Sometimes life is just miserable. It might be because things don’t work out, or plans change, or even just that the weather for the day turns out the exact opposite of what the weather channel claimed. At times like this, it’s hard to stay positive or even consider having a good time. But as a child, I experienced firsthand that even during the gloomiest of times; you can still end up having an amazing experience in the end. It all started when I was four and my family was taking a trip to Disney World in Orlando, Florida. I was seated firmly in my stroller as my family traveled down Main Street USA, the air disgustingly hot and damp around the five of us – which included my mom, my dad, and my older brother and sister, as we were trying to …show more content…
As my mom yanked my hood farther up my damp head, we moved quickly through the pathway. To myself I began to wonder what ride would even remain open during these horrible conditions and how unfair this all was. Slowly, I began to feel very gloomy and disappointed in how the day was turning out. I pouted quietly to myself, thinking about how Disney World was supposed to be a magical place and how apparently TV commercials were actually just big fat liars and couldn’t be …show more content…
I sat on my dad’s shoulders, feeling very curious – I’d never seen a parade before. A few minutes later, my questions were answered. Watching as the floats made their way down the street, my eyes widened in astonishment. I’d never seen so many colors before. All the characters were decked out in bright, vibrant costumes and I waved excitedly along with everybody else; pointing out to my parents who each character was. The floats’ twinkled brightly and the colors were so bold they burned my eyes. That night came to a close with a stunning display of striking colors, glimmering lights, and dancing
This commercial appeals to a vast range of viewers through its emotional appeal, fantasy-like experiences, and it’s strong relations with Disney movies. Turning traditional children’s experiences into magical ones is what Disney strives to do. Connecting the park strongly to the fantasies within Disney movies motivates children to want to visit even more. By sparking kid’s interest, Disney successfully influences the kids to persuade their parents to take them to a park to help their children’s dreams become a reality.
When I think back to my trip to Disney World, the biggest thing I remember isn’t the Mickey Mouse hats, the amazing castle, or the princesses. It was our map with all the bathrooms circled in red. The constant waiting for my mom so I could go ride the spinning teacups or Space Mountain. I used to get angry that my family always had to wait for her, but now I understand. It wasn’t her fault, it was her disease.
It was the summer of 2012 and my family was taking another trip to Six Flags Great America. Earlier that summer we went just for me to be disappointed. At the time I wasn’t 54 inches yet and couldn’t ride any of the rides that I wanted to because they were the most popular at the amusement park. But, I hit a growth spurt between trips and we planned to ride all of the big rollercoasters. The one that I was most terrified of at the time was Raging Bull, one of the tallest, fastest, and longest steel coasters in the US. As we started to wait in line for the ride I was shaking with both anticipation and fear and began to rethink my idea to ride the rollercoaster. I decided to stay in line and see what many people thought was a great coaster.
What comes to mind when you hear the word adventure!!? Well there is a place in Florida that is guaranteed to bring out your inner kid every time you visit. This place is known as universal Orlando Florida. This is a place where you can go on vacation and have fun like never before as you did when you were a kid. On my visit to Orlando I stated at a four-star resort located inside the theme park known as Cabana Bay Beach Resort, also went to universal studios and islands of adventure were I felt like I was a kid again.
As the parade commences, it is evident that the use of mis-en- scène is used to invoke a sense of joyfulness in order to celebrate loved ones that have essentially moved on to a better place. The first key elements from mis-en- scène that create a different experience for each person during the parade are décor and space. Dia de los Muertos is known for its majestic floats that are made with ornaments,
This past summer, my family and I went on a cruise to the Bahamas. We had just docked at the second port, Nassau, and were preparing to exit the gigantic ship named the Carnival Fantasy. Once we got to the city, I noticed it was bustling with people of all different backgrounds and cultures. The roads were narrow and some even hilly. I remember coming to the conclusion that a lot of people in the Bahamas must have road rage what from the blaring car horns I could hear around every corner. My family and I were walking along the sidewalk, glancing into shops as we passed them. The weather was unbearably hot, but growing up in South Carolina allowed my family and I to push onward with our adventure. The sun burn on my back started to pulsate in pain any time the sunlight hit it, so we decided to stick to the side of the buildings that provided shade.
