My Ridgeview Middle School is thinking about making the school hours longer. I completely disagree about this because I believe it's a little too hard any ways with the time, but now there's upgrading the time and making harder on everyone else.If the schools are making the hours longer then sometimes people need to just stick with what they got and be thankful for what they have because it might be over soon.
First, there are many reasons why students does not want to go to school, but it not only students, it could be teacher or social worker that work there or just a substitute that might not be there long. Any way it go, it's always going to take up other people's time and money. I usually want to go to school, but I do have other
Ask yourself, how was your 8th grade year… Was it good, bad, fun, or stressful? Well most of my 8th grade year was bad but the ending actually turned out good. The start of my year was exciting, but that was just the beginning. As time went on and the work started to come in, that's when things turned south for me. I started stressing about everything I had to do, I was getting to overwhelmed. I would catch myself slipping constantly and it was worrying me because I didn't want to get held back a year. I slowly started to lose all interest in all of my work.
Students often are involved in after school activities which, between school and the activities they hardly have any time to do homework and study. The article “Highschool Pressure” by Rachel D. states “We result to quickly completing homework and we do not receive any educational value from it. Also, we may not have any time to study at all, which would result in a failing grade.” Second, students are pressured which can cause students to lose focus in class. The article “Highschool Pressure” also states “long school hours puts much pressure on students. We may tend to slack off which could be harmful for their education in the long run.” Third, since all classes usually take a while to start it would not harm the students learning by taking a couple of minutes off of each class. Another statement in “Highschool Pressure” is “by cutting time out of the school day, the students education level would not be hurt. The students would be able to retain the same information within an hour or half an hour.” A shortened school schedule would improve learning by giving them more time to study and complete
Because of adolescence, they may think that school is “nothing”, it is just a waste of time. Also, facts have been saying that more and more students are being independent related to the school. A good reason that they are independent is that they want to have their own money. However, when we don’t know how to say no and face whatever problems may cause, we often use to drop out of college to avoid difficulties.
Summing up, all students should stay in school no matter how hard things get. Education is free now, and everybody should take an advantage of it. Students dropping out will only make your life harder and difficult. As you can see this everything you could possibly know about student dropouts.

Students can be unwilling to attend school for many reasons. “Poor socio-economic backgrounds or belonging to an ethnic minority can all be obstacles to enjoying and profiting from education. When a child needs are not met they are less likely to profit from education.” (OECD, 2012) As educators it is vital we cater for the needs of all students in order to maintain a diverse classroom environment.
Oh the alarm clock is ringing time to go to school. For some high school students getting enough rest is a challenge. Seattle schools are pushing their start times back to 8:45 a.m instead of 8:00. To me this shouldn’t happen. I believe that school should start at the regular time and not make the tenns slack off and sleep in. It is the teens own fault they aren’t getting enough rest. Parents should limit their kids from being out so late on school nights. The late school start would also move after school practices like football, to a later time. If the goal is trying to get kids rest it still would be a late night for the teens.
Schools are so much a part of our society, so the accurate length of school days is extremely important. Public opinions on the length of the school days are different. There are a lot of parents and professors concerned that it is hard for children to go to school early in the morning and stay there the whole day. On the other side, some professors try to force students into a nine hour school day. Not so many years ago, school was a main part of my life, and the school days’ structure and length affected my social life and ability to study. From my own experience and some studies that I have seen, students benefit if school days are long.
The school board plans to add one and a half hours to school each day. I disagree with this decision because it’s cutting into dinner time with families , our little siblings need help getting into the house, and it will cut our sleep time down for school in the morning .
The school board plans to add one and a half hours to school each day . I strongly disagree about the school board adding a hour and 30 minutes to school hours .
I understand that school is a good thing and it gives us the knowledge that we need to secure a good education but drilling it into us and not getting enough time to decompress is not good for us either. We all need time with our friends, socializing with others. Socializing also teaches us how to deal with others that we may not get along with. Those that play sports would not have enough time to practice. Some people may think that sports are not important but i disagree because it teaches us that we may not always win and that the only way to get any better is to practice it also teaches us about having good sportsmanship. If they extended the hours we would not have as much time with our families. People’s family lives are already suffering from not spending enough time together and we will suffer more if they extend the
I do not think school should be longer, I think it is fine how it is. It has enough hours and kids learn about how much they should be learning. It is about 6 ½ hours of school.
Thus causing students’ grades to deteriorate. Only 28% of students support the idea of extending the school day. Students are the reason why the idea was created, but if they do not want it then it does not make any sense. Extending school hours not only makes students tired but it also takes away from their outside
Schools need to be improved, but extending the school day is not the answer. First, schools should find a way to make improvements with the amount of time they already have. It’s not about the extended school hours it’s about what you do with the time you have in a normal day. Schools should maximize the time they already have in a normal school day.
Students have a lot of laborious tasks during their school career. The hours for schools in the United States are only increasing. Why not a change? It could benefit students and the school's financial system and parents or guardians it definitely weighs out the cons. There are pros towards the financial system for shorter hours are the school to save money for necessities and parents and guardians can pay less for child care.
