MY DREADFUL APPENDICITIS Have you ever had an appendicitis? Well Let me tell you about the time that I had mine taken out. When I was in fourth grade, everything was fine I had a lot of friends back in elementary school. Back then I was falling a little behind in math. But hey let's be honest I know that a lot of us don’t really like math. The subject that I was really good at was reading and writing. Anyway we were all on the blue rug in ms. Tetleys classroom and we were reviewing math homework. And actually i did pretty well. For like the first time ever. Ms.Tetley was my fourth and fifth grade teacher. It sounds crazy but it’s true. It was time to go home and like always I had homework and today was a friday . So my Mom picked me up. Like everyday and I came home and started working on it .And my stomach started hurting pretty bad. I told my Mom and she thought that I was just trying to get out of doing my homework. So I kept bothering her until BAM! she believed me after ten thousand tries. We went to my Mom's friends house her name was Julie. And they just got over the flu. So technically my appendicitis started off with the flu and my little brother got the flu but never got the appendicitis. …show more content…
The next day it hurt even worse.
I went to sleep and then...gross I threw up and it was fascinating because in my sleep I said Mom! Mom! Mom! I think I’m gonna throw up. And I woke up and did. So my Mom and I went to the hospital. They told us that I just had the flu and so I could go home. So I did. But the next day my stomach hurt even worse. So we went to different hospital and they did something called a blood count and my Mom said ok this Is an appendicitis so after they took my blood count that took them for what felt like three hours. After that they transferred me to the children's hospital in an ambulance. THEY DIDN’T TURN THEIR LIGHTS ON. And that's what made me
disappointed. When we arrived at the children's hospital they showed Mom and me in our room. After a few hours they set back my surgery and they kept holding back my surgery. Until it was time to go In. I thought finally but at the same time My mind was so scared I felt like I was going to die!!!But at the same I would of In three days if the doctor didn’t give me surgery. I was super lucky to have that happen to me.Because now If people walk up to me and say did you get your appendix taken out I can say yes I did. After the surgery I was being rolled on that little wheel thing that you lay on before surgery. To my room everybody was all up In tears and they were all happy that I survived surgery.I was so happy to see my family and that I was still alive we went back to the room and I was inpressed by how fast that seemed to go by.But for the people that where not asleep being worked on It felt like 1 or 2 hours.Well I am glad I am back to normal again.
6th grade came and my friends and I were split up, and some of my friends were in the same hall as me. I was put into what the students called “the dumb hallway”, some people weren’t as smart as the other kids in a different hallway but, let’s get back on track. Begin called a “dumb kid” started a little of my depression. I didn’t do my homework unless, it was important and I didn’t do my classwork at the best of my ability. I used my phone to read a lot instead of paying attention
... back to the Renaissance, appendicitis is a common condition occurring in 250,000 United States patients yearly (Prystowsky, Pugh, & Nagle, 2005). Along with its controversial cause, the diagnosis of appendicitis can be tricky. The diagnosis of appendicitis can be made through a physical examination or with imaging techniques, but no matter how appendicitis is diagnosed, it is always vital that appendicitis be caught early on in the disease. The combination of an early diagnosis and surgical treatment promises the expulsion of the progression of the disease prior to the point of perforation, which is associated with increased morbidity. However, the diagnosis of appendicitis does become more difficult in atypical cases, such as those involving the elderly, young children, those with a uniquely placed appendix, or with those with a complicated medical history.
I was about ten years old and in the fifth grade. My mother had just picked me up from school that day and had bought me some delicious popcorn. I could not wait to get home to pop my popcorn, and we lived all the way in Rose Hill, Alabama. I was getting pretty restless by the time we got home.
In first grade, my teacher Ms. Chile walked our class to the restrooms before we went to lunch and we lined up in front of the bathrooms and she let us go in four at a time. I was in line and this girl kept talking to me and I would respond. Ms. Chile told me to stand on the wall and not talk. I sat down
Appendicitis is the inflammation of the appendix which is filled with pus. When the growth of the appendix is more it require removal either by laparoscopy or laparotomy.
