Before I started BMXing I was really struggling in school. But then i got my first BMX. I rode that bike all day everyday. Before I got it, I was just doing stuff I wasn’t supposed to do and getting in all kinds of trouble. Then when I got my bike, I started hanging out with better friends and getting better grades. These friends teach me in and out of school. One of them was Saul who taught me how to do stunts on my bike. In school he sat next to me and showed me how to do the work. I met them in 8th grade first hour when we sat next to each other and eventually started talking. I found out they were my best friends. We had all the same connections. Besides biking, we like to travel places, don’t like homework, same sense of humor, and are risk takers. Almost every day of middle school me and Saul would ride our bikes home after school and go ride another 5 miles. Then I ride home with is 3 miles home from school. When i get home I just fall asleep after a total of 13 miles …show more content…
day after day. There was a lot of struggles I went though to get where I am today.
This is why I chose the topic on Where I struggle. We ride at least 5 miles a day. We carry at least 10 pounds worth of stuff in our backpacks including bike locks, tools, food, water bottles and much more. Saul taught me how to bunny hop , jump, and how to do moto whip. Saul is learning how to do a backflip right now maybe he can teach me too. Why do we do this kind of stuff? We do these stunts to get better and one day we can get a sponsor. I choose to to BMX a lot because to me it's fun and it's faster to travel places. I also like to spend quality time with my friends. Where I started to struggle the most looking for the most at is hitting the jump correctly. Sometimes I'll put much weight on the front of my bike when i'm in the air when I first started doing stunts on my BMX. I resolved that by learning from my friend and practice and lots of it. Because what we do we can seriously get hurt doing the things we
do. In the future I want to be a better BMX biker and just like loose the fear that I have when I do stuff such as hit jumps, doing a stunt in mid air, etc. In the future I want to go ride my bike in the mountains with the fresh smell of nature the open views the animals we could see. I Just love to go in the mountains. It's my favorite place to be. If I could live there I would. I think the mountains is a beautiful place to be. I also go camping alot with my family.
Most of the time I ride is when I race. I Don’t mean in races I mean with my uncle and dad. I really hope I can get better at riding. One day my friend zander and me are going the ramps.
Owning exercise equipment is a good way to stay motivated and ensure you work out every day. While you may be tempted to buy the biggest and best exercise bike, you will need to consider your living space. If you don’t have enough room, the bike won’t fit properly, and you won’t be able to use it. There are compact bikes available that fit in smaller rooms, and allow you to get proper exercise. If you’re unsure about where to start looking for a compact exercise bike, this review should help get you started. After all, not having enough space is a terrible excuse for not exercising.
Four wheeling has been one of my family’s favorite activities for my whole life. Both of my parents even grew up riding. They kept the tradition of riding in our family by giving me my first four wheeler when I was five years old. I would take it on miniature trail rides until it eventually gave out and I had to hop on with my parents. We have continued that tradition by going on many four wheeling trips every summer.
The last thing I wanted to learn about was jumping. This skill would be hardest but it would be crucial if I wanted to be an adventurous rider. It was very hard at first, by which I mean I would get air but crash. When I got the hang of it it was awesome it felt so great to be flying, or at least that’s what it felt like. By the end of my tenth year on this planet I was totally ready for a bigger four wheeler. Actually a four wheeler that would be twice as big as my current one at the time. So, I got a Suzuki ltz four hundred, this four wheeler was incredible I loved it a bunch. The first time I rode it I was being typical adventurous me and rolled it. That hurt pretty bad and I didn’t really want to ride anymore that day but I realized that stuff happens and if I’m still alive I’m going to keep on trucking. So, I learned all of the previous skills that I had on my old bike except this time I was much faster and way better. I was able to drag race and beat fifty percent or more of people but most of the time I’d win more. But then came winter time, I hated riding in the cold so I didn’t ride for a long time because it was a long winter. So, I also lost a lot of my
Naturally, I faced the competition of other gymnasts, however, meets were not where my most valuable lessons were learned. The impact was greater in times I wanted to quit, and didn’t. For instance, my flyway, a skill I acquired as a child, became impossible for me to execute as a teenager. Each time I attempted to perform it, I froze, fear lingering in my mind. Frustrated, I contemplated abandoning my passion, yet, due to my persistence, I overcame the obstacle. I found quitting would never provide me the satisfaction I hungered for. Gymnastics also challenged my body. I suffered more injuries than the average gymnast with broken feet, fingers, toes, and elbows, a concussion, and two stress fractures in two years. My final injury, a torn labrum, resulted in hip surgery, six months of physical therapy, and the death of my college gymnastics dream. Through disaster emerged strength to cope with every roadblock I encounter. All of my life I had worked towards that goal, and with the lift of a scalpel, it was shattered. Thankfully, the qualities gymnastics has given me has transferred to every aspect of my life including my academic career. I have put in just as much effort in the classroom as I have in the
As a barrel racer, I have gone to a lot of shows and rodeos with my pony. My pony was diagnosed with moon blindness, caused from a bacteria called, leptospirosis, that got into his eyes. As he starts going blind he relies more on me, especially with barrel racing because he has to watch out for the barrels so he can turn tighter and not tip them over, but he can not do that because it is very hard for him to see.
