I will never forget when I went to Six Flags at the age of 16. I decided to ride the ride they called Scream. I was a little heavier than I am now so when boarding the ride my brother had challenged me to a fifty dollar bet which we both would have after two weeks of allowances. We both shook hands and agreed to get on the ride and whoever was the most scared or vomit would have to pay the other person. We decided to purchase Lemonade which taste like some fresh squeezed lemons and was sweet like a piece of candy. I had sweat dripping from my forehead as If I had been working in My Grandfathers farm all day feeding the cattle. Boy did that lemonade quench my thirst. It was the middle of May and boy was it hot. I couldn’t wait to get on the ride to feel some breeze. The wait lasted about thirty minutes and seemed like forever. When I turn came to board the ride we were happy, tired, and ready. We pulled the top down to lock us in the seats. After a few minutes when everyone boarded there was a message given over the loud speaker of the do’s and don’ts while on this ride for the next few minutes. The lead person came around and checked everyone …show more content…
The ride went side to side like a see saw and up and down. We also were upside for a few seconds. I started saying what I thought was my last prayer and asking God for forgiveness. I just knew that my last day on earth would be at six flags. I begin to hear the ride slow down and the lead guy start announcing and thanking us for riding. I started saying Thank You Jesus!!! I got off the ride and immediately started to vomit and hyperventilate. I told my brother of my troubles and he begins to sob also knowing he could have lost me. He decided to say the bet was off and we hugged each other and Thank God again. We decided to leave we had enough excitement to last a
When I was about 10 years old, my mom took me to a roller coaster theme park in Massachusetts. I was terribly afraid of the huge roller coaster that appeared in front of me, and while I waited in line, the anxiety of waiting to die in a roller coaster made my heart beat through my chest. The huge coaster went up and down and up and down, and even though my mom continuously asked me if I was sure that I wanted to go, I repeatedly said yes. I wanted to make it clear that I was a man, not a crying baby. Stepping onto that roller coaster was what I remember the most.
It was the summer of 2012 and my family was taking another trip to Six Flags Great America. Earlier that summer we went just for me to be disappointed. At the time I wasn’t 54 inches yet and couldn’t ride any of the rides that I wanted to because they were the most popular at the amusement park. But, I hit a growth spurt between trips and we planned to ride all of the big rollercoasters. The one that I was most terrified of at the time was Raging Bull, one of the tallest, fastest, and longest steel coasters in the US. As we started to wait in line for the ride I was shaking with both anticipation and fear and began to rethink my idea to ride the rollercoaster. I decided to stay in line and see what many people thought was a great coaster.
What comes to mind when you hear the word adventure!!? Well there is a place in Florida that is guaranteed to bring out your inner kid every time you visit. This place is known as universal Orlando Florida. This is a place where you can go on vacation and have fun like never before as you did when you were a kid. On my visit to Orlando I stated at a four-star resort located inside the theme park known as Cabana Bay Beach Resort, also went to universal studios and islands of adventure were I felt like I was a kid again.
Every year since I was a freshman in high school my family would all pack into our car and head to Six Flags for my father’s job. This was usually one day I could count on for unexpected entertainment. Each year was a new experience in the making because one year it may be sunny or one year it may rain, but HEY! Its Georgia weather what can you do about it?
The sound of music, filling the air with happiness, resonates throughout the area. The scent of delicious buttery popcorn and glazed turkey legs that go on for miles and miles. The feeling of excitement coming into the place is felt in the atmosphere. It is the image of a once in a lifetime moment. When people come in, their imaginations become reality. The name describes itself perfectly. Walt Disney World is the place of dreams and imagination. People come from all around the world to see the rides, characters, food and the entertainment of Walt Disney World. I remember when I went to Disney World this past March. It was the third time I have gone to Disney World. To see the amazement and the expectation of the
When we awoke the next morning, we got dressed and left the hotel headed towards Six Flags over Houston. My grandfather had bought us some coupons for the entrance fee so it would not cost as much. When we arrived, the air seemed very oppressive. The mood had already set itself to a very depressing day. We walked to the entrance and we found out that the coupons were no good. That did not stop us our parents paid the normal cost. We were finally at Six Flags.
