This is the miscellaneous section of my autobiography. I’m going to write about my time at GCA. My experiences at this school were pretty good in my opinion. During 7th and 8th grade at certain times in mostly math the other people in my class would complain about us not learning the stuff that we get worksheets and tests even though they would be loud and disruptive the entire time. At some points this and last year we made our math teacher mad to the point where they threw markers at the floor. I will agree about last year because most of the time the class was loud enough to sort of mask out our teacher and he wouldn’t do much about it and instead just click his radio and put it on that person’s desk as a threat to send them up to the office. Our current math teacher usually overreacts to what is going on and then puts 1 or 2 names on the board. Since it is usually the same group of people talking and rarely anybody else the person who is getting their name on the board will also end up overreacting and claiming that she is biased towards the quieter kids. Our class has made her walk out of the class in anger a couple of times this year. I’ve asked other kids in the school about what she is to their class and one of them said that she despises their class and that they’ve gotten her to cry before. I feel bad for her because I kind of thought that she would be better than last year’s teacher but as soon as our class found out that she overreacts to most people talking they just got worse. As Charles Dixon walked in his office he was thinking about what other fun things he should do to punish the students at good ole Merced High. As you could see Mr. Dixon is the commander, leader, or just as we call it today, a principal. After the war that happen between the students and the staff there as been a lot more strictness to the school rules. Ever since I left this school its basically been more like a public military school. Your probably wondering why I’m not at Merced High School well, I got kicked out. I was walking with my disc man to my class and all electronics must be off when the bells ring infuriately there happen to be a sniper on the west wing of the campus and has soon as the clock struck 8:20, they shot me! Right on my ear. I only didn’t go to the hospital I got kicked out for being tardy and I lost 30% percent of my hearing on my left ear!

As I sat in the boiling hot sun, the heat that had overwhelmed me throughout the day surpassed. I was engulfed by Lu Paul, a native Hawaiian advocate who was telling me the story of how Native Hawaiians loss their rights. “How did my people become a minority in their own land?” he asked me inquisitively. I found myself making many connections with this man’s story and my own. As he answered my questions about inequality in his community, he began to speak of many things that I had witnessed in my life, that I thought only my own culture experienced. “My people need to fight for equal education, language rights, and employment”, he stated firmly. It was in this moment I began to broaden my perspective of inequality and minority rights. This along with the many other field experiences I had during my semester abroad, help shape my desire to attend law school and work both nationally and abroad in civil and human rights.

Before coming to kents hill, I had one view school. It's always been something that I dreaded and something I couldn't wait to be done with. Moving around from school to school never seemed like it was helping and I was falling into a deeper pit each time. After starting at a new high school freshman year, I finally thought that things might change, but that was far from what happened. Every day was unfufulling with school days consisting of crowded classes, drugs, and racism. At the end of every school year, I looked forward to our annual Award 's Day Program. It was the best day ever. Moms and Dads took off work to come watch their kids get rewarded. My mom made Awards Day an even bigger deal; she bought balloons, gifts and pretty much the entire family with her. She was proud, and she had every right to be. During the first session with the client we went over the consent form and I asked them if there were any questions about it, which they had only one to make sure that it was not being show to the entire class, once answered they signed the form. I think that when I make my own form I will have a better understanding of how to explain the reason behind it and also better explain what it is form. In class we mainly had group discusses and I felt she talked a lot and had a very loud opinion about other people 's thoughts and ideas. For example, we were talking about Beyoncé and average black person 's experience with racial relation in the United States. One of the boys in the class said something along the lines of Beyoncé knows nothing about the black experience because she has never suffered, been poor or struggled a day in her life. That when she bluntly said, "who are you to say Beyoncé doesn 't know the black experience!". Once she made those comments towards our male classmate I started to examine attribution, which allowed me to try and identify the causes of the way she acted. In doing so I was trying to gain knowledge of her dispositions. In other words, I was trying to figure out was she acted so harshly towards someone who was simply sharing his opinion (Baron &Branscombre, 2012). I was really taken back by her comment because I felt that the male student had the right to his opinion whether she agreed with it or not. Also, the class got really silence and even the professor didn 't know how to react to that, so we just decided to move on. Because of this I was quick to think she was quite rude and I felt she would be mean as well, therefore I concluded we probably would never be
I went to McKinley Junior High on Tuesday! I didn’t really know what to expect from the school, or what it would be like because I’ve never been inside a public junior high. My school was K-8, so it was big, but it also had more grades than just 6-8th. When I got to McKinley, I was shocked at how big it actually was. I was nervous walking in because it was really big, and I was scared I wasn’t going to be able to find the office. Sure enough it took me a little while to find the office, I was very confused. Once I got into the office, I told the lady at the front test that I was from Coe and she handed me a slip of paper that said 321 and that was it. So, I wondered the halls a little bit looking for the classroom.
I was extra early to class, at lunch I would tell everyone about the books I was reading, and then during recess I would sit and write everything I saw. By the end of the year, I was reading, speaking, and writing English, and I was only getting better. In the summer, I practiced reading, speaking and writing in fear that I’d fall behind, but to my surprise, I worked so hard, I was asked to skip the second grade. My principle told me that my reading and writing levels were so high, I could be taking third-grade classes, but I decided not to. Have you ever had a teacher that made you feel worthless? What about someone who didn’t care about your education? Or even someone who takes pride in failing you? Well I have encountered many teachers who have made me feel this way. It takes a special person to teach kids and care about what they learn and how well they do in you class. I encountered this person my sophomore year of college, she made me want to drop out of school.
It seemed like a normal day when I entered Mrs. A’s AP Language and Composition class, but little did I know that she was going to assign a very important project that was going to take forever. I took my seat and wrote down what was on the board. Then I sat patiently and waited for Mrs. A to come explain what we were doing today. When the tardy bell rang, Mrs. A glided into the room and gave us all a stack of papers. She then proceeded to discuss our upcoming assignment, a memoir. As she explained the very important assignment, I wondered whom I would write about. No one really came to mind to write about and I thought for sure I would never be able to get this thing done on time. I finally decided that I would write in on my mother, Kari Jenson. I knew I would probably put the project off until the very end and do it the weekend before even though it would get on my mom’s nerves. Putting work off was just how I did everything, it worked for me. When I arrived home from school that day, I told mom about the project. I told her I would most likely write it about her and she was overjoyed.
The day of GGU’s open house, I had gotten lost and could not find the school. On top of being lost in San Francisco, it was raining and my umbrella provided no protection. After walking around lost for about 30 minutes, I saw where I had taken the wrong turn and proceeded in the direction of the school. I showed up cold and drenched, but still very excited, and the excitement only grew. Sitting through the Open House’s mock class made me feel as if I was in the right place. Listening to the faculty, alumni and current students talk about their experiences at GGU solidified my choice about wanting to attend the school. And best of all, it seemed that the professors at GGU really pushed their students to find their greatest potential, all while still being their to support them. This was the type of community I wanted to be apart of. Attending Golden Gate University would be an amazing opportunity, and I hope I get the chance to attend and experience it all first hand.
