I use the MTA everyday to go to work, as a New Yorker is usual to see some “crazy” people doing random things on your train ride. However, last night when i was on my way back home I observed a indigent sitting in the wooden bench at a train stop he was whispering to himself in a weird language, it was english but i could barely understand what he was saying then 2 minutes after he got up and started yelling looking straight forward but there was nobody there, he yelled “ screw you, I’m going to stab you and kill you, you are so D**M sick” then he whispered to himself trying to apologize to his own hallucination. I felt sorry for his situation, he needs help and being an indigent more than likely he is not getting help, unless someone reports
him to the police and goes under arrest then the system would take care of him by either taking him to the correction department or hospitalized him in a mental health institution. Also, I observed everybody going towards one side of the station trying to avoid him. People suffering from Schizophrenia can become very violent due to their hallucinations and mood swings.

When you were in high school or just around town, did you ever see a mentally challenged person be treated like dirt? If so, then you should see the movie "Radio." In one part of the movie "Radio", James Robert "Radio" Kennedy went around the high school football field every day. One day, Coach Harold Jones invited him inside the gates. The football players took advantage of Radio and locked him in the equipment shed while the players threw footballs at it. After Coach Jones unlocked the shed, Radio, played by Cuba Gooding Jr. ran out of the field.
In the story, Here’s Herbie by Mike Feder, the speaker describes his feelings of being self conscious on the train to his doctor's appointment. There is a man on the train who is mentally handicap and doesn’t realize that people could possibly be judging him, while he is imagining that he is “driving the train” with his toy steering wheel. The speaker simply wanted to stand up and look out with window but he was too nervous because he thought the New Yorkers would judge him; when in reality they simply look and look away. He says “..I felt that it would be extremely uncool to stand there like some jerk-off and just stare out the window. When I was fifteen, I didn't want to seem like I was six” (Page 156). As the story proceeds, the speaker find the courage to get up and stop caring about what people thought about him. He then had had his defining moment.

The tour at Twin Towers Correctional Facility was a great experience. I had the opportunity to experience a brief overview of what inmates with mental illness go through everyday in jail. These inmates are mainly grouped by the severity of the crime they committed, severity of their mental illness, and sexuality. The tour took place in one of the twin towers, which has seven floors and each floor houses different level of inmates. The most severe mentally ill inmates, who have no free time, are housed in the seventh floor. These are the inmates that throw “gases” the most frequently, which are any form of bodily fluids/solids towards the staff. Examples of the typical gases are feces, urine, and blood. As the floors drop, the inmates’ degree of being dangerous to themselves and/or others decreases. Once inmates are put into a certain floor, inmates have the opportunity to go down floors based on their cooperation with personnel and if their mental illness appears to be controlled. Psychiatrists evaluate every inmate upon entering the facility and are able to see his or her progress. Some inmates never make it out of the facility even though they did their time for the crime they committed. These inmates are too mentally ill to be released to the outside world. In addition, inmates wear different color clothes and that lets jailers know how to behave around different inmates. Some are more dangerous than others; therefore, a jailer needs to be more careful with some inmates than others. Also, some inmates do not wear clothes because they are under suicide watch, thus they only wear a blue suicide vest.
Whenever we are reminded of NYC, we think of Times Square or The Status of Liberty. However, we always forget what is right under our noses; the NYC subway system. I like to think of the subway system as a labyrinth because of it’s intricate network of passages that guides us to all over NYC. Just by looking at a map of the subway system overwhelms me because it is so hard to imagine how much work was put into making this beautiful yet complex structure. An average New Yorker may ignore the daily lives in the subway system but if you look closely you can see multiplicity of events taking place.

The New York City Subway System, or the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), has become the “life line” of New York City (NYC) since people are reliant on the subway system for commuting to different places within the city. One such person, who buys this fact, is a person by the name of SunDo K, who runs and owns a restaurant business in Cypress, California. He claimed in his profile on Yelp that, “One of the best part about New York City is traveling via the subway.” Now there are also acid twists and turns into this. As my family piled into our car for our four-hour drive, I sincerely hoped my brothers wouldn’t ruin the best chance that we’ve had in a long time. It was a project lead by the U.S. with help from Canada and the United Kingdom. The scientists (including Albert Einstein) became aware of Nazis making efforts to create atomic bombs. The Nazis were creating atomic bombs to attempt to purify Uranium-235 (An isotope of Uranium that makes up about 0.72% of natural uranium that is said to be fissile or can sustain a chain reaction) . I have heard stories from my peers about how loud it is in New York City and after seeing how the driving is, there I found a lot of things in common. People were screaming at each other, honking and sometimes sharing some “nice words” to one another. The body language is the same and the level of patience as well; the only difference I found is that drivers slow down when you cross.