As I walked to school with my lunch that was in a plastic bag. Once we got into school and got in the building my teacher Mr. Williams took attendance and five minutes later we turned around and got on the bus. It was windy and there were leaves blowing all over the place. Last year my 5th grade at John Stewart elementary school was going to Leroy Oakes in St. Charles for team building. It was a fall day and it was chilly. I had my drawstring on my back with my lunch and had three coats on. We turned onto a road called Dean Street and it was bordered by grass. I saw the Leroy Oaks sign, and my bus went over a speed bump that threw my class off balance. After awhile my class off the bus with a skip and a jump in my step. Then I was super excited that our
Being that I was a little kid, I thought I was on my way to heavan. But soon, my representation of an angel turned in to a nurse. “Are you okay? Can you hear me?” I wake up, I say yes to her questions and go to sit up but she stops me and lays me back down. “don’t sit up, im going to get your parents.” I lay there in bed and wait. My mom and dad walk in and they smile, hug and kiss me. The nurse says that im able to go home and in few minutes. Time passes and im on my way home. My family calls to see if im okay and send gifts. I slept the rest of the day. Never again will I, play with a group of kids with a baseball
I had a great time during my vacation in Myrtle Beach. First of all, myrtle beaches were beautiful. I went to Myrtle Beaches on summer 2013 for ten days, and I had a good time with my family. It was always about 90 degrees
We were traveling thought all the beautiful places and cities in the country. During our vacation, one day we stopped at a restaurant in a small town. As we were eating, my 16-year-old cousin said to me hurry up, finish your meal and we’ll go play outside. I was a little boy just turned six years. I was excited to go play outside with my cousin, so I was the first one to finish with my meal.
In the past, I had come to grips that I had bad sleep issue and rarely had a good night rest. Partly, due to my high energy daughter with special needs that also woke frequently and partly because I've suffered with this affliction for my entire life. I came to expect that the hightened worry prior to travel would just be part of who I am,as well. I can write lists so I know I'm not forgetting anything, but ultimately, I'll worry that I'm forgetting something or not leaving the my parents, who usually take care of the kids/pets, with enough info to survive without me.
On that fateful day in March, I was a couple months shy of my third birthday. My family and I lived in New Mexico at the time and were renting a house with an outdoor in-ground pool. The day was beautiful. I was outside with my oldest sister Rachel and my father. Rachel was diligently reading curled up on a bench that sat against the house, and my father was mowing the backyard. My mother and my other sister were in the house. Off to one side of the house there was a group of large bushes. I was playing over there with one of her large cooking pots, off in my own little world. At one point while amusing and en...
It all began when a couple of friends and myself went to Six Flags for some fun right at the beginning of summer. We arrived there early in morning, which was about nine o’clock for us. The birds were chirping and the sun was bright. There was also a hint of dew, making the grass sparkle in the sunlight. The place was packed, people were standing in huge lines waiting to buy their tickets. My friends and I were lucky because we had season passes and just walked right to the front gate and walked in. Naturally there was a security check at the front gate, little did I know that I was going to run into them again in the near future. From there we went straight to the ride “The Mind Eraser.” It was always wise to go to that ride first, because as the day progressed, the line grew longer. Since the ride is only about a minute long, the wait then becomes to long to make the ride worth the wait. As we got on, all of us were a little jumpy. It was the first time being to the amusement park that year, and our stomachs were not immune to the s...
With music blasting, voices singing and talking, it was another typical ride to school with my sister. Because of our belated departure, I went fast, too fast. We started down the first road to our destination. This road is about three miles long and filled with little hills. As we broke the top of one of the small, blind hills in the middle of the right lane was a dead deer. Without any thought, purely by instinct I pulled the wheel of the car to the left and back over to the right. No big deal but I was going fast. The car swerved back to the left, to the right, to the left. Each time I could feel the car scratching the earth with its side. My body jolted with the sporadic movements of the car. The car swerved to the right for the last time. With my eyes sealed tight, I could feel my body float off the seat of the car.
My family and I arrived at the theme park, after being herded like cattle through the parking lot. In the parking garage the voices of children and families echoed off the walls. When we finally got to the gates I could hear the rollercoaster roaring down the tracks off in the distance. As we walked towards the first one we could all feel the sun beating directly down on us. The heat was so thick it was as if we were swimming through it.
