Personal Response to "The Oedipus Complex" Oedipus complex is a theory made by Sigmund Frued. A person should not feel bad about sending them somewhere for help, it is good for the child and the parent. A parent needs to do whatever they can to help their child no matter what is happening. We all can relate to the Oedious, the second he realized what he did he was filled with guilt. He felt so guilty when he found out he killed his own father that he blinded himself and ran away. Whenever anyone does something bad they are filled with guilt and want to get as far away as they can from the situation. A person might not actually run away physically, but mentally they will try their hardest to get away from it. The Oedipus Complex shows the affection a son shows their mothers and can help explain certain things that was going on in the persons mind. Dreams say a lot about what is going on in a person’s life. Anxiety dreams show what people are stressing about through out their day or before they feel asleep. I think that maybe when sons are dreaming about sexual with their mothers it could be because they are feeling a lot closer to their mothers more than they usually do. Dreams are a very interesting thing that show what is going on through someones mind without even realizing
