I’m sitting in band playing my trombone, killing it. I go to Portage Central Middle School and I’m currently in 1st hour. The door opens suddenly a girl walks in, she lights the room up the room like the sun. I've never seen her before. Mrs.Flynn announced,”Class this is Daylen, she will be joining us. She plays clarinet so Ashleigh will you show her where her instrument will go.”Mrs. Flynn walks over to her computer doing who knows what. I still can't believe this girl who is a firework is going to be in this school. It's like the school pulled her here. I snap out of my daze and look around, Mrs. Flynn is starting to walk over here. Oh no did I say something out loud? Mrs. Flynn asks “Keith you have a lot of the same classes with Daylen
Sixth grader Jodee enrolled at a private academy and the first few months were without incident. Jodee reveled in having friends and tried to do everything right to stay in good standing. The trouble started when she called her mother to leave the party early. Jodee begged her mother not to tell her what was going on with the twelve-year-olds—but they were all caught in the act. Monday morning at school she found her favorite suede shoes floating in a toilet bowl of urine with a note attached—“Bitch, this is just the beginning.”
I walked in and my stomach made a flip-flop like riding “The Scream” at Six Flags. Everyone was staring at me! With their curios eyes and anxious to know who I was. I froze like ice and felt the heat rise through my face. My parents talked to my teacher, Ms.Piansky. Then my mom whispered “It’s ti...

I was strolling down the hallway, trying to figure out where my class would be, when I bumped into a girl. “Oh goodness! I am so sorry. I wasn 't looking," she said and bent down to grab my file and books even before I could. I sighed and replied, “No, it 's fine." I wiped the sweat, which I had accumulated from walking all over the school, off my forehead. She stood up and handed me my books. I realized she was also a freshman by her orange colored uniform. She flipped her hair and said while grinning," Let me introduce myself. I 'm Natasha. I 'm from Canada so I don 't really know much about this town. How about you?" Even though I had never met her before, I could tell she seemed nice so I introduced myself. I had to make a judgment to decide whether to befriend the girl or not. Little did I know this stranger was
On October 29th Saturday, I participated in a volunteer opportunity with the democratic campaign. The office had more than 20 people, some of them were making phone calls. I received a package with a map, a list of people’s name, address, and other basic information about the person. My duty was knocking those people’s doors and ask them “who are you going to vote?” “Do you have any things that you want to say about the society?” I do not have a car so they assigned me to the place which is located in walking distance from Beloit College. A married couple who were at the office offered me a ride to Campus. Both of them are in their 50’s. They told me that they have a friend who is now teaching at a university in Tokyo, Japan. The lady also had been to Japan in 1980 as a student. Her husband did not talk much.
Even though the teacher told Lilo to stay and wait for her sister to pick her up, Lilo went home and locked herself in the house listening to Elvis “Heart break hotel.” Mr. Bubbles the social worker and I the therapist show up to the house as Nani is trying to get into the house. Hello Nani, says Mr. Bubbles I am the social worker and this is Ms. Kim. We are here for your visit, is there a problem? “No, give me a minute” says Nani as she is getting up from the porch floor with a hammer. Nani runs around back as Mr. Bubbles follows her. Ms. Kim kneels down and peeks through the doggie door to say hello to Lilo. “Hello Lilo my name is Ms. Kim, you like Elvis?” Lilo turns her head as she is laying on the floor in the living room and takes a deep breath and says “yes, he is my model citizen and friend.” “Elvis is a great singer, I enjoy his music as well” says Ms. Kim. “Lilo can we come in with your sister so we can listen with you?” “I guess you can” says Lilo. Nani, who is in the back of the house gets in through a window and invites us in. Mr. Bubbles continues to talk to Nani, while Ms. Kim goes to the living room to sit with Lilo to listen to music. When the music stops, Lilo looks at me and says “I have no friends, they all think I’m weird.” Why do you say that Lilo? “Because they don’t understand me, they
Because your neighbor over there told me that there was some little girls here that always play around in the yard. But when I came here, there was no need for knocking because the door was already wide opened for me. I was certain that little girl came from here when I saw that opened door.” All of us stared at each other and my sister asked who left the door opened. We all shrugged.“Well, if you guys are sure that she didn’t come from here, I better be going. Have a great rest of the day.” After the door had shut, my sister said, “Well, that was a weird way to start our day.” We all just kind of shrugged it off. I just went back to bed but fifteen minutes into my nap, Hannah came up running around the house saying, “Where is