...efore it burst entirely, which saved me a lot of time in the hospital. The whole ordeal changed me both physically and mentally. At the time I was so caught up in the moment I barely understood the seriousness of the situation. That night I realized that if medical technology was not as advanced, or if doctors were not as intelligent as they are, I might not be alive today. In addition to giving me a renewed respect for those who study medicine, my appendicitis instilled in me a more realistic way of thinking. I now have a fuller understanding of why I should be thankful to be alive, and I will not forget it anytime soon. Before my appendix burst, being seriously hurt seemed like it could never happen to me, but after having surgery I realized that I was not as invincible as I once thought I was, and I began to comprehend my actions before I performed them.
Appendicitis is inflammation of the appendix, caused by a foreign object, stools, and even infections. The appendix is a 3 1/2 inch long tube of tissue that extends from the large intestine, with no known functions. We all can live without the appendix with no apparent consequences. There is no known reason why people may suffer from appendicitis, but people at the age of 10 to 30 years old are more at risk for appendicitis, especially males. Heredity of appendicitis is not known. If left untreated it can cause severe pain and consequences like ruptured of the worm like tube and a pocket of pus may form, leading to death.
A sharp pain in my side wakes me from my deep sleep. I thrust my body across the side of my bed and vomit into the bucket below. Moments later I hear footsteps approaching my bedroom. My mom peeks her head through my door and frowns when she sees the vomit filled bucket. Although this was a familiar scene for her, I could sense her worry as she wiped my face with a washcloth.
The human appendix is a very interesting and troublesome organ. For quite some time, scientists have claimed that the appendix was redundant; however, recently, scientists believe they have finally discovered the function of the appendix in humans. The function is not life altering, though. People who have been diagnosed with appendicitis can live their lives just as normal without an appendix as they could with one. Appendicitis is the inflammation of the human appendix, which affects one in fifteen people at any age; there are a few methods of treatment to remove the appendix and discard the fatal risks.
A family friend, Rose Widmer, came over as my mom and dad were getting ready to leave. She would be staying with us because it looked like they would not be coming home that night. As Kelly and I were eating our supper, my mom came into the kitchen and sat down beside me. She explained to us that our dad was very sick, and that he was having trouble with his brain. She used the term "brain abscess." She said that this is what the doctors speculated was wrong with him, but they needed to go to Fort Wayne to take precautions.
I didn't eat very much because my stomach was upset and I was full of liquid. A week later after being sick I finally went to the E.R at Akron children's hospital in Boardman to see what was wrong.
I felt a shock go through my body as I numbed up. “Wh wha what did she want?” My math teacher Mrs. Armstrong was worried about me and the fact that I do all the work in class and homework and when it comes time to take a test I fail. My teacher was willing to let me retake my test.
I was not an exceptional high-school student. I did not participate in sports, nor did I achieve straight A’s and the only thing I participated in was PALs because of my love for young children. I was bland, exceedingly bland until I got tired of being average. Average was not going to be enough for me. My senior year of high-school, my Quantitative Reasoning teacher, Mrs. Cooley, made me develop a love for mathematics.
You have been in my life ever I’ve been in kindergarten. Every time I learn about you my teachers are horrible. For some reason, I believe math teachers are cursed with some poisonous potion that makes them cruel and horrifying. When I was in third grade, my first day of school was awesome. We all got to know each other and we spent the day drawing and writing about our summer. I thought my teacher was nice until we started to get working. A week past by and we started to do some math. At that point she changed from a blooming tulip to vine of poison ivy ready to infect someone. I thought to myself what could have caused such an enormous change in such a small time. It finally got to me: math.
Half way through that year my cousin who is like a brother to me decided it was time for him to move to Phoenix Arizona accompanied by his newly wedded wife and try to make a living there. Him leaving really hit me hard, I was pretty close to becoming depressed. During that time I preferred to keep my mind busy as a result my grades shot up almost forty percent. Math in not my favorite subject at all, but for the first time in my entire life I can say that I really enjoyed and looked forward to going to my first period math class, I had the highest grade in that particular class for that semester. For the rest of that school year after overcoming all my problems I was just going to school getting my work done, get home, finish homework and do some work around the house.
