It took me eighteen years to come to the realization that my mother influence molded me into the young woman I am today. My mother, Verlisher Jones is a forty-four-year-old hard working woman. But through it all, she still remains strong enough to continue to care for those she loved. My grandmother was my mother’s role model she was the one who had an influence on my mom. ...caring single parent. She became a single mother after my dad left our family, and after that, she started caring more about us. My mother cares for me, my sister, and my pets. My pets consist of three dogs, a variety of parakeets, two parrots, and a snake. Even when I ignore my pets my mom always feeds them, which are her instincts to nurture. My mom also cares for our health. For instance, she started changing her grocery shopping habits because we were diagnosed of over-weight. We are a typical Mexican family who used to eat “chorizo”, a pork sausage which is extremely unhealthy. My mother not only stopped serving us unhealthy dishes, but she also adapted to a healthier lifestyle with the help of Cooking Light magazines. All of which, supports that mothers care for their children, small animals, and want to create bonding families due to their maternal instincts.
My mother is a single mother to my little brother and although she works really hard, she manages to help my brother out with his homework in the evenings while she makes dinner and she assures that his homework is all complete. She manages to walk him to school every day, pick him up whenever she cans, and ask how his day was. Lastly, she manages to encourage him and support him in anything he wants to be.
My mom is also very loving. She loves all the clients she works with. She comes home everyday and tells us stories about them. She sometimes will even buy gifts for them. She also loves her family a lot. She comes home everyday after work and does so much for us. She doesn’t ever complain. She doesn’t like cleaning but she does it because she loves us. She also spends countless hours at football games, basketball games, and softball games to support us. She also makes sure to stop in our rooms about every ten minutes to make sure we are doing okay. She will do almost anything I ask her just because she loves me.
Before my mother remarried, times were difficult she was raising three children without financial support from my father. When I realized what a challenge she was facing, I did my best to help by taking small jobs. About the time, I turned thirteen I started delivering newspapers for the Dallas Times Herald. I guess
Though she was busy as ever supporting my brother and I, every time we had an event that was big to us, she would do all she could to show up and support us for them. During high school my brother and I were in sports and other things that were important to us, we had very busy schedules. My mother was always there for us, even if she just worked 60 plus hours the week before. One time in high school I was doing the event called solo and ensemble with my solo on the flute.
My mother is the biggest inspiration and driving force that motivates me to keep moving toward my dream and that has influenced my career decision. My family and I moved to United States in August 2005. Within six months, my mother started working at a job that paid no more than $5.25 an hour. At the time, we lived with a few of our relatives because there wasn't enough money in the paycheck to live on our own. However a year later, my mother started a second job, and now we were able to get a small apartment of our own. My mother
My mother was a strong woman because she raised four girls mostly on her own. My father was hardly around, and I would only see him on the weekends My mother also worked extremely hard to support my three sisters and I. She would have to make sure everyone was ready for school in the morning, then she would catch the bus to work. My mother worked long hours, then come home and take care of us, cooked dinner, and cleaned the house, and she occasionally babysit other children. Today, I find myself doing the same thing such as babysitting my grandchildren, doing things to keep up the house, and keeping up with my
Raised by a single mother of two, I came to realize how difficult it was for her to provide for my sister and me. Despite struggles, my mother always worked hard and never complained. My mom was the most important figure in my life, and because of her devotion, I aspire to make
I come from a single parent household, where it’s just my mother and I with no siblings. My mother has always been a major influence and my life. Her advice was always correct but I took it for granted. I was just a stubborn little boy, wanting to do whatever I felt without anybody telling me what to do. In life, you will learn many things from gaining advice to being taught life lessons that will help you out in the future. Often, older people will tell you stories about their experiences and what they have learned. It is important that you listen to them because they have been through it all and they are just trying to teach you how to overcome the many obstacles that they did. There will be many lessons learned in a lifetime, from spoken
Also, she has always been a good friend to me and I will never stop thanking my mother for what she represents in my life. Moreover, I am glad that my mother is my role model because without her in that place I don’t know for sure if the person I would have followed would be as good as she is in fulfilling this task. A good role model is what everyone should have
Her upbringing was totally different, but she made sure to never be that way with me or my brother. Even though my mother is a wonderful person, the way she has disciplined never fails to work the right way. Such as putting all electronics away and just have mother daughter time, no matter what she always gives the needed attention. Also Edith encourages me to make the right decisions without trying to force anything. My mom has always set boundaries and limits, making sure my brother and I do not misbehave. She does use a tone of voice that tells me to just listen and not argue. Her way of telling me I should not waste time doing certain things is very effective. She explains to me by saying certain things leads to no good and that it can ruin one’s life slowly. Especially when she tells me all she has done being in this country for over ten years, being away from what she grew up including not seeing her brother who is still is in Bolivia. But she is here still pushing and moving forward to give her kids a better life. Listening to her story makes me always push myself and do the right things because I could never disappoint her or even fail her in any
My mother is a loving and caring woman because she helped every person in need that she came across, even if it was an inconvenience to her. Such inconveniences would consist of giving anything to others when she had very little to give, giving someone a ride that she didn’t know, helping others when she did not have time, and much more. As an example, once I accompanied her to church and I witnessed her give one thousand dollars to the church as an offering when she didn’t have much money. We had to skip our morning coffee for a while to make up for the money that was spent that
When people talk about their mothers they always seem to say, “I want to be just like my mom when I grow up.” However, at seven years old my mother told me, “Don’t be like me, but be better than me,” I took that and ran with it. She is a person who has made such a significant influence in my life. She is not only my mother, but also a friend who is always there to advise and guide me to right path. Growing up I had plenty of friends, yet growing up I also lost plenty of them. The only one that hasn’t left my side and I know is always going to be there for me is my loving mother.
Without a doubt, I can say that compassion is what best defines my mother. She is always ethical and genuinely concerned for the welfare of others. She always encourages people that are in difficult situations. But the question is who encourages her when she 's in difficult situations? It 's just incredible how she manages to stand firm, even though she might be wanting to fall apart. In the day of December 19, 2014, everything went downhill. My little brother had caught the flu. My mother went ahead and bought some regular medicine for him. We thought everything was going to be alright since it was just the flu. We were greatly mistaken. My brother only seemed to be getting worse. We were a few days away from Christmas when this happened. We had so many plans so many expectations for the holidays. Unfortunately, things went south for us. We took my brother to the hospital to get him checked because his condition wasn’t improving. After an hour or two of sitting in the waiting room, the doctor came out and said that he was in a grave condition and needed to get transported immediately to San Antonio. At the time my mother 's expression showed sadness. My brother was to be transported by an emergency helicopter. One of my parents had to go with him. My father instantly stepped up and said he was going. My mother accepted and said to him that we would follow him in the car. My dad and brother departed from the
She has always been there for me. Always since I was born. I mean that is a role of a typical mother right? Well for my mom it has been. Even when my father took me away from her when I was 6. My whole life changed...for the worst. All she could do was call me and tell me how much she loved me. Guess what I gave her in return. A cold shoulder and never once tried to talk to her. If I did say something it was “I hate you” and hung up. How could a child hate her own mother so much? To be honest, I didn’t hate her I didn’t even know her, but I felt like if I told my mom I wanted to know her. The real her, and not the lies about her that my family told me. Then maybe, just maybe I could
