The Rock was a football player before he went into wrestling. He had his dreams turned down when he wasn't drafted; this set back didn't stop him, but propelled him to pursue a career he truly loves, wrestling. This was astonishing to me when I found out because I can relate this experience to my current life situation. I worked really hard running track in high school, but wasn't recruited to run in college, so I turned my focus to computers, as it is my first love. Watching The Rock at his debut, so full of life, would make me feel like anything is possible. Dwayne has a way of making people feel like they can overcome any obstacle in their life.
Lewis, who was born in a time of rejection, shows that you can achieve your dreams if you want to. Even though he faced many road blocks to his career as a runner, he was still highly successful. He tried everything he could to make it happen, and in the end he did. He also showed how wrong people were of thinking that he was incapable because of his background. He completely changed racial barriers for the better in the sport’s world. Sadly, this wonderful person passed away on November 15, 2003, but that doesn’t mean his legacy doesn’t live on. Ray Lewis is an inspiring person who had a huge impact in the world just because of a simple dream, and that shows that everyone is capable of having an impact, if only you follow your dream.
He has showed me that God is faithful even through hardships. He has gone through a lot of tough things in his life, but he remained in Christ and Christ guided him through it. Tim Tebow probably gets made fun of for being a Christian. He has been cheered for and he has been booed for. People are waiting for him to trip up and make a mistake. He finds his identity in Christ, not in sports, fame or what other people think. “What God knows about us is more important than what others think.” (Tebow, shaken) I also learned that if you work hard you can accomplish anything. Tim Tebow frequently says “hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard”. When he's not doing so well in baseball, he tries his best and that's all that matters. Tim Tebow is a Godly man that has been through ups and downs and uses his testimony to witness to others and spread joy to those in need of
Deion Sanders, also known as Prime Time, is probably one of the most successful athletes in the sports world. Not only did he start off young as a football star, but he also was able to become a pro baseball player as well. Ever since high school he's been a star: his goal was to become a famous, wealthy, and admired athlete. Playing both football and baseball, he was able to achieve this goal. Sanders is the only man to play in both a Super Bowl and a World Series. He became an all star from a young age, playing basketball, football, baseball, and track. He was able to letter in all sports and took his skill and talent with him to Florida State University to further his career. Though he had all this success, Deion Sanders eventually ran into his own problems and drama creating much controversy, marriage and religious conflicts, and almost ending his career. But he was able to learn from these experiences and shape his future in a positive way.
Wayne Gretzky was a star from the start of his life. He was a natural born leader, and had a successful career while being a leader. Wayne was first a leader at a young age, then he was a leader in the National Hockey League, and finally he was a great leader as a coach in the National Hockey League.
I have many things that I love in this life, one of those things is wrestling. I have been wrestling for seven years and I have developed quite the passion and love for it. Wrestling has always been an interesting sport for me. Growing up in Oregon I watched my uncles wrestle in high school. I watched both of them win their state tournament in their respective weight classes, this is one of my fondest memories of my childhood. One of them went on to wrestle division one, I thought this was the coolest thing in the world. I looked up to my uncles and wanted to be just like them. I did not always wrestle though. The process of pursing my dream as of becoming a wrestler started of with basketball, then went to a rocky start, then being on Worland High School wrestling team.
Like what was said above, he was a humble superstar that did not want to be only one kind of person. He did not want to be stuck being good at only one thing. He wanted to be great at it all. His talent had people believing that he could really do anything. He had an opponent one game that, leading up to it, trashed talked about how Bo was never going to get past him. Once Bo got the ball, he ran towards the defender and instead of stopping, he ran straight through him and threw him to the ground to score a fantastic touchdown. Fast forward a few years and he needed a hip replacement due to a bad injury while playing football. He, at the time, was focusing on baseball and he told everyone that he would be back to play. When out of the surgery, he began rehab right away, and was back in the ballpark shortly after. Bo naturally established himself as
Although he had this tragic time he didn't take anything for granted. When he moved the PA he was a star athlete playing baseball, basketball, and football. When he was in his senior year he got an opportunity of a lifetime, he got a full ride to the University of Alvernia to play baseball. Going into his first year of college, he was a stud on the field and in the classroom. He was so good the when he was in his freshman year of college, he got invited to a training camp in NY to play for a team named the NY Mets. But when he was going to go to the training camp, something happened that he could ever take back. He had a kid coming on the way so with this he had to drop out of college and ruin his chance to play professional baseball. At first Randy had struggle he had to get a job right away and become a father faster than Randy should have. The ironic thing about this is that Randy started to work with his father at the pizza shop. He had to save every last penny every day. But he was used to this lifestyle because he lived through it all his life. So he had to work two jobs
Billy Thompson and Sam Westfield were similar in many ways. Since a young age they both has excelled at sports and both loved more then anything, the sport of football. While growing up, the boys did not know each other and probably thought they would never have too. But all of that changed with the diagnosis.
The story of Dwayne Johnson, otherwise known as "The Rock", began long before his career. Wrestling has been in his family for many generations. Dwayne's grandfather for example, was a great Samoan wrestler in the state of Hawaii. Later on, Dwayne's father went on to become a professional wrestler. It had been Dwayne's dream to become a professional wrestler ever since he was a little kid.
The announcement of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson being named “Sexiest Man Alive” definitely is perfect for this year. Anyone who has had the privilege of meeting The Rock knows just how kind the guy really is and his focus on fans is amazing. There have been years when People Magazine announced dudes that made people roll their eyes in disappointment, but this year the editors got it right and the fans couldn’t be happier.
Growing up as an only child I made out pretty well. You almost can’t help but be spoiled by your parents in some way. And I must admit that I enjoyed it; my own room, T.V., computer, stereo, all the material possessions that I had. But there was one event in my life that would change the way that I looked at these things and realized that you can’t take these things for granted and that’s not what life is about.
A calm crisp breeze circled my body as I sat emerged in my thoughts, hopes, and memories. The rough bark on which I sat reminded me of the rough road many people have traveled, only to end with something no one in human form can contemplate.
There are many things that have molded me into the person I am today such as being born into a family with four children. With three siblings, I have been forced to be able to work out problems from stealing each other’s toys to having to rush to the emergency room to get stiches because my brother chased me around the house and I tripped. My mother, father, brother, and two sisters were all born in Pennsylvania and I am the odd ball and I was born in Adrian, Michigan. From when I was a child I always loved being involved with sports because of my competitive nature. I grew up playing soccer and having success with that but then my love changed and I began playing lacrosse and football. I started playing lacrosse in middle school and played
The Rock plays many different roles and has many different names, that one might wonder which he really is. When he is wrestling, he is the Rock and when you research about him, as we did for this paper, we found out his birth name being Dwayne Johnson, and then of course, what he likes to refer to himself as, the “People’s Champion. These are just a few examples. He takes upon the role of an “actor” in so many different aspects that he himself becomes comfortable with what he is playing, and eventually this in turn takes over parts of him as a person.
The day finally came for me to leave, I had packed my things that morning in a mournful mood that morning.I did not want to go to nana’s but mom kept telling me it was for the better, over and over again like a broken record. After I said goodbye to mom I had gotten on the plane and put on my seatbelt, the ride was supposed to be short so I would only have around 30 minutes to contain my thoughts on how things would be.Mid-flight I reached in my backpack and grabbed my dad’s ball.I started wondering off into though, honestly I was more afraid than upset, what if nana did not like me?What if I did not fit in, this was like school all over again, which only made me upset again. The plane had landed and the flight attendant came.
