I have always been surrounded by couples. I was the person who would joke around and sing Hunter Hayes’s “Everybody's got somebody but me” I would despise Valentine's day. To me, it was just a holiday that was created so chocolate companies to make money, and couples to make out everywhere. Until now I thought I would always die alone (with my 5 cats). I meet Derek in high school. My friend Milagra and and I went to our first high school football game. I had heard of him my first day of high school, they said he was very nice and kind of popular, but he never would have liked me or at least that’s what I thought. He walked by me and asked, “Aren’t you in my class? Isn’t your name, Lila?” I nodded and tried to say “yea” but I stumbled over my words. Derek replied for a simple, “See in class” and walked away. …show more content…
As the night continued, every time Derek walked by he would look at me and winked. The next day in class, Derek walked by and sat down right beside me. I started to say hi as he blurted out, “Wanna go out for pizza sometime?” it took me back for a second, then replied, “Sure, I would really enjoy that.” He proceeded to give me his number so we could find time in both of our schedules to go
We instantly started talking about the film we wanted to see and proceeded to get our tickets together. After the movie, he politely asked if it was okay for him to hold my hand and I let him. We walked around the whole mall hand-in-hand talking about the movie we just watched. Then we went outside for a full-blown make out session in a secluded spot. The only reason we stopped was because security told us to leave the premises, we could have easily been there all night. My mom had dropped me off at the mall that night and so he offered to give me a ride home. Right before dropping me off he asked for me to be his girlfriend. And then he shared he was already falling deeply in love with me. I was so shocked by how fast it all happened and it all seemed like a dream to me. I agreed to be his girlfriend, but told him a benevolent lie when I also agreed that I was also falling in love with him already because I did not want to hurt his feelings (Alder, pg 97). Our first date was intriguing because it first felt like we were barely initiating our relationship, then experimenting, then straight to intensifying, all the way to integrating the relationship by the end of the night.
The entire class and their “Morries” gathered together in a room at the library. All the students were all very nervous, we had spent almost six months on these projects, and we were about to show them to not only each other, but to the people we spent the last six months writing about. Our teacher told us to pick an excerpt to read from the book. When it was my turn, I chose to read the description that I wrote about who Robert was. I was nervous to read this in front of him, because I was worried he would not like it. While I was reading,I made eye contact with him. He was so focused and he looked as if he was enjoying himself. After I was done reading, I handed him the binder that contained the book. He was so thrilled. I could tell by the way his eyes crinkled when he smiled. I also realized that I was thrilled. Not thrilled that the project was over, but thrilled that I had accomplished what I set out to do.
After my birthday weekend, my family and I, all went to Harbor Island for a week or so. It was the family tradition to usually go there on my birthday, but this year we went the week after, so that meant no skating for me for awhile. I always go out to eat the Saturday after my birthday once I get back from the beach, but that year I went to the beach early the Saturday after my birthday till the next Sunday, and then out to eat the Saturday after we got back. That meant three Saturdays of no skating. BUt back to the real story, after all my friends were done coming up to me, I was ready to go skate. I noticed the floor was really shiny but I now had forgotten about my new slick skates that I had gotten at my birthday party the week before. I went out on the floor, made a few laps around and then one of my favorite songs came on. I looked around for my brother and his friends, but they were nowhere to be found, so I just started doing my own thing. I started swaying my skates in and out of each other, where the wheels would touch. By this time I wasn’t looking down at my feet anymore, and somebody I really liked walked in the door and It caught my attention. You know the puppy love, the guy who you fall head over heels for when you’re ten years old. Well that was him, he was older and my brother said I wasn't allowed to have a
I was strolling down the hallway, trying to figure out where my class would be, when I bumped into a girl. “Oh goodness! I am so sorry. I wasn 't looking," she said and bent down to grab my file and books even before I could. I sighed and replied, “No, it 's fine." I wiped the sweat, which I had accumulated from walking all over the school, off my forehead. She stood up and handed me my books. I realized she was also a freshman by her orange colored uniform. She flipped her hair and said while grinning," Let me introduce myself. I 'm Natasha. I 'm from Canada so I don 't really know much about this town. How about you?" Even though I had never met her before, I could tell she seemed nice so I introduced myself. I had to make a judgment to decide whether to befriend the girl or not. Little did I know this stranger was
The first few weeks of that Fall semester were some of the best of my life as we saw each four or five times a week between classes and church, we discovered innumerable commonalities that ranged from being previously home schooled to having the same political views and favorite color. His face showed pure delight when I uttered the words, his eyes lit up and he flashed me one of those incredible smiles, complete with dimples that he used to always give me in the past. But although his face said yes, his mouth said no. He made a dozen excuses that conflicted with each other, ranging from not wanting to date in college to having another girlfriend.
“Ah! Somebody call the police this guy just stole my purse!” a random woman screamed. As I remembered, my cousin works for the police at Pembroke Pines, so I called her and told her to come very fast; there was burglary going on. She got the there in less than a second. Everything happened very quickly; she got the burglar and gave the woman her purse back.