So I was looking forward to this ride just to see my grandma like that. The ride itself was more of a sit and see ride. We sat on a boat, and it would move slowly so we could see all of the little figurines from the different cultures move and dance. As the ride went on, the song “It’s a Small World After All” would play, and I would look at my grandma and she would have this happy face and she would be clapping along to the music. I myself enjoyed the ride because it was meant to be a happy ride, and let me tell you, it was certainly was happy. Those rides were really fun to go on, but they didn’t give that intense feeling that I was looking for. Enter Splash mountain, my personal favorite ride from the Magic Kingdom. This reason this was my favorite ride is that when we went on it, we all got soaked. It was kind of funny listening to my family react to getting wet, especially my grandma because she hates getting wet. Plus when we went down the long slide at the end, my heart felt like it went out of my chest. It was an exhilarating ride, and I had a good time on
Many young children went to the local fair ground. The wagons, horses, tall trees and the sunshine… How magnificent! It was truly a magical day. We wandered about listening to the speeches, as it slowly began to get darker, and darker. All the small children began the grow drowsy, so their parents went back home. My favourite part of the entire day was the fireworks of course! As darkness took over the sky, the wonderful display began, lighting up the sky with it’s beautiful colours. Soon it was sadly
Four years ago we went to Disney World just my family and me, we had so much fun that we decided we would go again in four years. We started planning the next trip almost immediately; we were all so excited to go back. It was not going to be just us this time; my aunt and uncle’s family would be coming with us this time. I remember waiting those four years, and they felt like forever. When it finally came time to start packing (three days in advance) we made sure to prepare for what we did not last time. We had been there before so we knew what we should bring. We packed a bunch of snacks and a bunch of waters. Everything there is so expensive so we tried to cut down on buying extra food. The meal plan that we had gotten with our trip was prepaid
My interpretation of the parade from the perspective of other attenders, who were mainly families who celebrate Christmas is that it’s a Sunday afternoon and Christmas is just around the corner, why not spend some time with each other at the parade as a pre celebration for Christmas and the
Dad tried to give the guard twenty dollars, but he refused. Dad shook his hand and thanked him several times. I could go on and on about the rest of our trip but it would take another twenty pages. Unfortunately this was not the last outburst my father had at Disney World. I can tell you one more thing. Through the chaos Dad finally made it to It’s a Small World with his family. It was the biggest smile he showed through the whole trip, but it wasn’t his last. We have been to Disney World twice since then. We still always ride It’s a Small World and I always bring cotton balls for my ears. The cotton keeps my arms from getting tired.
Last year was my sister’s senior year, as many of you may know, most people take a trip during their senior year typically referred to as a senior trip. In my family, it is a fact that my sister loves Disney, and when I say loves I mean is completely obsessed with it. So, as you may have inferred by now, my sister chose to go to Disney World for her senior trip. Like almost any kid, I was more than excited when I found out I was going to Disney.
Disney’s vision of a “cleaner theme-based park where families could become part of the magical world that his films depicted on screen” slowly became a reality (American Experience). “He created WED, Walter Elias Disney, Enterprises, to oversee all of his ‘imagineering’” (Designing Disney). “Soon after he found 160 acres full of orange groves and Walnut trees in the little town of Anaheim California” (Designing Disney) where his world began to come to life. To receive all the funding needed, he went to ABC studios and took with him the most detailed drawing and plan of this misunderstood idea.
The second I stepped foot onto the amusement park’s property, I could feel the magic swirling all around me. As I walked through the crowds of people young and old wearing Disney apparel and Mickey Mouse ears, everything seemed so enchanting: the cheerful music, the twinkly lights on all of the buildings, and the stores that could have been from my favorite Disney movies. Walking along the streets, I took pictures of everything around me because I did not want to forget a single detail; I took pictures of the vibrant yellow, red, and pink flowers that lined the streets, the buildings with intricate details and designs, and the massive roller coasters that glided so swiftly on their tracks. The air was filled with heavenly scents of sweet churros, and I had to get one; it was delectable. Everything at Disneyland seemed perfect and like it was out of a movie. Even as I was about to leave, I got drawn back in; spectacular, bright, colorful fireworks started bursting right over my head, and I could not bring myself to go. My first visit to Disneyland was truly enchanting and magical. At the time I thought no other vacation could
When I heard my parents talking about going to Disney World I was so excited. It was a long trip down to Florida and I could not sit still, because I was so excited. We finally arrived that evening and decided to stay in a hotel near the theme park. When it was time for bed I could not go to sleep for a long time, because I was so excited about going at Disney world. When I saw the big mirror ball from the entrance, I was amazed. Disney world had a wide variety of rides. There were tons of rides that shocked me. Some of these rides made you feel like you were riding in a jet because of how fast they were. There was even a roller coaster ride in the huge mirror ball. It was a slow ride, but I still liked it because there was air conditioning inside the ball. We spent all day at the park until we had ridden everything. That night Disney World had a firework show. The fireworks seemed like they lasted forever with the amazing colors bursting in the air one right after another. When the firework show finally ended my parents told me that it was time to leave. I was...
