It was Wednesday, a cold, dark, stormy Wednesday. I was coming home from a long day at work. My boss just demoted me, and my paycheck has been lowered. I thought I was going broke because I was demoted last week too. I was in my 2008 model Honda that was not worth a penny. I drove past hundreds of pawn shops and drug stores. My wife told me to pick up some Tylenols because our only son was sick with the flu. I drive down to the nearest CVS. The parking lot was flooded with water, and it seemed that nobody wants to come here because I was the only one here. I walked in the beaten-up store. There was only one cashier at the stand, and there was still Christmas decorations up. It is April. I get the Tylenol as I was told and picked up a lottery ticket as well. …show more content…

As I walk out of the CVS, it starts to rain out of nowhere. I jog to my car because I didn't want my nice clothes wet. This was the only pair of jeans and button up shirt I had. I thought I was going broke. I plop down in worthless car and drive home. The lottery ticket I picked up was a scratch off, so I didn't have to wait till 10:00 to see if I won. I reached the next red light in about 8 minutes. I sat there in my car and decided to scratch off my $5 lottery ticket. My lucky numbers were 16, 14, 22, 5, 66, and 74. The rules for the ticket were simple. If I got three or bellow, I would get 100 dollars, but if I got more than three I would win $1,000,000 dollars. Back in my past, I bought a lot of tickets.
