My most meaningful achievement is all of the hard work, I have put into my grades. One of my goals was to stay as close to a 4.0 gpa as possible by my senior year. Achieving a 3.94 gpa, has shown all the hard work I have put into my education. I am very grateful for the education I have obtained throughout high school. I am so thankful for my teachers, that have helped to further my education, and allowed me to accomplish my goal. This experience has helped me to decide that I want to further my education, by studying to achieve a degree in elementary education. I hope to help other children accomplish their goals. I can not wait to impact children's lives, like my teacher have impacted mine. I know that helping kids to achieve their dreams, …show more content…
I have been entrusted with six children who are my responsibility to help care for. I provide them with food, change diapers, and play with children from ages zero to seven. To be trusted with these responsibilities, at such a young age, was very meaningful to me. Working at this daycare has helped to further reassure me, that I want to work with children in any way possible. In addition because, I am so accustomed to working with younger children I know I really want to pursue elementary education, as opposed to secondary education. I believe elementary education is the perfect fit for me, and I truly believe that this decision will make me the happiest in life. My professional life, should also be something that makes me happy, and becoming a teacher in elementary education, will help me to accomplish my dreams. Most people would not be willing to hire a 16 year old to be in charge of a big group of children. That is why this job was such a large achievement for me. This job has allowed me to create my future goals, and I can not wait to continue to pursue them. These achievements, have truly allowed me to discover my future goals, and do whatever it takes to obtain them. I look forward to attending Western Michigan University, and truly beginning the journey to the next stage in my
Elementary School teacher, a professional educator for grades k-5, is a career I wish to pursue because I want to teach children the building blocks of education, love the energy and excitement that younger children give off, and want to be able to help children with special challenges. I have wanted to be an elementary school teacher for about three years now, I knew I wanted to pursue this occupation because there are many benefits to being an educator, and have always worked with children well. Some challenges are I will have to get a bachelor 's degree and have to complete a state licensing exam (“preparation 1”)
My mind has been opened to different ideas in the school, such as, where I would prefer to teach, or different discipline and learning ideas for students. I am very thankful for the opportunity I had to observe Mrs. Lee and spend time at Oak Park Elementary. This observation has made me see that my main goal to be a teacher is to educate children and to love of them. As I looked at the different faces of some of the students and the way Mrs. Lee interacted with compassion and care towards them was something that I want to strive for when I become a teacher. I do still plan to be a teacher if the Lord continues to lead me in that path. If I did not become a teacher, I would still want to somehow be involved with the school system or with helping children through life
I believe education is a building process, everything from kindergarten through my college years has let me gained and expanded my education through not only learning facts and concepts, but also learning about myself. Through all that I have acquired, I believe Elementary Education is my true calling. My desire to pursue Education, specifically Elementary education came from a discovery of myself. As a college student you look for opportunities to gain knowledge and make a little extra cash on the side. When I took the opportunity to take a job for an after school elementary program called Bricks 4 Kidz, I never thought It would change my views on my major the way it did. I went into college with a mind set on Business Management thinking that was my true calling, but when I experienced how it feels to work with kids and how much I really enjoy it I started rethinking my major. When a student of mine grabbed my leg and begged me to not leave because he wanted me to stay and keep teaching was the moment I knew I was doing something right with my life and that Education was the perfect path for me.
I have not had a single accomplishment that is worth writing about but I feel that my college completion will be one accomplishment that I will be most proud. I feel that I am taking one step forward in life that will make me become a more successful person.
As an education major at State College, I’ve decided to become a teacher for several reasons. As I progressed through elementary, middle, and high school, many of my teachers were great role models for me. This has inspired me to become a role model for someone in the near future. My love for science and math has also influenced my desire to teach and make a difference in a child’s life. I want to teach students the subjects that I love so much. I want the feeling that I helped a child accomplish or learn something they couldn’t understand. One of the main reasons I want to become an educator is because I feel education has really lost teachers who truly love teaching and those who truly love teaching and those who have the desire to make a difference. I feel I can really help make a difference in the education world and bring back the love to teach.
