Personal Narrative: Walt Disney World Vacation

When anyone asks me, “Where is your favorite vacation spot and why?” I always reply with Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, because I have so many family memories there. I have been to Disney World eight times, and I have enjoyed each trip tremendously. I have decided to interview my mother, Shellie Smith via Skype. Shellie has been to Disney World twelve times. Her first Disney World vacation began on September 16, 1990 while honeymooning with my dad. In this paper, I will be summarizing my interview with Shellie Smith. When it comes to planning a Disney vacation, Shellie knows the ins and outs of Disney World. In her opinion, early in December is the best time to go. I asked Shellie, what is a fact that you know about Disney? According to Shellie, there are a series of tunnels that go throughout the Magic Kingdom that store computer rooms, costumes, and characters! Our family has become experts about planning Disney World vacations. I asked Shellie, what is one piece of advice that she would give families that are planning a Disney vacation? She thought about this question for a while and gave me an answer that would benefit families. Shellie stressed for families to use the dining plan option, because you can go to the most exquisite, upscale restaurants without paying for it! When you pay for the trip, you pay for the dining plan! Lastly, I asked Shellie, what are the most expensive things at Disney World? In her opinion, dinner shows, food in general, and water are the most expensive things at Disney. In 2013, our family drove to Disney World for my eighteenth birthday. One night, we were hungry and decided to go to McDonalds. McDonalds was about two miles from my hotel and I ordered a chicken nugget meal. That chicken nugget meal was almost eight dollars, compared to six dollars in Oklahoma City. We decided that the closer you get to Lake Buena Vista, the more expensive things
