Strive for the summit , strive for excellence. If you know me you can probably conject that I love the game of football it's my passion I could not live without it. My first year of tackle football was in 2012 we lost 2 games to the Leeward Steelers. Every year after that our team lost to them. During the off season all I could remember was those games loss after loss after loss that was movation to never stop. Every time I thought about taking a break during practice all I could think about was the steelers. When It came to the week when our team played the steelers I was prepared and ready to battle I wasn't going to lose again no, not this time. Our last practice before the game my coach told me to go hard not everyday but every

I took that piece of information and instilled it into my brain. Now it was game time it was a back and forth war when they scored next thing you know we scored it was a barn burner. It came down to the last play we were up 5 points I had the taste of victory in my grasps. Down! Set! Hut! The quarter back dropped back heaved the ball, it was like it was in slow motion watching the ball zip past the players. I flipped my head around just to see the receiver snatch the ball and tuck it away to score on the last play of the game . My heart sank, all the air was gone left from everyone except the steelers and steelers fans of course. I learned that sometimes the games not going to go your way and you just have to live and die with it, it's not a single person show. Your team has to prepare as hard as you do. You can't win by yourself but your team
Both on an off the field, my enthusiasm and motivation to obtain a goal is a trait that I am very proud of. I have faced many tasks where a leader had needed to step up and I am always willing to do so. I am also willing to get help when I need it. If I can’t complete a task by myself I do not mind asking a classmate, teammate, friend or a teacher for guidance. By bringing that openness and leadership to University of Charleston’s Athletic Training Program I believe that I can also attribute to the University of Charleston’s Mission Statement “to educate each student for a life of productive work, enlightened living, and community involvement.” By bettering the Athletic Training community by providing care to our Athletes I believe that I will be a great addition to the Athletic Training
You already know that being an athlete is hard work and lets not forget living up to others expectations in school. The day of your game you know that you have a big test the next day but also cant let your team and coach down. That means you are a rock stuck in
First up, you need to be inspired by somebody. Without being inspired, there is no reason to take up football. “When you speak of role models, when we talk to our kids, everybody is a role model, everyone, just as you look at a Michael Jordan to be the terrific athlete he is.” ( Walter Payton, Hall of Famer Running back.) Payton was right when he said this. Anyone can inspire you, so you need to be inspired by someone, which is the easy part, and start picking up a football.
Sports play a very important role in my life ever since I could walk. My interests in playing sports began at the age of three as my parents signed me up for soccer, flag football, basketball, and lacrosse. First grade started my competitive edge as I began to play for travel teams in various sport tournaments. This competitive edge transferred from the sports field to the classroom having teachers and coaches helping me be the best I can be. Sports have continually well-shaped and defined my character by teaching me how to accept a win from working hard, also how a loss is an opportunity to learn and fix mistakes.
I’ve played football for nine years now, and participated in over 85 games. I’ll openly admit that practices got to be the most dreaded part of my day by the time my senior year rolled around, nonetheless gameday’s never became wearisome. The miserable as well as submissive game day nerves can keep you from eating, thinking straight, and also make relaxing an unattainable task. Yet, as I sit here pondering back on football season, I’d treasure the displeasure of those nerves just one final time.
You need to know what you consider doing in life, and what is valuable towards you. After all if I try my best and work as hard as possible I think I can leave one of the best legacies ever. If it turns out that my goal of becoming pro does not come true, then I will find another path in life and set new goals. The biggest thing to me is staying close and not letting go of family. Some other things myself values are Sports, School, and my friends. When you're living life try to balance out what is important to you. If you go too far the goals will be to hard to complete and you may get down on yourself. If you follow this rule, success will come to you quicker and
I've recently came to the realization that plying full time soccer from when I was 5 years old to now has put a toll on my body.
As the Nike football spun through the air on a breezy fall day, all I could hear was “catch it with your eyes”. At 3 years old I could not understand what my dad actually meant when he said that.
One person is all it takes to change your life from better or worse. I would have never guessed that my football coaches would have been the people to change my life so much. When I first joined football my freshman year of high school I was an ok kid looking to be more involved in athletics. I wanted to be a starter but I was on the B team because I was lazy and didn’t listen. I didn’t really care about it either until sophomore year came, that’s when I met coach Aubry and mainly coach Rustman. They had a whole new level of standards and I liked it because it gave me a sense of responsibility.
However, along with the team element, we must remember one notion. Live life for you. Expect more out of yourself. Expect to reach the finish line, expect to finish first and expect to finish in one piece. Don't live your life striving to fulfill the expectations of your parents, your professors or your bosses. Live up to your own. Raise your expectations. Exceed them. Reach your potential.
For my team the end goal was to be the best in the state and prove that by winning the state championship. My junior year we were extremely close to that goal, but came up short. What’s important is finding the motivation to go the extra mile and persevere through hardships. Motivation is what we needed for my senior year and we pushed as hard as we could. That motivation allowed us to win the state championship. For a job in the medical field the final goal is always to make the patient as comfortable as possible and be effective in providing
be able to keep up with your team and you will keep going rather than
Look at everything as positive experience like for Ex. If one of your teammates encourage you during practice but say it in a high tone look at it as positive because most of the time their encouraging you do to become a better player and person and then you have to talk to yourself with positive thoughts in order to keep your drive going. Staying positive could be hard, after having a challenging try out or not learning it the first time or second, third or fourth time. You just have to look at positive things that make you happy. View yourself succeed and that will make a positive
If a football player is interested in becoming a professional football player, it’s essential to be on a college football team. If a player wants to go to the pros, he should attend a college that puts a lot of emphasis on its football program. If the player shows promise on a college team, that’s one way to open the door to being successful. Players need to learn about the sport, in addition to knowing the rules, regulations, and policies. They should read about the history and about the players of the past (Field 11). It is also imperative that the athlete train to become a professional football player and start out early like youth football leagues (“How…Professional”).