We always hung out to plan the rest of the fight so we could do it the next day. So the next day I went to August’s house and we planned out the rest of the fight, the next hour we went to school and we were sitting in class and we went to change classes and there was,Julian standing right by the door waiting for us.Apparently he heard about our plan to gang up on him,but we proceeded to our plan anyways and I punched then and there and he ran away and started to cry and walk away. Eventually he moved away to another town, and we got in trouble but it wasn’t that bad, because we only got detention for a week.So after all of that team work we were best friends forever,we also got along alot better. Also we where way closer as friends and he knew me very well.We talked way better so that was really
I had Ashley Gilmore as a date and I was super excited about that, I had a huge thing for Ashley and this was my opportunity to make something of it. The dance itself went pretty well but it was not until the after party things took off. Rachel Hughes threw a big party at her house after the dance. It was so funny because her parents were home the entire time. They knew guys were spending the night and they were fine with it they just did not think there would be alcohol. There was a lot of it. As Rachel’s parents were sleeping in their room we hauled in coolers full and beer and who knows whatelse. There were a ton of people in that small basement and that just added to the experience. Know to add some back story, I am sure that I remember how crazy Hunter Borger and Mckenzie Smith were all throughout high school. They were off and on and just when we thought they were finally done they would hook up, it was an absolute disaster. Well Hunter asked and went with Emily Etter to homecoming that year and it did not go over well with Mckenzie. Hunter had been back and forth between Mckenzie and Emily for years now, these two girls hated each other. We never knew why Hunter went for Emily, she never dated him, she would lead him on right to where Hunter thought he was in the clear and leave him. But at the same time we never knew why Mckenzie always took him back, he clearly liked Emily more but Mckenzie was
Growing up as an only child I made out pretty well. You almost can’t help but be spoiled by your parents in some way. And I must admit that I enjoyed it; my own room, T.V., computer, stereo, all the material possessions that I had. But there was one event in my life that would change the way that I looked at these things and realized that you can’t take these things for granted and that’s not what life is about.
My name is Autumn Greenfield, I am 17 years old; i’m also a senior at Shadow Falls High School and as you can see I’m running late this morning. As I continue running down the block I start to see someone in the distance by the gates of the school, as I get closer to the gate I realize it’s my best friend Kate. I yell to her “ Hi Kate!” I smile and wave as she sees I’m also late for class, She yells back ”Hi Autumn!” When I reach the gates of the school Kate walks up to me and smiles “
He was sitting to my right at the bus stop. I figured I probably needed to join a support group for the way I was continuously let down by my tendency to fall in love with strangers on public transport, but his clammy hands and shy eyes that were blueish gray told me he wouldn't mind it if I did. He directed his attention from a chunk of gum on the floor to me and asked where I was headed.
When I began my lessons with Ken, they took place at school, but then somewhere down the line, he wanted them to be at his house. He was the teacher, and I was told that you never argued with what the teacher had to say. Our next lesson, I showed up at his house at 1:00 sharp, ready to sing. I had never been to his house before, and I was a little nervous about seeing it. However, when he opened the door and greeted me with his cute little smile, I knew there was nothing to be nervous about. We started our lesson by singing a few songs for fun (we always sang duets together). He said that I wasn't singing my best and asked if I was stressed. Of course I was stressed! I was the lead in our school musical and it would open in two weeks. "One can never reach their full potential when they are stressed," he said, as he began to rub my shoulders. This was weird for me, but like I said, he was the teacher, and you never argue with the teacher. We finished our lesson, I thanked him and I was on my way out. Before I left though, he took my face in his hands, and he kissed me goodbye. I didn't really know what to do. Had that just happened? Did he just kiss me? Did I kiss him back? Is that wrong? He's too old! I'm too young! He's my teacher! We spoke on the phone several times that week, but never brought up the kiss.
Initial contact came the moment he caught my eye during cross-country. I perceived immediate attraction and my friends began referring to him as Paige’s crush. Similarity of interests connected us and provided opportunities for interactional contact through high school soccer. The relationship developed from afar as we watched and learned about each other through the proximity of our neighborhoods, living only a mile apart. Exhilarating, heart-pumping rushes of emotion overwhelmed me each time John called. Showing Interest, John pursued me and wanted to spend time together. Our personalities meshed. Uncontrollable Duchenne smiles took over when I saw or thought about him. Team dinners required no need to speak because our nonverbal communication and eye contact said it all, demonstrated by winks and silly faces. By the end of the summer we were bound and officially dating.
In the middle of my reconnaissance mission I was in the Himalayas searching for a lost Soviet nuke I was drawn to an ostensively creepy cave, as if my conscience was telling to go there. I was lost from my team, couldn’t be deported, and had all resources at my dispense. With all of that under consideration I entered the grim cesspool of a cave. As I entered what appeared to be hundreds of cave dwelling creatures came running out as if something was chasing them. Ominously a light appeared and habitually I pulled out my gun and slowly advanced. It was a small insignificant light, almost as if it was from a flashlight that you would get from a dollar store. I moved forward. Or at least tried to. It was like a invisible wall was keeping me from going any further into
On June 13, 2011, I woke up a happy and excited 17 year old for it was my graduation day and that meant no more high school, no more nagging teachers, and no more drama. I met my friends and my boyfriend Andrew in the school parking lot and away we went to practice graduation. After we had practiced walking and getting our diplomas we all went to lunch and discussed what we had wanted to do with the rest of our lives. After what we had thought to be one of the last lunches together I went to Andrews house to hang out for a bit. We talked about him going away and me staying here and all of the normal stuff that applies in a relationship when one goes away. Before I left his house I asked him if he had wanted a ride to graduation, due to the fact he was in a car accident four days prior and the only vehicle he had at the moment was his motorcycle. He responded with a polite, "Nah." That's when I knew he wanted to take his bike.