These three accomplishments have meant the most to me for various reasons, some personal such as completing a triathlon and others are outwardly focused like teaching personal finance courses to young Soldiers. Leading Soldiers, mentoring them, being a positive influence on their lives will always be the most accomplishing event in my life so far. I hope to continue to help others as I move forward in the business world. I believe this will enable me to stand out as a student at the graduate level once I am granted admission into The University of Tennessee's Haslam College of
... After graduating with my Bachelors of Science in Education, I plan to get a job as a teacher in an elementary school. I believe that there is a need for compassionate and caring teachers in elementary schools. At such a young age, I believe that it is important for elementary students to have positive role models in their lives.
Through my own experiences, and as enforced by others' opinions in the profession, I have found that teaching is one of the most rewarding careers. Not only are you placed in the position of instructing and guiding children and young adults through the life long learning process, but you are able to give back to the schools and communities which have supported your early education and experiences that opened you up to a bright future. In becoming an educator, I hope to someday share the knowledge and lend the helping, supportive hand that I was once given, allowing students to formulate their own perspectives of the multicultural society and world around them. Teaching is a career I have been interested in pursuing throughout high school, and as my experiences and study in the field expands, I feel that my desire to teach will grow stronger and develop more soundly.
My biggest accomplishment in school is when I graduated high school early despite what others said. I decided that public high school was not for me, because of all of the distractions I had. So I begged my mom to transfer me to butterflied high school. I went one time a week to meet with my teacher were I turned in all my homework and took my tests. I feel that going
Becoming a teacher has been the ultimate aspiration for myself since the first day I walked into kindergarten. As a very timid student, it was a difficult task transitioning from being with my mother everyday, to being part of a classroom environment full of strangers. However, my kindergarten teacher helped me through this transition smoothly, and adequately. I very quickly learned to love school. Soon after, I knew I would aspire to become a teacher. I would spend countless hours at home with a blackboard, acting as a teacher to my imaginary students throughout my elementary school years.
I spent most of my time in a first grade classroom. In this classroom I observed the children as well as the teacher and paraprofessional. This classroom had children with special needs and that is why there was a paraprofessional in the classroom for half the day. What I observed in this classroom was how children with special need should be handle and taught. The teachers in this room loves her job and each student in her class. While in the classroom the teacher allowed me to help with children with their work, read to them and help them with anything else that they needed. During this field experience I got to give back to not only a school, but to a community that is very near and dear to my heart. I hope that I touched each student in a special way, because the students that I got the opportunity to help learn touched my
When looking forward seven years I am excited, nervous, and anxious for how my life will turn out. I am a very goal-oriented person so I have a concise plan for how I want the rest of my life to look like. Once I figured out I had a love for English, I quickly decided I wanted to be a teacher. In seven years, I plan on being married and starting a family as I go through the first couple years in my teaching career.
I am so excited about one day teaching our children. My goal is to be a positive influence on a child and I cannot imagine anything more important to do with my life than helping children. A quote from Herbert Kohl sums up my feelings of becoming an educator: “I believe the impulse to teach is fundamentally altruistic and represents a desire to share what you value and to empower others. I am not talking about the job of teaching so much as the calling to teach. Most teachers I know have felt that calling at some time in their lives.” My dream is to someday soon fulfill my calling.
I chose to major in elementary education because of my love for children . I enjoy working with children, I feel that they have an entirely different way of looking at the world. I want to make a difference in the lives of children. I want to improve their lives, but at the same time make it fun and interesting instead of dull and tedious. Children naturally have a short attention span. I have worked in an elementary school for four years, and I have learned that to keep children entertained but at the same time teaching them.
...ove the times when she said that I helped her understand a certain concept. Those moments are what I live for, and they are priceless to me. I hope that I can continue to provide that satisfaction of learning to my future students and experience the pride and joy that the students will feel when the material finally clicks. Becoming a teacher would be a dream come true for me, and I hope that I can have the opportunity to purse this dream during my lifetime. I hope that with hard work this dream can become a reality. In essence, I want to pursue this career more than anything because I really want to inspire and shape the future generation. I know that they have what it takes to make a difference in the world, but they need teachers who can point them in the right direction. Every teacher has that capability, and that is why I want to pursue this amazing profession.
