The waves of heat that shot out of the turf blurred my vision of the field. The referee called the neon yellow team to the center of the field to start the game. The fans adjusted their bodies in their portable chairs, making a sound in unison. As the whistle blew, the sunset colored Nike soccer ball was pushed all over the neon yellow team’s side of the field. The neon yellow team’s jersey’s were flickering up and down with their bodies as they brilliantly exchanged the ball between each other. Their chemistry seemed almost automatic, moving fluidly as of watching a video game. However, as the sun continued to beat down on them, fatigue clearly seeped into their bodies, because their passes became slower and less accurate. Eventually, the ball landed at the feet of a particular player. …show more content…
With his arms stuck out and forward, he calmly received the ball, and as his neon yellow shorts moved with his robotic-like legs, the number two on his right thigh moved as well. The number expanded as he threw his leg back, preparing to kick the ball. As he flung his leg through the ball to pass it, the number kept shrinking until it was not possible to read. As soon as he scooted the ball to his teammate, a maroon blur became apparent in between the two players. A member of the opposing team stuck his foot out and snagged the ball. He stopped the ball with so much grace, that one would think the ball was tied to the player’s foot! He bumped the ball to his dominant foot, and then delivered it to his teammate near the

his teammates push mightily against the opposition. His arms are locked over his teammates' shoulders, all of their heads down. The two teams are pushing against each other like two moose fighting over territory. He looks down to see the ball, sitting just in front of his feet. Fresno, California Easterby Elementary School , recess time, and the day of “The Kickball War”. The time was a quarter till noon, teacher still teaching, as every student begins to pace their feet up and down from sitting in their seats with such excitement. As I stared straight at the clock waiting too see the long hand line up within the short hand to strike 12:00pm, Tj tap my shoulder pointing out the window nodding his head while leaning toward the basket with all the sports and recess equipment. I knew for a fact what that meant, so I occasionally gave him a huge smile and nodded my head back at him, while slowly moving my lips to say the words “Kick ball”. Seeing how the time was near to head out, shortly, and without any hesitation Tj tied his shoes to prepare to dash right out the door! I felt my heart racing with such

Although both sport are known famously around the globe, for many years fans from both sides are known for asking, is American football same as soccer? What’s the time limit on both sports? In conclusion, football and soccer have their similarities, but these similarities are superficial. There are many fundamental differences, such as the use of one’s hands being illegal in soccer, except for the goalie when he/she is inside his/her respective eighteen-yard boundary. Another example is the alternation of a team’s offense and defense in football as opposed to the simultaneous effort of the offense and defense in soccer. These differences in rules, rituals, and concepts distinguish these two sports from each other. Also, the area where one scores is in the same locations in both sports, the end zones of football and the goals of soccer are on opposite sides of the field.
