This I Believe “ We may have different religions, different languages, different coloured skin, but we all belong to one human race” This is a quote by Nobel Peace prize win, Kofi Annan. His goal is for peace and human rights. For equality. Much like him I believe everyone, no matter what, should be treated equally no matter what someone's religion, culture, gender, sexuality, or size. One should not be judged or placed in a stereotype just because of their outside appearance. I remember being a kid and my mother always saying I was born with three strikes against me. I am a girl of spanish descent, and of Christian religion. She always told me I would have to work harder than everyone around me if I wanted to be able to obtain my goals.
In reality we should see each other as equal, because if not it limits us and it will become harder to achieve our full potential. We can not hide our true selves and try to become something we are not, because what’s the point? All that’s doing is promoting judgment and we will get nowhere because there will always be second thoughts on our next actions. The moment we stop and accept everybody for who they are is the same moment we release our true selves and show others what we really can
Many will argue that their race is superior over another, or that the actions of a few individuals of a certain race determines how that race of people are, therefore making them unequal. I think all people should be treated equally, no matter who they are or what they look like.
There are a wide array of problems surrounding diversity that date back many years. All these years’ people have been ridiculed for the way they look or for what they believe in. There are four groups of people that have a major stake in the argument surrounding diversity who are feminists, the LGBTQ community, the young and old in the work force, and minority religious organizations. These groups are not the only people who face are faced with this issue, but they are the main groups I would like to focus on. Everyone knows that there is diversity and that it exists within the community, but accepting diversity and acknowledging and respecting others for their beliefs is when the
Nothing could have prepared me for this moment. This was the moment that I did the only thing that I didn't know I could do. The chance to prove myself to my teammates, coach, and family members. You will never know how far you can go unless you try. I never thought that I would succeed in this one goal because I never tried.
If all men are created equal, then why should differences in race matter? Unfortunately our society has not lived up to the standards set by its forefathers.
Equality is important in order to keep peace within a society without it everything would be corrupt and chaotic. People should not be discriminated for things that they cannot control. For example, when a male and a female apply for the same job, they should be judged on their work ethic, not their sex. There are differences towards different people however; in order to live in a peaceful country we must put our differences aside. We shouldn’t be treating people differently because of our differences instead we should be treating everyone equally considering that we are all different and no two people are the same. Their outside appearance should not be accounted for anything; their personality
To make peace, and show respect and loyalty to one another. People should not be judged based on the color of their skins, but should only be judged based on their character. Children all around the world should be raised with love and happiness, never in pain and sadness. People with more than enough money, should always lend a hand to others who are need for help. Yet, some people still judge each other by the color of their skin, there are still children around the world suffering, and there are selfish people who do not care about making a
This is shown through the numerous times throughout history in which this has happened. In early 1942, president Roosevelt called for the relocation of everyone of Japanese ancestry on the west coast (National Archives). During the Holocaust the Nazi Regime’s main goal was to eliminate all of the Jews in Europe, since they were the “cause of all problems” (USHMM). This is also seen during the segregation between people of color and those who were white in America, the ideology at the time was that anyone who wasn’t white wasn’t even a “complete” human (VCU Libraries). With this ideology we created the idea to make anyone who was different, lesser. Even to the point where those who are different are completely segregated from the “normal” society or even killed on a massive scale. Through this ,as a species, we show that we are not very accepting of people who are different than ourselves, or the greater
That everyone has a chance to discover what they love to do. Weather it is for work or just a hobie that you're passionate about, you can figure these things out on your own. Maybe your Dad wants you to take over the family business but that is not what you love to do, then you should find a job that you wanna do.
It was my fault, no one else’s, the time where failure hit harder than someone beating a drum. End of spring 2013 I found out that I was repeating the grade all over again, never have I imagined myself being in that position till that year. Leading up to this was beginning of ninth grade year, terrified knowing that I wasn't going to know anybody I was going to be alone. I went through so much emotionally it began to show the first few weeks of high school. Constantly having anxiety attacks where I end up staying the entire day in the office since I kept crying eyes out.
rushing through my veins, I have never been this excited, it like I woke up with all the money in
I believe in self love. It's taken me 17 years to be able to breath comfortably in my own skin. I can't remember at what age or moment in time where I looked in the mirror and thought my image was every bad thing possible. But, over time insecurities, harsh words, and self doubt snowballed into a toxic self image. Constantly being too much and not enough at the same time began to drive me up the wall. I truly believed I would never be good enough for anyone, not even my own parents. My mindset affected everything. It affected my perspective on life, friendships, academic career, and my happiness.
One time, I loved another person. He was, in my eyes, the most beautiful human. I loved him for the way he looked into my eyes and touched my hands and the gentle articulations of his voice. The way he would play the violin with such skill and grace. He was never harsh or angry. I wanted to be with him in the simplest ways. I wanted to be with him at his worst just to help him up again. I wanted to be the last one to say goodnight. I just wanted to be next to him.
It was a beautiful morning, the brisk breeze was on my cheeks and the summer smell of fresh cut soybeans filled the air. It was the perfect morning to ride and the great starting of the cool air of fall. The horses were full and ready to travel, the dogs were excited for the ride. My friend and I was in the saddle by 7:00am and ready to head out. We stated by the Old Man’s Cove is the nick name this haunt full little place had obtained. It is almost a place you’d see in the old scary movies with the moss over taking the huge Cyprus trees and the murky green water that you could imagine a monster lurking in to attack. Yeller and Kokaroo the dogs, Kokaroo is a blue merlin bred alstrailin shepherd he has two different color eye a blue and a brown;
It was a Monday morning my grandma was talking to my mom on the phone and my mom always lets us heard their conversation, so they always talk to for a long time and after 30 minutes my mom was turning sad and when she goes to the room me and my sister know something has happened and then I went in my mom room and the door was locked and It was a difficult time for our family that time. My mom tries to get more information and figured out and when we went to go pick out my aunt, my grandma told us that one of our older cousins was shot we did not know how but I think what I remember what my mom was talking to my grandma, and she said that he got kidnapped and the next day he was shot at I don't really know how that happen because it I could
