On 8-9-2017 at about 0245 hrs I received a call, via my department issued cell phone, from the Auburn Police Department’s Record Department. The call was a pre-recorded message, which advised that I was being requested to responded to the Auburn Police Department as part of the Crime Scene Responds Team. I contacted the Auburn Records Department, who confirmed that I was being requested to responded to the departments as part of the crime scene unit. I arrived at the police department at about 0330 hrs, I contacted Sgt Douglas who advised that he was going to conduct a briefing. During that briefing, Sgt Douglas advised that the unit was being requested to respond to Kent for an officer involved shooting incident. Sgt Douglas stated that
On 01-01-17 at 0023 hours I was monitoring the radio and heard that Officer Harrell #3441 and Officer Thebeau #8402 were involved in a vehicle pursuit in the area of Fair Oaks Avenue and Corson Street. I responded to the above location to assist. They advised responding units that the suspect was involved in a traffic collision on the eastbound 210 Freeway Fair Oaks Avenue off-ramp.
I was dispatched by communication to a reported Assault with a Deadly Weapon at 133 Industrial Way, San Jose/ Brother’s Inn (Men’s homeless shelter). I arrived at the shelter 1035 hrs. While I reached to the location, I saw a victim man, who is very badly injured on his face, and two other mans (Manager and client) in the Day Room of shelter. I also observed all the furniture in the day room was all turned over. I also advised communication to response a fire/ambulance for treatment of victim. I went to the victim ask for is identification and statement about the happened. After taking V-Rush statement, transported him to the county hospital by fire/ambulance EJ7 for health treatment. Then, I start getting more information about the incident from Witness’s. First, I contract with the shelter Manager and obtained his identification and statement regarding the incident. Second, I went to Client and obtained his identification and statement regarding to what happened. Both (Manager and client) were separated at the time of the interview. After the interview, I advise the communication to look for suspect at St. James park (1st St. & St.) and for his record check. I took 2 photos of the victim full body and 3 photos of injuries by point them. I also took 4 photos of the day room of shelter. All this photos was booked into the county jail later as police
My homicide case began when the Shreveport Police Department (SPD) received a call from a male caller via 911 reporting he found a body of a black male found in a park near a cul-de-sac in a residential area. I was dispatched and responded to the scene. Upon arrival, I began steps documenting the crime scene. I initiated a rough sketch of the scene and initiated my field notes. A cordon was initiated as I began identifying possible evidence and identifying witnesses and suspects. I canvassed the area and found four 9mm shell casings near the body.
Getting a police ride along isn’t the easiest form of interview to get. It took me a two week process so I can set up a date to do a ride along. The process includes a background check and the reason why I wanted to do a ride along. The officer gave a strict dress code that I had to follow for that day. The current alarming violent criminal acts and economic situation in Vance County has motivated me to run for Sheriff. I have teenage children who are beginning to move towards adulthood, and I want them to be proud of Vance County, to be excited to live here, and be able to earn a good living working here. But, I just don't want this for only my kids, I want every parent and their children also. So I am motivated to run for Sheriff, because I'm personally invested in the future of Vance County.

I was in Ohio when I first came to America as an Chinese exchange student, I live in a little town surrounded by endless corn fields, basically in the middle of nowhere. I went to a small public high school, which has only 2 Chinese students, including me. All of a sudden my world is completely changed, nothing from my old days is left, and I’m totally not ready for that. The stressors I had during the initial stages of the call was determining how to respond and making contact with the suspect that is known to be dangerous to law enforcement. The emotions I was feeling were all over the board as I was extremely nervous at what I was going to discover. “At any time during the police officers’ shifts, they may be called upon to respond to situations in which there is a threat to their physical well-being, or physical well-bing of a fellow police officer, or the general public”(Pg, 400). As I arrive all I could think about is where is the suspects were. The suspect is known violent offender and is in a gang. My heart was already pounding because I was responding with lights and sirens to the call. My anxiety was set in full speed trying to figure out how things were going to play out once I arrived. “ These critical incidents are sudden and are perceived in a way that the officer’s coping mechanisms are overwhelmed and the officer is in distress” (Pg, 400). With these types of calls nothing is routine as each call has many factors involved that are not like other domestic violence
On 06/03/2018 at about 0235 hours, I was dispatched to 3212 Black Jade Avenue in reference to a sexual assault that had occurred.
