I placed my bags by the door and texted Riley saying I was heading over. Then I went to my room grabbed my wallet and walked out the door with my bag. It was cold and rainy but the rest of the week was supposed to be hot. I walk over to Riley’s and he’s waiting for me in his living room. Twenty minutes later Jack and Tanner showed up. We hung out for awhile but around eleven we got in the car and headed to Missouri. We were going to a lake house owned by friends of Riley’s parents and also his boss over the summer. The drive to missouri was the farthest I have ever gone out of state which is a big part of why the lake house is a “special place”. It took about three to four hours to get there because we had to make a few stops on the way but
it was totally worth the wait. The first night was us just hanging out because the rain had made the water levels rise on the lake so we couldn’t go out on their boat but we still went swimming around the dock behind the house. Later that night Riley, Jack, Tanner and I had a fire by the lake and just hung out and talked about what we were going to do over the weekend. At around one in the morning we finally went to bed. Early Saturday morning we all woke up and took turns taking a shower. After that we got ready and went upstairs for breakfast. The house was very nice on the inside and outside. Upstairs there was two bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room, and also a balcony which was where we ate our breakfast. A few hours later we went out on the boat to go tubing and swimming. We had a lot of fun and didn’t get back to the house until around six o’clock but went out right after. It wasn’t until eight when we decided to just go back and hang out around the house. Sunday morning we did the same as the day before, ate breakfast and went out on the water. Unfortunately I got really sick for some reason and had to go back. Since I didn’t want to go back on the boat I asked if I could take the golf cart out to go fishing. That was a horrible idea. I ended up getting the golf cart stuck in the neighbor's yard but luckily it was alright.
We take them inside and then finally were on the road it only took 4 hours. Then we arrive at Sky Zone and we signed the Waivers and waited for my brothers. When they came Skyler,Riley,Domonic and I all agreed to a dodge ball against Elliot. Then about an hour and a half later I told Lori I was hungry so she bought us nachos then after that I played reality dodge ball. The last activity I did was Foam Zone. Then for late lunch early dinner we went to Red Robin.Dad had a burger that had ghost pepper sauce, jalepenos, and pepper jack chesse. Then Elliot and Skylier,Domonic Riley and I all talked on how we would run away to wherever. Then sadly very sadly we had to go home :{.On the way home we played 20 questions.Once during 20 questions Lori said she was a food I asked “are you a vegetable”she said “yes”I asked”are you green”she said “yes”then I said are you asparugus she
It was a beautiful summer day when it happened. I was enjoying the fresh air and the amazing view of Walden Pond. The sun was shining and a slight breeze blew across my face. I love standing still and listening to the swishing of the leaves and the soft feet of animals running through the grounds.
My phone lit up as I got a text from Sid, my teammate that I have know for years, she texted “here.¨ I quickly put on my blue Nike sneakers and ran out of the house with my bulky softball bag.
You know the feeling when everything’s perfect, and suddenly your heart just stops? The 1 hour 48 minute drive to Lake Ontario was just like any other. Movie playing, siblings arguing, music blasting. My family hosts our annual 4th of July party up by Cape Vincent. With the warm air filled with the scent of the grill, and the sounds of laughter and music, that weekend was turning out to be just like the rest. Or at least that’s what we thought. 1311 Failing Shores Lane was never quiet during any of the previous events, but for some reason a dead silence draped over the lot.
It is a Tuesday night in San Marcos Texas, it is a bit chilly outside as I walk up and down the square looking for a section of bars I can observe. As I walked East on Hopkins street I stumbled upon two bars, Harpers Brick Oven Sports Pub and The Porch. Both bars were packed with what looked like a mix of native San Marcos residents, and college students. These two bars shed light on what the square is; a welcoming place with a carefree atmosphere for all people who call San Marcos home to enjoy.
