In the year 2015, 15 years old, I am sitting down on my couch playing FIFA. I love and treasure FIFA. FIFA is a virtual soccer video game with top of the line game play, graphics, and producers. FIFA is almost like a best friend: one second you will be aggravated or irritated because of a dreadful play, but the following moment they pull through for you and support you, just like a best friend. I would rather be playing FIFA or be with my best friend than anything else in the world, no matter what. FIFA is one of a kind, just like a best friend. My best friend and I share the passion for soccer, we both play soccer, we watch soccer and we play FIFA together. We have been best friends ever since first grade; we have grown up together
on and off the field. We have been there for each other whenever we needed a significant person to talk to. Best friends are always there for you no matter what until the end of time. They don’t care about what other people think, they stand up for you and they always have your back. You may get upset at them, you possibly will want to beat them, and you might want to let your frustration out on them, but in the end you still want and couldn’t do with them. Best friends don’t come around all the time and are difficult to come by, significant people in your life are easier said than done, so I am thankful and grateful for mine, and appreciate mine while I can.
Over the years, soccer has changed me as a person. I love thinking back at the great memories I had playing soccer. I plan to never stop playing soccer. Hopefully, I will play on the club team at Shippensburg and never give it up. This was one of my most memorable moments in my life playing soccer. Through soccer I made friends, learned how to be a team player and helped me bring my family closer together. If it wasn’t for soccer I wouldn’t be who I am today and I am very grateful for this.
While I have developed my soccer skills over the years, the relationships I have built with people are treasured more than my ability to play the game. Playing soccer has granted me the opportunity to be surrounded by an extensive family of people who truly love me. I am forever indebted to the sport for bringing me into love-filled relationships with players and coaches alike.
One incident that happened to me that change how I thought about sports was when I first started playing soccer. It all started when my mom said that I should join a sport to get me more active. It took me awhile to choose soccer at first because there were so many sports to choose from. I told my mom I wanted to play soccer. She signed me up to play for a non competitive league (GYSA) so I can learn the basics of the sport. She also told me to play I would have to maintain good grades. After hearing that i always tried my best in soccer and school.
No other country can compare to the great nation of Brazil when it comes to the beautiful game of soccer. Since their entrance as full member of FIFA, or Fédération Internationale de Football Association, in 1923, the country of Brazil has accounted for numerous trophies as well as individual awards for its players (“Brazil”). Brazilian futebol, or soccer, has reached international stardom because of its history consisting of ground breaking teams, revolutionary players, and winning performances in competitive tournaments.
Growing up in El Salvador, soccer was a sport that significantly impacted my childhood. My cousins and uncles taught me how to play soccer, as well as various techniques that would later benefit me on the soccer field. At the age of seven I started to play for one of most well-known soccer clubs in El Salvador. Practicing twenty three hours a week was really paying off, as I could see in my medal and trophy gain. Not only did they represent my accomplishments, but they also gave joy to my teammates, community, and family because they were the people who encouraged me to give my best. Playing soccer was also a way to release stress because when my family was going through hardships, it was easier for me to let all of my negative energy on the
I've recently came to the realization that plying full time soccer from when I was 5 years old to now has put a toll on my body.
As the Nike football spun through the air on a breezy fall day, all I could hear was “catch it with your eyes”. At 3 years old I could not understand what my dad actually meant when he said that.
As I was growing up I always had a personal goal to play sports. My parents never had the extra money for it though. Despite the lack of money, it never stopped me from trying to pursue my goal. One year, when I was in the 7th grade the answer was finally yes! The joy I felt when I heard that three letter word was the same joy of opening presents on Christmas morning. The road to my goal was beginning to become visible.
From the early ages in history to the present day, sports have always been an important part of society. It teaches discipline, how to be a team player, how to interact with others and is a good source of physical activity. In specific, football utilizes all of these aspects of sports and it’s a great source of teaching self-restraint and perseverance. Some may say that football is a violent sport or it’s not beneficial in any way, but in reality it gives a person the basic tools needed not only for playing the game, but also how you interact with people in society.
The amazing game of soccer is played in every continent, and is the world’s most popular sport. It is proven to be one of the number one sports to be played and watched. Because its fans and players are so devoted, the sport continues to grow. Requiring only a ball and open space, the activity is available to anyone, whether rich or poor, male or female, athletic or not. Over the years, soccer has won the hearts of many because of its unique history, many benefits, and notable achievements.
When I hear the word “Football,” I think about the violence, the adrenaline when you watch all those players either getting tackled, or getting a touchdown for their team, but I never came to think about it affecting my future, making this huge decision over lettering my son or daughter play football. If I were to ever have any children, I believe that I would let them play, but knowing that being a mother means caring for your son or daughter's health, and knowing if they are safe is a priority, by allowing my son or daughter to play “America's Obsession,” not only am I preventing them from gaining any skills out of the sport, but I am damaging something that could have been his/her future, and just maybe not ever seeing them again.
It's getting late. Around 11:30PM. I know I should be getting to bed soon; I have to get up at 8:00AM to get ready for class. But, I figure I'll just pop FIFA 2004 into my PC and play for a little bit. Just to get past the next section. I'll save at the next save point, turn it off, and go to sleep. Video games are one of my favorite pastimes. I enjoy playing any kind of video game as long as it’s fun and has an interesting concept.
Futbol or Football Games and sports are found in early human history and appear to be culturally universal. Moreover, sports are and have been a critical part of the culture around the world. Sports bring communities together; anyone who has participated in sports as an athlete or as a spectator has experienced emotional highs and lows depending on what is going on in the game, and each person feels a connection to the team. In addition, both athletes and spectators become passionate about the sport they love. They will rearrange their schedule to not miss a game.
“Football, which is also known as Soccer is probably world’s most popular sports, played in practically every nation at varying levels of competence. Football may be played competitively or for fun, as a career, a means of keeping fit or simply a recreational pursuit” (Vivani, et al 1993). Soccer is the most popular sport in the world because it is performed by the man and women, children and adults with deferent level of expertise. The popularity of the game is reflected in the millions who participate in Soccer in lower level of play. Soccer is now being played in more than 210 countries throughout the world.
Finally, we have reached the age to play sports, but what sport would be the best? Many kids turn to baseball and football because these are America’s past time sport, but there is always a select few that choose soccer. Why, because their parents force them to play. Soccer, in a parents point of view, is seen as a safe exercise sport, you can make friends and most important, get outside. At such a young age, kids have never been the best at following directions, which leads to chaos on the field. Kids swarm around the ball wishing for the chance to kick the ball a couple of times. In all truth, “Kids don't grow up wanting to watch tag on TV, or be a professional tag player, and that's really how most kids who play it view soccer. It's fun, its outdoors and it involves running around, but that's about it” (Emen). Besides the fact of parents forcing soccer down the kids throat, they get the image that soccer will forever be a disorganized sport, which in all truth can be at some points. The main reason for this is because in America, we were never taught how to play s...
