The phrase “Philosophy of Life” can be defined as a person's personal beliefs, attitudes, and values. In comparison to one’s core values, a person’s philosophy of life is often what drives their behavior. A philosophy of life can change throughout a person’s life depending on the situations that may or may not be thrown in the direction of that person and how they decide to handle it. Like core values, which are a consistent part of a persons philosophy of life, in my opinion, a percentage of these traits are instilled in you for the entirety of your life as opposed to others that may change. But, like all people and all parts of life, this varies. I say this because people will only change when they are open to change and willing to change.
One major factor usually stems from your childhood. Many people take on similar values, attitudes and behaviors as those in their family. There are also people who take on values from both their family and their life situations. Then there are people who obtain their values, beliefs, and behaviors from their friends and the entities that surround them. All in all one of the first contributing factors to a persons philosophy of life comes from those who are consistent players in their lives. Other things may be applicable depending on a persons exposure. Activities such as church, dance, soccer, choir, any activity really can help frame a persons perspective. It can also help a person observe the world in a social setting and decipher the role they want to play in this life. Every student has a diverse learning style. I believe that students should learn in a safe, caring, and understanding environment. As professional educators, we should provide this safe and open-minded environment.The ways to ensure this environment is to make sure students are actively involved in their education, to make sure teachers are providing the best materials for students to learn, and to make sure parents and the community are involved in students education.

Growing up, I have always known that I wanted to work in the education field. I believe helping students learn and grow is my purpose in life. I believe the purpose of education is to see students develop and grow. I believe the role of the student is to come to school and learn new information that they can apply to their lives. The nature of human beings is dictated by several factors that include the idea of nature and nurture. I believe one of the most important factors in this case is nurture since it works concurrently with the nature in shaping someone’s personal conduct. Nurture helps to instill certain moral ideals in a person so that they are able to cope in their own surroundings. The main role I find that moral ideals take in shaping human nature is the fact that they help in creating human beings who live in accordance with societal moral ideals. Moral ideals then form ethics and ethics help in guiding our human behavior. This paper explores my own personal views on the relationship between human ethics and certain topics that have a great bearing on human life and their behavior within the society.
I was a bad student in high school. I didn’t study, I got bad grades, I had an attitude, and I disrespected my teachers. I’d like to believe that this was because I was brilliant and existentially bored with the pedestrian intellect of my peers. I’d like to believe that it was because my school was so retrograde and repressive that I was placed into a hopeless situation. But that wasn’t it. I wasn’t especially brilliant; my peers were actually pretty smart; and my school was, all things considered, a reasonably decent place. I’d like to believe it was because nobody in my family had graduated high school, let alone attended a university. But that, too, wasn’t a valid explanation. My parents had always loved and supported me in school. I was just a bad student in high school who never connected to the place.
According to Socrates “the unexamined life is not worth living”. The most important part of life is examining your choices and beliefs using rationality and determining if they are valid. If a person chooses not lead an unexamined life, they would find that their life lacks value and they would be unhappy. They would also lead an immoral life, as they would be ignorant to the effects their choices have on themselves and those around them.

Upon entering the field of education, I am faced with many questions. Will the students like me? Will I have a large class? Will I be a good teacher? A few of the questions that definitely need to be answered before I enter the classroom, are what methods should I use to teach? What aspects of which methods will work best for me? My previous life consisted of working in the coal mines till I was injured. My injury, however, is considered a blessing in disguise. My injury has leaded me to the world of education.

My family has taught me a list of values and traits that have helped me become a well-rounded individual. I value my family more than anything because most of my core inner values have started from their teachings at one point or another. My top values that I have developed from my family are dedication, honesty, and wisdom. I will discuss who I am in terms of the important values that shape my personal belief system and decision making framework that, in essence, describes the direction of my life.
There are numerous lessons that I have learned from life, they were lessons that I learned from good and bad experiences in life. Different experiences from school and out of school that has made me the way I am today. There is a long list of experiences that in reality did not teach me much.
One simple consideration that can change the course of how people think about their approach to life is, the examination of the influences that they have on other people’s lives. An individual could also look outwards and analyze the impact that other people have on that individual’s life. One should also self-reflect and search for how their thoughts and actions craft a pathway towards their own destiny. The statement by Socrates, “the unexamined life is not worth living,” is an interesting statement that requires a considerable amount of analysis.