Once upon a time, in a cabin far away, it was Halloween night October 31st 1973. A group of friends decided to go to a cabin in the woods to celebrate their favorite holiday together. Busses packed full of people were going to the party that me and Skyler had planned. We invited almost the whole school. Finally after hours of searching for our final destination we arrived. Skyler and I were the first to be at that raggedy torn down cabin. We brought the lights and the beers and the snacks , we spent hours and hours of decorating and setting up finally Andy showed up to help with all the heavy work.
When we got there I was pleased to be out of the car. We went to my grandma and grandpa’s house because we didn't have a house yet. My mom
My life intersects with Into The Wild because I never had a good relationship with my mom or stepfather Dan who was 21 years older than my mother. So I “escaped” to Columbia much like Chris did from his own reality. Dan would drink every day; you would rarely see him without a drink in his hand. His drink of choice would be either whiskey or beer depending on what he could afford. You could always tell when he was smashed and when he was I was the person he wanted to tear down with his words the most. I remember one night after my grandma just had surgery and she was staying with us my mom asked me to cook. I told her I would. I then went outside to check what I was grilling and I knew Dan was out there intoxicated.

I’m going to start out with the place I’ve lived my whole life Gresham, Oregon. It’s a pretty good thing having lived Gresham my whole life. Everything is super close like parks, stores, and schools. It was the best to grow up in opinion I got to see some stuff I should avoid and got to meet people that were helpful in my life. Also a plus of living in a smaller city is if you meet one person when you go to the park you will most likely see them another time. I have friends I played basketball with at Highland one year ago and still play against them to this day. There's a community more in Gresham, I think no one's afraid to talk to each other or ask for help and if someone needs help they won’t shrug them off. That’s one thing I don’t really see if other places everyone else has their own agenda and that doesn’t include knowing your neighbors. That’s insane, but it makes me happy that Gresham has friendly people unlike other cities. Maybe some of that is to do with schooling which is the next thing I want to talk about.
On the outskirts of a big, bustling city was a small town. It was a cheerful little town, full of blossoming flowers and cheerful wildlife. The people in this town had not been to the city, for it was too far and very different from their simple lifestyle. Every morning, they would get up and go through their daily routine, with no worries. They fended for each other and all was well.
Everything you will ever perceive is fabricated. Every quote about happiness in life is simply not true. There are empires and they decree the nation. Only fifteen years old and I have been in the vicinity of the Raft for almy choate life. Centuries ago the Earth was decreasing every single resources it obtained. We could all see that trees were scarce and animals were no longer. Human race was running out of time at a nimble pace. Fear quickened and heart rates of every human had spiked higher than the mountains of rubble containing the Earth’s oceans. Desperation lurked around the atmosphere we all began to look to the sky. Building a vicinity to house mankind in space was pinned as imaginable. The questionability if space could hold half
Once upon a time, I saw the world like I thought everyone should see it, the way I thought the world should be. I saw a place where there were endless trials, where you could try again and again, to do the things that you really meant to do. But it was Jeffy that changed all of that for me. If you break a pencil in half, no matter how much tape you try to put on it, it'll never be the same pencil again. Second chances were always second chances. No matter what you did the next time, the first time would always be there, and you could never erase that. There were so many pencils that I never meant to break, so many things I wish I had never said, wish I had never done. Most of them were small, little things, things that you could try to glue back together, and that would be good enough. Some of them were different though, when you broke the pencil, the lead inside it fell out, and broke too, so that no matter which way you tried to arrange it, they would never fit together and become whole again. Jeff would have thought so too. For he was the one that made me see what the world really was. He made the world into a fairy tale, but only where your happy endings were what you had to make, what you had to become to write the words, happily ever after. But ever since I was three, I remember wishing I knew what the real story was.
When I got home I quickly got ready, I ironed my cap and gown, did my make-up and hair, and made my last phone call to Andrew. I called him right before I left and asked him if he was sure he did not want a ride. Again he responded politely and on my way I went. When I got to the high school everyone was taking pictures, laughing, and talking about how they were g...
It was no later than we went to bed and it was soon Saturday morning and we were up and ready for the day. My mom and I headed into the small town to see what they had and afterward to the big city. After we