Mrs. Janette was calling the students in alphabetical order. Max was going to be in the middle because his name started with an M. Finally, she got to the middle of the alphabet and she was close to M. Then she called Max and Max went up to get his report card. Mrs. Janette told them to not open them in school. She told them to open them once they got home. Max rode the bus home so he decided to open his report card when he got on the bus just like other kids do.Everybody was lined up when they got their report cards. All of the students were talking about their report card. Max thought he was the most nervous kid in the classroom(he probably was). Once they were going outside to the buses Max remembered that there was an 8th grader who knew how to hack into stuff and how to change. So Max went outside, rode the bus back home but instead of going home, he went to the 8th grader's house because they are best friends and they know where they both live. Max went to his house and told him about his report card. His parents already knew that the reports were going home on Friday so they were excited to see his report card. Max wanted Blake the 8th grader to change hid C’s, D’s, and F’s to straight A’s. “I will try to do that for you, but you will have to owe me back,” said Blake. Max agreed with that and decided to give him $10. Max gave Blake his report card. Max was going to go back home because his parents would’ve been worried if he
Smelling the food that had gone bad in the lockers and students graded paperwork on the ground made him feel like he was at a very crowded school, which seemed about right. On his first day of school, he knew it would take him forever to remember all the locations for his classes. Walking to his second class in the crowded hallways, he meets this short and pretty looking girl. She had a friendly face that would make someone want to talk and joke around with due to her great sense of humor. Her name was Sarrah and the first thing she said was “You seem different.” He looked at her eyes with a humorous face expression, while she busted out with laughter he said: “I do not speak English.” She understood the situation then took the schedule out of his left hand and deeply gazed into it. Although his mind was flooded with questions but he knew that there has to be someone to answer them and there
At the end of All Summer In A Day, after all the kids had fun playing outside, seeing the lemon like sun, they started to realize that they locked margot in the closet. They started to feel selfish and kind of sad for her because they had so much fun, but yeet margot was in the closet. The students started down the hall slowly and quietly. A boy said “should we open it, or just leave it?”. Then they opened it, and realized she was curled up in a ball and
A little girl goes to school for the first time wearing a blue striped t-shirt, blue jean shorts, and a brand new pair of sneakers. She wakes up early, fearful, excited, but mostly giddy. For such a little girl, she is exceptionally intelligent. She is ready to learn and has been asking her Mommy when this day would come for what has felt like a life time in kid years. Her mother did her hair in pigtails for the occasion, her outfit was laid out a week ahead, and her backpack had been packed for weeks. Her first day would have been amazing. Her new teacher asked each student what they wanted to be when they grew up. The girl said, “I want to be a soldier.” She was proud of the soldiers, her Grandpa was a soldier. But something happened, the teacher said, “You can’t do that, pick something else. You’re just a girl.”

When I got to the classroom Haydin was just finishing lunch fixing to lay down and take a nap. I asked her to pick out a book that she would like to read. She said here, but I do not know the words can someone read it. She picked “David goes to school”. Her mom was in the room volunteering, so she was the one that read to her. As her mom read each page Haydin would make comments. On one of the pages David was yelling in the halls Haydin said “I don’t do that”. On another page David had gum. Haydin said “No Gum at school. The next page there was a little girl and a little boy sitting at a desk and Haydin said “That’s a girl and that’s a boy we have a boy named Colten in our classroom”. “He should not do that they are trying to study”. One of the last pages David was drawing on the desk and Haydin said “oh that’s not good he wrote on the
Last Thursday my family decided to go to Allegany High School to Meet the Squad night to watch my niece perform. My niece, Kami, is now fifteen and is a member of the dance team for her school. This is the last year for Allegany High School to be open; they are closing the old school and building a new one before next school year. I went with my mom, my brother, and my girlfriend to watch Kami perform. The whole gym was packed with parents and other relatives, and there we sat right in the middle. The bleachers were packed and people sat so close together just to fit. The entire time my girlfriend and I joked about how we felt awkward being there since we both graduated from Mountain Ridge. At one point my girlfriend whispered in my ear “their
It is my first day actually going to a school at all, so I want to look nice and get there on time. I’m stressing out. What if the kids there hate me? What if they talk about me? What if I show up late to class? I end up arriving at school right on time. As I walk into class I see the girl from across the street at her desk reading book. She hears my footsteps drawing near and looks up to say hey. Instead she says “Hey, I forgot to say my name is Chloe.” “Hi and my name is Kaylee.” We both jump, because we hear a voice coming from the front of the classroom. I sit in the seat closest to Chloe and everyone grabs their notebooks except for me. I don’t know what I’m doing. The rest of the day Chloe has to be late to her classes, because she has to guide me to my next