After my birthday weekend, my family and I, all went to Harbor Island for a week or so. It was the family tradition to usually go there on my birthday, but this year we went the week after, so that meant no skating for me for awhile. I always go out to eat the Saturday after my birthday once I get back from the beach, but that year I went to the beach early the Saturday after my birthday till the next Sunday, and then out to eat the Saturday after we got back. That meant three Saturdays of no skating. BUt back to the real story, after all my friends were done coming up to me, I was ready to go skate. I noticed the floor was really shiny but I now had forgotten about my new slick skates that I had gotten at my birthday party the week before. I went out on the floor, made a few laps around and then one of my favorite songs came on. I looked around for my brother and his friends, but they were nowhere to be found, so I just started doing my own thing. I started swaying my skates in and out of each other, where the wheels would touch. By this time I wasn’t looking down at my feet anymore, and somebody I really liked walked in the door and It caught my attention. You know the puppy love, the guy who you fall head over heels for when you’re ten years old. Well that was him, he was older and my brother said I wasn't allowed to have a
I've been working all week and i wanna do something fun. I wake up and sit on the couch and watch tv. It's so boring and i have nothing to do. I get a call from my friend. He asks if i want to go riding and maybe hangout at his house for a bit. I tell him yeah i have nothing to do, let me ask my dad. I ask my dad and he said sure but he didn't want me to go. So i told my friend, Kyler, come to my house and well go ride. He gets to my house and we get ripping.
Our friendship was not the strongest, but it began seven years ago when I first began attending middle school. William lived less than ten houses away from me so I would see him and his posse riding bikes down the street as well as the wash behind our neighborhood. One day, after seeing Will and his friends riding bikes in the mesa, by our school, they showed up at my front door wondering if I wanted to ride bikes with them, it
Long ago there were these two kids around 14 and 15, they were freshman in high school. They grew up with each other since they were babies, even in the same neighborhood, so they’ve alway been friends. Her name is Julia, and his name is Jaxon, they told each other everything and did so much with each other, so they’re like best friends. Their freshman year things changed for them, but they were still best friends. They got really close.
The Tuesday of Thanksgiving break my sophomore year my best friends Cassandra Johnson a.k.a. Cass and Emilie Oesterle a.k.a. Half O and I all had one crazy night. It started out leaving SJA and heading to Emilie’s to get her some clothes then to Cass’s. We all changed out of our school uniforms and into casual clothes. After changing we went on Cass’s porch and started smoking weed. All three of us flirted with these senior guys, Thompson Hinman, Jimmy Partel, and Alex Sarrirs. These guys were always together, they were best friends. Each of us had “our” guy. Meaning we each preferred one guy over the other. Cass had Thompson, Emilie had Jimmy and I had Alex. With these guys we’d flirt and send them sexy pics, etc. etc. I can’t remember eating
Michelle Obama once stated, “Just try new things. Don't be afraid. Step out of your comfort zones and soar, all right?” As a kid this meant a lot to me and helped boost my confidence to do more and not be afraid of the unknown. My greatest fear had always been to ride a dirtbike.
The day was overcast, which made the coaches and runners nervous. This was our final race of the season, and although there was regionals for the older, faster members of our team, this was the last time we would be competing. People were breaking off of the group at intervals, going to the races they had been signed up for. There were periods when there were only a few sitting in our section and others when there were many sitting with us. Although we were sitting there was a lot of energy, not only coming from us, but also from the other teams surrounding us. Everyone was screaming, cheering on the runners that were representing our school, and when they were anywhere near close to the first runner we were up on our feet, clapping and cheering them on.
object. He added the seat and the pedals. Last so that I would not have any
I had never cried or not wanted to go to school. In the beginning, I was very shy and used to whisper everything in the teacher’s (Rosa) ears. I was very particular about keeping my footwear clean, while polishing shoes, I polished underneath too. My friends were artistic and were interested in art and music. In middle school, I had an amazing teacher. She was very friendly and helpful to all of us. My friends were really fun to hang out with and we clicked since the beginning. They shared the same interests with me like reading books, dancing, writing, etc. We used to bunk our art classes and play games in the class. I still talk to most of them, thanks to technology. The school once took us on a 5-day camping trip nearby and it was the best part of middle school. I loved the time spent with my friends, we shared so many secrets with each other. My favorite memory is when they took us to a beach. None of us had beach clothes so we all went into the water in our school uniforms. It was an amazing
