At first, I am interested in Emergency Management, so this internship offer a free class for me to learn and practice what I am interested.
It will also be a unique opportunity for me to intern in an emergency department or organization in the United States. I have learned some knowledge of emergency management from the class, but I still don’t have a chance to apply the professional knowledge to the fact. This internship will give me a chance to put what I learned from the class and textbook into practice.
In addition, the internship will give me a totally different experience from the internship in China. As we know, United States has a different system of government from China, and they also have different emergency management system. This internship will offer a brand new vision and opinion for me which will let me experience different emergency management methods and thoughts.

the American work style in advance. My advantages As an international student, I can speak both English and Chinese frequently.
In addition, I can speak a little French. Consequently, I can communicate with some foreigners who can only speak Chinese and help them with their requirements. I came to the United States last August and studied Public Administration in Florida State University. On one hand, I could adjust myself to the different environment very well. This experience will help me to adjust myself to different environments and position more quickly than the other people. On the other hand, I learn a lot of professional knowledge of public service in America which makes me more familiar with American public
system. I graduated from Nanjing Medical University (NJMU), I studied Public Affair (Direction: Health Administration) there. This major provides a lot of courses related to health service administration, like Epidemiology, Medical Statistics, Hospital Management, and Database and Management Information. These courses make me more familiar with the several phases of emergency management, such as preparedness, prevention, and recovery. Based on these professional knowledge, I can statistics and analysis the historical data to develop an effective emergency management plan. Moreover, I interned in the Health Department of Jiangsu Province (located in Nanjing) and Zhongda Hospital (located in Nanjing). This experience helps me more familiar with the health part in the emergency management. Last but not the least, I am an outgoing person and not afraid of hard working. I can work well with the team members. For example, I joined the student union when I was in college, and our team successfully organized several events. I also become the volunteer for several activities on campus. As we know, every college student in China needs to participate military training which is an extremely hard work. I gained the Advanced Individual in the military training.
I can gain hands on experience interning in governmental agencies and courtrooms, assisting forensic psychologists with referral materials and conducting research in the fields of law and psychology. I want to become a forensic psychologist within a criminal or family court, so having an internship related to psychology and law within NYC Ladders for Leaders can set me apart from other applicants by giving me more hands on experience. Ultimately, an internship within Ladders for Leaders can help me decide if I am willing to pursue forensic psychology in the future. Having hands on experience within the fields of law and psychology can help me decide if I want to work within courtrooms, police stations, or juvenile detention
The DC internship can help me further my skills/abilities in professionalism, because I can learn how everything should be done in the most in the most professional way. Internships provide students with opportunities to apply theoretical and basic knowledge gained in the classroom. During the field placement period, the agency supervisor becomes the primary teacher, aside from the clients, in the student's day-to-day learning. The supervisor is responsible for coordinates the student's overall experience by helping the student integrate the various pieces of the Field Internship. However, to make the placement, a positive experience supervisor need to be aware of student’s strengths, and learning needs to match assignments accordingly.
...am also allows familiarity with common equipment and treatments, which is very necessary to students planning on going into the medical field. Exposure to different areas of medicine is very beneficial, as medical school does not initially emphasize on simply one specialization. I too would be a great asset to the program, as I am social, which is necessary to interact with patients, and I am responsible as well, which makes me eligible to handle expensive equipment that the hospital may own. Also, I do not get frightened at the sight of blood, which can potentially serve to be dangerous. The program also teaches certification in basic first aid skills, which are necessary regardless of what field a student may want to pursue. This program would be a great experience over the summer, and would also give me a chance to experience the life of medical field personnel.

It has been a while since I started at the internship and I am really glad I decided to work here. I think the experience in this area is a good preview of my career and future. I met a lot of great people and watch PsyR in action. I met a couple of individuals who were really cool. My experience this semester has prepared me for the next.
