One day Nancy was at a football field. She was watching the Ravens VS. the Steelers. She was so happy and screaming and yelling. But at the 4th quarter she started to lose her voice. She then talked to her friend Jack, but nothing came out. Then Jack called the doc. He got there as fast as he could because he wanted to watch the game too. When he got there, there was only about 3 minutes left. When the doc examined her, He said “You need to take these medicines for at least 2 weeks.” Nancy said “Good, in 2 weeks there is another football game.” After that she watched the rest of the game with Doc and Jack. After the game when she went home she forgot the medicine at the game! She then had to turn around back to Pittsburgh. When she got there

One day Hazel and George were watching ballerinas on tv , George was toying with the vague notion that maybe dancers should not be handicapped, but before he could finish his thoughts another noise in his ear scattered them and he winced. Hazel asked what the latest sound had been, and he said, “sounded like somebody hitting a milk bottle with a ball peen

I’m thinking especially of “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk,” Ben Fountain’s shaggy novel, the winner of last year’s National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction. Here now is a book by Nate Jackson called “Slow Getting Up: A Story of NFL Survival From the Bottom of the Pile,” and it’s everything you want football memoirs to be but never are: hilarious, dirty, warm, human, honest, weird.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Lucky Whitehead has had his NFL contract terminated after being falsely attached to a shoplifting crime in June. Reports emerged on Tuesday that he had missed a court hearing relating to a case in which he had stolen $40 worth of goods from a Virginia convenience store in June. Players like Lucky are being falsely accused everyday. The NFL needs to update their fine policy.

It was the last season of my football career and it could not have been going better. We were winning games and were having a blast. The team was giving high fives and banging helmets together. We were a true family; growing closer than any team I had ever been with before. I was standing with my teammates as we said the same prayer before our game as we did every week. “Our Father Who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.” The deep, strong voices rang throughout the room sending chills down my back. I loved it.
The Joe Paterno story clearly indicates that the media will quickly spin a story for their own benefit. Upon hearing about Mr. Paterno falling ill, CBS Sports decided to report that Joe Paterno passed away on twitter as well as it's own website. The inaccurate story spread across the internet, even though it had nothing to back up it's information. Joe Paterno's son, Jay, had to take to twitter to discredit the story about his father's death, but did inform the world that his dad was in critical condition. Shortly after, Joe Paterno did in fact die. This story revealed to me that reporters like to predict the future based off of information that they already know. I can infer that the CBS Sports reporters may have know about Joe's condition
August, a month that brings unbearable heat, uncontrollable sweating, and most importantly, competition. The pressing heat of August can really change a man, unless he has something to keep him busy. For me, it is football during the day, and fantasy football during the night. After a grueling day of practice, I can always come home to my phone, and open the ESPN fantasy football app. I have played fantasy football since eighth grade with some of my closest friends. We all treat it as a life or death game which allows us to bring out our competitive side. Now, have I won a championship in 5 years? The answer to that is not important. What is important is the recent argument my friend Jake and I have gotten ourselves into. Last fantasy season,
Don attended Aquinas college, and Nancy stayed at home sometimes attending classes at community college. At Aquinas Don studied history and he wanted to become a teacher. One reason he wanted to become a teacher is that in highschool he had a history teacher called Mr.Robinson. But He was not any old history teacher to him, he was a mentor. Mr.Robinson pushed him to his limit, on the very first test don was confident that he new everything. He took the test and he got it back the next day, he failed. The first thing he did was walk right up to the teacher and said, “I did not fail this i knew everything”. But Mr.Robinson said “No, you just don’t know how to take a test. From that point on the only thing Don wanted to do was prove Mr.Robinson
When I started playing football I was about eleven years old. I played for my park organization which was Brown Park. My first team name I played for was the Titians. The coach for the Titians is the one who actually made me come play because he had seen me in the basketball gym. He said I could move for my size and would like me to play with him. I said no but then he went talk to my mom and next thing I know my mom tells me I am playing football next year. I was horrible the first couple weeks but got better later in the season. I became one the best defense lineman and offensive lineman players on the team. Then when I got older I played football in middle school at Acadian Middle and Lafayette Christian Academy. My first year playing running back was when I went to Acadian Middle. In my middle school years I was just the power back. Players, people, and even coaches all thought I could not have been a speed back. But, when I got to high school at Lafayette Christian Academy, I started showing a glimpse that I can be an overall line back. It did not truly happen until the biggest play of my career came. When I told my teammate, Sterling Miller
As the Nike football spun through the air on a breezy fall day, all I could hear was “catch it with your eyes”. At 3 years old I could not understand what my dad actually meant when he said that.
