, …show more content…
In my freshman year, I won an internship with GF Securities, one of the first, full-service investment banks in China. By participating in several IPO roadshows for NEEQ (National Equity Exchange and Quotation) Listing in Shanghai and dealing with clients’ requests for option trading, I developed a thorough overview of practical capital rising procedures as well as the function of various financial instruments. Later, I sought a more globalised experience by joining the General Electric(GE). In the process of organising the new machine launching conference, I have fully utilised the cross-communication skill that helped the manager to reconcile the needs and expectations from different retailers. In this summer, I gained an opportunity to work within the Guangdong Internet Finance Association. It provided me with a valuable insight to the emerging internet finance industry and made me think prospectively toward the future business model of financial institutions. These highly diversified internships not only enriched my ability to work independently as well as in a team, building upon the criticism and implement ideas, and but also widened my horizon that inspired me to approach the problem from different perspective and reach a more objective

As a child, I have always had an obsession for watching action movies with my father. We always had that bond with one another, action movies were typically the only movies we would watch. The longer I would watch the movies the more thoughts came across my head. Since then I always wondered if I should focus my career in Law Enforcement. I would always say “Mom, Dad, I am going to be a Policeman.” The more I continued to watch these movies the more I would convince myself to become a Policeman. At one point in time I realized that the crime scenes would catch my attention way more than Policeman. Then I realized that my obsession was not based on Law Enforcement it was based on Forensic Science. A thought occurred to me, what would it be
I have always taken an interest in Criminal Justice and crime prevention ever since middle school and I set out to make my career goal to become a Criminal Justice professional. Thus, pursuing a Criminal Justice master’s degree has been a part of my plans for the future and will become one of my core focuses that I will set up in my graduate studies. It will also enable me to become a more competent working professional and encourage me to advance towards the doctoral program.
Unlike Police Officers Police detective don’t have to wear a uniform. Police detectives gather facts and collect evidence from criminal cases. When detectives try to figure out a crime scene they collect all the evidence needed to help them figure out the truth about what happened and who was responsible. This includes making an exploratory and final investigation. Becoming a detective might be quite hard, unless you are good at what you are supposed to do.

A career in law enforcement is a unique opportunity that has intrigued me for the majority of my life. My curiosity likely stems from multiple family members of mine, who either have a career in law enforcement or had one previously. With my family history and my interest in law enforcement, it would appear that selecting an occupation in law enforcement would be a simple task. Yet, I often ponder whether I would prefer to work for a municipal agency such as the San Francisco Police Department, or a federal agency, namely the FBI. I have researched a multitude of factors such as qualifications, requirements, salary, and job description to assist me in determining which profession is the right one for me.
Something happened my sophomore year of high school that little did I know would change my perspective, not only of myself, but life in general. I was looking for something new and exciting to enhance my high school existence and decided to give the Criminal Justice Club a try. I was familiar with the advisor of the club, but knew that the club had astigmatism for attracting those students who were just looking for something easy to do. I knew about the criminal justice system, but only what they show on Law and Order. However, I immediately fell in love, not only with the club but the entire prospect of Criminal Justice. I stepped into the club as if it were a place I belonged and easily became a leader. I was able to learn things the TV shows
Did you know that the first private investigation agency was started by a criminal? While conducting research over this particular topic I learned a lot of interesting information regarding the type of work done by private investigators, as well as the potential employment opportunities. This world is a crazy and deceptive place and it is up to us to get to the truth of everything. Becoming a private investigator will be a time consuming, potentially dangerous, yet extremely rewarding career path. (History of Private Investigations, 2013)
This past semester I interned at the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Department. This was a unique experience for me and really changed my perspective on the possibility of having a law enforcement job as a police officer. Ultimately, I would like for my career path to result in me being a special agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Getting hired as a special agent with the FBI is very competitive, and as of right now it is extremely hard to get a job with them straight out of college. Luckily, for myself I have a good point of contact with the FBI, in which I was able to have a on the phone, and in person interview with my cousin John Dolan, who is the Acting Assistant Special Agent in Charge, of FBI 's Joint Terrorism Task Force in
It would be fulfilling to be a police officer because police officers help people in the community and keep it safe. They also enforce the law. They are the reason why people can live their lives in peace. If there is anyone in the community that citizens can trust it would be the police officers.

The second I stepped onto the campus, I knew that it was where I wanted to be and I felt like I was at home. The atmosphere felt friendly and family-like, the campus and the surrounding area was beautiful, academics are amazing, and the athletics and their facilities are great. The most appealing of these factors to me was the outstanding criminal justice program. This really caught my eye because my long-term goal after college is to work in the criminal justice field as a criminal investigator or a crime scene investigator. Not only does UNF have a great criminal justice program with outstanding professors that were, at one point, in the criminal justice field, but they also have great ties with the FBI and Jacksonville Sheriffs Office,
Under CEO Philip Purcell’s management, Morgan Stanley’s infrastructure and systems did not grow with the needs of employees and customers, nor did it apply future technologies to their current systems, it’s focus was reducing overheads to maximize profits in the short term. Many brokers resigned, taking with them valuable portfolios and profits. In June 2005 Purcell resigned, and John Mack provided new leadership. The firm then began to change its information systems and provide better services for clients, which saw stronger ethos and integrity within the employees.
Finance is a field that had always fascinated me right from my undergraduate college days. What make me interested in this particular field of study are the art of finance and the complexity of investment market which would allow me to employ my personal skills, such as analytical and communication skills, along with my personal characteristics such as dedication and compassion for what I do. As one of the most important sector in the world, I believe it would provide me with a broad range of career options.
In the past eight years as a police officer for the City of South Salt Lake, I have found that personal growth and achievement in my career have been based on certain past experiences. Such experiences have molded what my personality is today. I have found that in order to be triumphant in my personal and professional goals, it has been necessary for me to reflect not only on my strides, but also my mistakes.
