Sophomore year definitely had a lot of ups and down that will influence my decisions in the future. One of the most influential class I had was English. Especially managing my time. In English, we learned to analyze text in the book and it allowed me to pay more attention to the meaning in the context rather than just reading the words. English class made me think a lot and this honestly the first time I learned numerous lessons. In the past I have always waited to the last minute and procrastinate, but in English the first semester, we wrote a lot of essays that required time. the main reason I would procrastinate is because throughout middle school and freshman year, we hardly had any homework and so I was very lazy and reluctant to do work.
Walking into Walnut Hills High School right now would have anyone thinking the just walked into the middle of a tornado. Everyone you look there are students running in and out of doors, in and out of cars, and most certainly either turning in missing assignments or retaking tests. There is only one way for you to explain all this ciaos, Senior Year, the year that all teens await with so much excitement and ambition and the year that every single hour long study dates pays off. For the class of 2021 this isn’t just their final year at Walnut Hills this is the year that friends separate and head off to their different university to follow their dreams.
My sophomore year of high school was far from ordinary. I was working four days a week part time at a gym, while trying to balance an AP course load, while also, maintaining a student council committee chair seat, and starting a non-profit for domestic violence awareness. This list does not include all of the
It was the drama of junior year, which taught me how to analyze a situation and consider all the variables before I made a big decision. It was the academic obstacles of junior year which boosted my ability to excel in my studies and display my educational potential.... ... middle of paper ... ... Even though I lost so much during junior year, I was unaware of the fact that secretly I was actually gaining a great deal of life experiences and real-life lessons for the future.
I was told that this, my junior year, would be the easiest year of my high school career. And no, they were absolutely wrong. It was not just school and grades that I was concern about either. I had other things to worry about, things like, driving, clubs, friends and family. I however had no idea that it would be this difficult. Throughout this school year I have learned many things; like the value of sleep, whose really your friend, and that although very important, grades are not everything.
One of the biggest struggles in my junior year was my AP US History class. The workload in that class, combined with the rigorous schedule of other AP and IB courses, plus sports, and the occasional meetings of the debate team made it a real challenge to follow my passion.
He we go. Just me and myself now. I can write whatever I want and Mrs. Wesbecher can’t read it. To this point I have wrote about a lot of fun things I have done throughout high school, but that was just the PG version. Sophomore year is when things really began to heat up. One day over at Alex’s we found the key to his parents liquor cabinet. We did exactly what 15 year old guys would do, took some sips and wow did we think we were badasses. Looking back opening the cabinet taking a few sips and locking it back up really quick was quite comical. One night during Sophomore year it was Alex, Cal, and I, Alex drank a lot and we started to walk around town (no license yet). We walked around town for a long time with Alex’s sloppy ass. After a while
High school is meant to be the time of your life, but for most seniors just like me it can be some of the most emotional and crazy time. The things in my past make me who I am today, and the things I do now are the first footsteps into the future. I’ve learned a lot about myself in these past four years, and I still have so much learning to do. This is my high school story; the good, bad, and the ugly.
Sophomore year was an easy going year compared to my other years before and after. Sophomore year was a year where I thought of my dreams and future. Even though I haven’t participated in any school clubs, I still felt fulfilled. Sophomore year was a year filled with new challenges.
As a sophomore I have grown more as a student and a global citizen this second semester. I have gained more knowledge and have investigated the world even more than before. I have gained more knowledge in Science, but specifically more in Environmental Science. In Environmental Scince I was able to go on a cruise and do a hands on experiment that had to do with the marine ecosystem. This year I have also been able to investigate the world, more in AP European history and have learned about the Holocaust and how it all led up to it.
My High School life has helped shape the way for my college experiences that I will face. My senior year in high school is not the same as many other high school students. I am taking many advanced classes to help me prepare for college. These classes help me better understand exactly how much harder I must work to succeed.
I’ll never forget during my sophomore year listening to all the juniors complain about physics, and how extremely hard and life-ruining it was. We, sophomores, worried and dreaded the day we would have to face that class. I have always been an A student who is very hardworking and self-driven but when I saw even the smartest of the smartest juniors struggling with their homework, I became distressed.
I learn that each opportunity presented in front of you, is what you make of it, and to never take it for granted. Sophomore year may be the forgotten year of high school, but I sure made it a year to never
Everyone has people in their lives that will stay with them forever. There are also people who will only be in your life for a short amount of time. Even though you can’t choose your family, you can choose your friends. Every day you have a choice to either keep friends around, or to cut them out of your life forever. This is the exact choice I had to make with not only one friend, but five of my friends.
Usually for others their junior year is the hardest but for me it wasn’t. My junior year seemed like the easiest out of all the years I have been in school. To me, my junior year wasn’t hard for me I catched on to things pretty fast. I had a lot of successes but also there were some challenges as well for me. One of the successes was learning to improve my writing to get better to type essays.
The next two years went by relatively quick, I don’t really remember much. I do however remember two teachers that helped me get through my sophomore year. One teacher that made a lasting impact was my History teacher Mr. Duarte...
