Family Migration Considering the fact that I am of African American decent my family has mostly lived in the United States since the early 1800s. So, rather than speak of that long journey I choose to speak of the adventures of my mother and I. My mom was born on July 12th, 1980 in South Bend, Indiana. She was raised in Indianapolis and Evansville until the age of nine, when she moved to Phoenix, Arizona right before her tenth birthday. Skipping through her teenage years when she was 22 she moved from Arizona because she had me. Before moving to Georgia (GA) we’d lived near my dad and his side of the family in South Carolina for six years.
