Personality Personality is the combination of characteristics and qualities that forms an individual 's character. It 's the way individuals interact and react with each other. Theories suggest that personalities can be the results of heredity (biological, physiological, or inherent) or environmental (culture, society, or media). Over the years, personality and assessment frameworks have been developed to shade some light on how our behavior is linked to our personalities. Because personality is a set of individual differences that are effect the behavior of an individual, Briggs Type Indicator and the Big Five Personality Model has been designed to help provide a better understanding personality traits. This is what happened between a coworker and myself. I have been viewed as serious, methodical, analytical, and hardworking individual, so when it came to getting a job done I assumed everyone would possess some if not all of those qualities. I meet a coworker who made me reconsider my assumptions. Although she had a pleasant social personality, her work habits were different for mine. This created unpleasant work environments which lead to two frustrated individuals. For example, she wanted to hold a conversation while she works; whereas, I just wanted to quietly work. If she asked a work related question and I didn 't response quick enough she would get irritated. If I asked her a question that required a yes or no response; she would reply with a story explanation. These characteristics frustrated me. Some test can be simple and short while others lengthy and complicated. Scholars demonstrated knowledge about personalities looking back many thousands of years. The Greeks published a well documented history in profiling people according to personality traits. Two interesting character personalities are conformist type personality and manipulative type personality.
A person’s personality has been the subject of psychological scrutiny for many years. Psychologists have drawn up several theories in an attempt to accurately predict and determine one’s personality. Foremost amongst these, is the “Big Five Trait Theory” which stemmed from Raymond B. Cattell’s theory.
Personality is massive part of an individual’s identity. Our personalities dictate our patterns of thinking, feeling, and acting. The study of personality traits is beneficial in identifying the many variables that exist from human to human; the combinations of these variables provide us with a true level of individuality and uniqueness. In the field of psychology, trait theory is considered to be a key approach to the study of human personality (Crowne, 2007; Burton, Westen & Kowalski, 2009). This paper aims to identify a number of significant contributors who have played crucial roles in both the development and application of trait theory. This paper then moves focus to these theorists, outlining their theory and analysing both the strengths and weaknesses of those theories. An illustration of the methods used in trait measurement is given and includes the arguments both for and against such procedures. Lastly the findings of trait theory and its components described within the paper will be summarised.
The Big Five personality factors are the modern way of describing someone’s feelings, actions, and traits. This new factor map, improving Hans and Sybil Eysenck’s two-dimensional map which consisted of a stable/unstable axis and an introverted/extroverted axis, has five different factors. They are Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism and everyone can be described using these five criteria. This paper will discuss and interpret my results from a Big Five personality test including how accurate I believe it is and how this might change in the future.

By requiring said individual to answer a series of questions, this test is able to decipher the traits that are most likely evident within their life. The Five-Factor Model of Personality test gives the test subject a series of situational options. Using the subject’s responses, psychologist match the answers to the personality in which best relates. A highly accurate description of ones’ personality can be easily configured by using the Five-Factor Model of Personality by testing either high or low in the following areas; openness to experience, extraversion, conscientiousness, agreeableness, and neuroticism.

During the last quarter, I took a personality course and I had been taking the NEO FFI test before, because it was the one of the assignments to complete in that class. However, I took this test again to explore my results right now and I am satisfied with the results. Also, I got average scores for all categories because I believed that I become more mature status of mentally and physically right now. Furthermore, I learned how to be a better person because I start to think as positive for the cause and effect. This is also because I can start to be positive within all events that caused in my life, and I could not think in negative such as suicide, depression and lack of competence as well.
